Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 17/07/17
R87 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No complaints. Poole deserved to win in the end. Too many of our riders didn't come to the party when it mattered -

Poole favourites for this now. Little doubt about that. -

How on earth he's got away from that with nothing broken is miraculous. -

Simply got boxed onto the line by the Poole riders and list control. Total accidenta, but a nasty one. -

Can't believe that decision. Greaves took his line completely -
Positive news. Important not to start putting the bunting up just yet, but good to see some concrete news. Hopefully it's the start for Cradley finally getting a place of their own.
-
Any links to this?

Its why he's never progressed. No throttle control, just wind it on and hope for the best. Thankfully he's walked away though
-
Sorry. This boring match is making me not so alert ;-)
-
Presume you left the room and missed the last heat then?

Give Peter York a microphone and tell him to stand on the edge of the car park. That should shift them Seriously. I hope this situation can be brought to an end and Coventry find some way to return to Brandon or somewhere else.

Poole Pirates Vs Wolverhampton Wolves 7/6/17
R87 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Would have bit your hand off for a point, but a bit of a sucker punch to lose at the death. Poole have every right to be concerned though. On paper a match they should have won comfortably. -
I saw fighting at Wolves Cradley, never mind chanting! The lack of atmosphere on the terraces pretty much epitomises the decline of the sport here over the years. Monmore being a classic example. I've been in the stadium when it's been raucous, yet the mood now is so tame. The play off final last season shows what can be done when a decent atmosphere is generated.

PK was still riding on a regular basis. Always a big risk to bring Skornicki back after doing so little racing since 2014.
-
Certainly could be forgiven for thinking Skornicki was riding as if he's already been told he's out the door
-
Thorssell is poor value on 9.89. He's completely reliant on gating and can't perform on the road, despite racing here for 5 seasons. He's simply not as good as the Wolves management and some fans think he is.
-
Bottom line is that we have problems all across the board. With weak reserves, we're in a position where we will go into a good seven or eight heats where the best we can hope for is a shared heat. If you have heat leaders and second strings not delivering it simply makes matters worse. Our reserves haven't been just poor - they've barely competed. In affect, we are trying to win matches with a 4 or 5 man team. You simply won't win many matches like that. We got away with it last night because Leicester contrived to throw away a meeting they should have won comfortably.

Adam was excellent on Saturday, but was very poor tonight - not that he was alone.
-
The racing was pretty much a premium compared to the Poole meeting last week and Saturday at Rye, but the close scoreline kept it interesting. Did see quite a few Leicester fans (certainly more than the last few times). Would add to New Science's comment by saying that the decision to pull heat 11 back was a joke. Nilsson tried to get a roller and messed up, yet the race is pulled back.
-
Wow. We got out of jail big style tonight. Crazy from Lynch to not put Bates in heat 14 and then choosing King for the last heat. Leicester really threw the win away

Adam was very much on the pace and did what was asked of him. -

I still remain unconvinced by Thorssell. His away for has always been a concern and is still very reliant on his gating. He's been here for 5 years now and neither have improved much -

Howarth has really impressed me tonight. Less said about our reserves the better. -
Wolves V Poole 27/3/17 + Poole V Wolves 29/3/17 Es.

He isn't rubbish, but certainly not as good on the road as at Monmore. -

Not particularly shocked by that scoreline. Don't see many away wins this season. Team is far too weak at reserve and Thorssell away from Monmore isn't as potent
