  1. Rossiter's comments have put Swindon under pressure, regardless of whether he retracted them or not.
  2. Out of interest, did this band last the whole season, or was it one of these 28 day bans?
  3. CVS always looks to be loyal to his riders, and that's commendable. However, sometimes there is a need to try something different. Especially if the riders in your asset base don't fit the roles needed for the team. The trouble is our promotion are reluctant to try anything new, instead sticking only with what they know. I'm led to believe CVS rarely goes in the pits during meeting's, and Adams resembles a Churchillian dog most weeks. Whether the alarming drop in the crowds levels will be enough to fire them into action remains to be seen, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
  4. WOLVES LEGEND - PRESSURE ON Thursday September 10, 2015 PETER Karlsson, one of Wolverhamptons club legends, admits 2016 is a big season for the club. The Parrys International Wolves wrapped up their Elite League programme with two home defeats at the hands of Belle Vue and Leicester in a double-whammy on Monday. And PK knows fans will expect a vast improvement when the tapes rise on a new campaign next March. He said: "We are in it to win it every year like every team, and after the last two years we really need next season to be much better. "We've done it before here, we've bounced back from disappointing seasons to do well and I don't see any reason why we can't do it again. "This season has been tough on everyone, like I say we just haven't been good enough and when you are all trying your best but keep struggling it's not a nice feeling. "To do well you have to have some bad seasons sometimes, you have to take the highs and the lows, and we hope next year we can be back on a high again. "They are empty words really until we can back it up on the track, and it's going to be a long winter for sure, but I just hope next year can be a much better one for Wolves." The club have one more meeting before the curtain falls on the 2015 season. They are proud to be hosting the Recycled Aggregates Olympique, the longest running club individual event, on Tuesday October 6. Once again the meeting will include the unique handicap format and the season ending will be officially marked by the club staging their traditional firework display. Club bosses will unveil names of riders in the meeting over the next few days.
  5. As far as this year's team goes: Lindgren. 2nd year in a row when our number one hasn't done the job needed. Personally think we've seem the best of Freddie now. Probably keep, but needs better support. Karlsson. You're a legend at the Green PK, but sadly it's time to move on. His season panned out as I thought. Start well, but once the Swedish league starts, he fades. Musielak. Has shown glimpses of his potential, but was always a big ask to maintain his starting average. I suspect he won't be back. Wells. Again, can shine on his day, not not really likely to improve much. Maybe keep, but not as a heat leader. Thorssell. I remain unsure about Jacob. Sometimes found wanting on away tracks and still far too reliant on his gating for me. Mistake to start the team building with him last Winter. I think we'll stick with him, as the management like him, but for me the jury is still out. Haven't rated the ftr lads as neither are likely to be back in don't think. Can't see Tai coming back next season. Think he's satisfied with his schedule now and that's that unless British schedule changes. Pawlicki no chance.
  6. Regardless of if we finished bottom or not,it's been an abysmal season at the Green which has been reflected in the crowds as the seasons gone. I've been inside Monmore Green when the atmosphere has been raucous (not just for Cradley and Coventry matches either), yet the atmosphere now is so tame and resigned towards losing. Wolves glory days of the 1990s are a dimm and distant memory and even 2009 seems a long long time ago now. Since 2011, we have been in the Lower half of the admittedly shrinking EL apart from 2013. There's a losing mentality at the club, and the longer it takes for the promotion to see this, the worse it will get. To have as poor a season as we've had and not make one single change defies belief.
  7. Understandable that there is a muted atmosphere, Hancock and Woffinden in particular look really emotional. Great ride by Tai in Heat 4, albeit he was fortunate to be in the rerun.
  8. Alex Harkness' time as chairman has included the winter of discontent, the continued watering down of the product, clubs going to or very close to the wall, the guest rule spiral out of control to a point where virtually every meeting has guests among other PR disasters. Now I realize that not all of these are directly down to him, but his legacy as BSPA chairman will not be particularly well remembered. Until speedway eradicates itself of its self-centred approach to government and its stuck in the past presentation, whoever replaces him will be stuck in the same cycle.
  9. I think his spat with Sam caused a few to turn on him in fairness. Again, the management bigging him up to be something he wasn't didn't help either.
  10. David played a big part in our title win in 2002 and was always very capable of beating some very good riders around Monmore. I can't think of many riders who divided opinion among the Wolves fans as he did. Some people adored him and others couldn't bear the sight of him. Personally I thought he suffered occasionally by being in a position above where he should have been in the side. The management always had big hope's for him being the second heat leader, but he never quite managed it despite considerable effort, and was targeted by the boo boys for it. Always gave 100% though. Good luck David in what you do in the future. He's doing the right thing getting out whole in one piece.
  11. CVS has always indicated that Adams will be at Wolves for as long as he's connected with the club. Sadly, both prefer to stick with what they know. Pawlicki was a rare "out of the box" move, but the annual shuffling the assets tactic is wearing a tad thin now.
  12. Worrying thing for me is that we have riders who are underperforming, yet are not even under pressure. Peter Adams says theres no point making changes for the sake of it and while there is some truth in that, they need to be seen to be doing something, rather than just putting up with this rubbish.
  13. Another terrible capitulation from Wolves.
  14. I notice Pearson says the stadium is packed. In that case well done to the fans on the back straight who've come disguised as grass........
  15. The only way merging the EL and PL would ever work is if it was done on the Premier League's terms, which would be a further weakening of the product. Far too many like to peddle the myth that the Premier League is a well oiled machine and that all of speedway's problems are in the Elite League. Reality is that all three leagues have fundamental flaws which need to be sorted.
  16. A farewell to Cardiff lap from Hancock there??
  17. I think the 2010 track was better in that there was more overtaking for the lead. The dominance of gate 1 has taken the shine off it, but I think it's been decent overall.
  18. The racing hasn't been the best, but not the worst either. The problem is the gates simply allow for advantage when you are on the inside.
  19. Track is rubbish. Gate 4 an absolute graveyard.
  20. Certainly needs more than the annual reshuffling of the assets.
  21. They were pretty bullish in March (although they had to be I guess), but I was certainly never fooled by the bright start. Peter Adams made a quote along the lines of "even when we have a poor season, I always console myself that we're a season closer to getting it right".
