Funny topic to think off but I felt like a bit of interest and humour and would hope that everyone on the forum could do this. Could be a laugh and maybe controversial but hopefully will be acceptable taste. So what book title would you give riders? I will get the ball rolling with: High, Wide and Handsome by Chris Morton Gaps That Don't Exist by Mark Loram Indifferent Starting Techniques by James Sargeant Anything Goes by Nicki Pedersen Where Are They All by Ivan Mauger and foreword by Tony Rickardsson

Oh please grow up! First of all, you can't read posts. Second of all, you cannot respond with any arguments, facts or logic to any of the five clearly presented reasons in the topic because you and your simple followers do not have the intellectual capacity to do so. Thirdly, you are still looking silly using your lowest form of wit. Come back to me when you have answered those reasons and you don't just jump on a rider's ability as it was his first Elite League meeting back from sepsis which is extremely painful.

So the same two individuals who were disagreeing with an opinion of mine on one thread regarding a Poole rider are on the Poole thread debating the quality of Poole riders. I don't think it would take a detective to figure out that these few just don't like anything about Poole or it's riders. I clearly understand why the reasons on the other thread were not logically debated in any shape or form. I have said my piece and will leave it at that.

Good topic. Well I would guess more recently that Tony Atkin was riding when there was one large Premier League (Now called the Elite League of course and much shorter) and also rode the current Premier League tracks and now rides the National League tracks plus he rode on defunct tracks like Milton Keynes and Long Eaton and he is 46 years old and still going. I would put him near the top.

Signed. Good luck to Coventry Speedway. -
Happy Hunter, those are 2014 averages. Newman has a better EL average regardless. SCB, do you know both riders PL averages in 2015 and so far, so this argument can be closed? I'm with you giving the edge to Newman. Hopefully, although I doubt it as I can't see Newman being fit, it would have been good to see how both riders fare in the British Semis. Another interesting discussion would be are they better than Garrity who is good in British Finals but average wise in the league comes up short, I would guess. Happy Hunter, those are 2014 averages. Not sure where all this nonsense has come from about Kyle Newman and Steve Worrall. As a neutral, I recall from reading the top list of averages at the end of last season in the Elite League and in this weeks Speedway Star. I remember Kyle Newman finished the Elite League last season with an 8.95 average which was not only astonishing for a reserve but much higher than his Premier League average. Steve Worrall was not in the top scorers Elite League list in the last of last years Speedway Star. This weeks Star states that Newman has an average of 9.52 average and Worrall is not in the list. The facts are there. Newman is a better rider than Worrall around the EL tracks. Now if someone can dig out there averages from the PL from last and this season and then we can add the lot together to find out who really is the better rider that will hopefully end this discussion. I would guess Kyle Newman.

I think I have read quite a bit on this already. Surely it has nothing to do with wanting progression because he will move into the main body of the team soon regardless with what will look like David Watt at reserve. So then he will be riding top riders anyway. As for Garrity and Coventry, it would appear that they missed a trick from what I have read. I would say any rider like Newman, Garrity, Ellis, Starke who have all worked up from the National/Conference to the Premier to the Elite can hardly be described by any fan as a rider who doesn't want to progress do you? Just my opinion.

So after the compiling an International Pairs list of best riders with a lot of help from fans on the forum, I thought I would ask for more of that help again by honourably mentioning riders who followed in their father's footsteps. Now as this is Years Gone By, I think it would maybe not be fair to mention riders who are riding now i.e Paco Castagna and Armando but if the demand is wanted and the final list isn't too large then I do not see why not. Of course as well it would be interesting to pick a winner and everyone can chip in with as many as they wish but I will get the ball rolling and say; Father and Son World Pairs Ken and Neil Middleditch

Fantastic news for speedway and I really hope Plymouth can attract some good sponsors as well as a solid fanbase. You know it annoys me when fans harp on about RIP British Speedway just because they say there team isn't good or there Elite League team is weaker than a Polish league top team. This is what it really comes down to and I hope the fans of other clubs don't forget it.

I cannot understand the over the top negativity from some of the Bees fans. I can appreciate paying your hard earned and watching your team lose is a hard pill to swallow but I think you have to look at the positive aspects. And that is, did Coventry not learn a lesson from last year. As Havelock stated something along the lines of it doesn't matter if you win the league by a country mile but it's September that counts. Also when the Bees last won the title, they started off with a weak team with poor results and than brought in a couple of decent riders to win the league. Obviously I understand that you have to finish in the playoffs but there is still plenty of time to bring in quality at the the first and second average changes and as we know there is a lot of quality out there (Kildemand, even Bjarne Pedersen would strengthen) so I think the Bees fans can relax for a while before getting to upset. Relax, your in good hands with Havelock.

Was that the team that rode around Exeter and Poole back than? I remember Korneev, Starotsin and I thought it was Viktor Trofimov who rode at No 1 as he was experienced. Also had Viktor Gaidym and Igor Marko and a few others who were brought over by an American? Can't remember a Vladimir Trofimov though having said that I may have the wrong year but it was close to than.
