  1. Google says 1 hour 20 mins vs 2 hours. I'd described both as pretty local considering he's raced for Edinburgh, Poole and Swindon. Even Workington is further.
  2. Just going to add my name to the list sending their best wishes to Ian and echo other people's throughs.
  3. Magnus Karlsson and Kauko Nieminen as second strings and THJ as a heat leader. Oh please
  4. He had 7 meetings and averaged 5.23 with bonus points. I think Najjer was spot on.
  5. They make more money because more people attend. Thus they are only a positive.
  6. Well if Woryna isn't cheap the management are even more foolish. As he's certainly not as good as other options.
  7. Which fact is wrong? edit > Yes, he's only done two seasons over here. He's still crap and failed to average 5 though
  8. There seems to be this belief from somewhere that Campton is good. He's had 3 season over here, failed to average 5 once and is surely one of the reason the work permit/visa people started asking questions so has caused no end of trouble. It amazes me we have a new rule to use Brits at #7 but some teams continue to use duff foreigners. I get giving them a year, they may improve, they may be decent entertainers in the future but he first arrived about 5 years ago now and is still a reserve - he adds nothing to British Speedway.
  9. I thought it was interest free to BV speedway - so assume the council are paying the interest as it's part of the great sports village.
  10. Why? At the time of the AGM it could have been Lynn/Puk, Coventry/KK or Swindon/Doyle. Even Ford/Magic and BV/Zagar.
  11. And all the 6 pointers will have been signed up by other teams in December and January.
  12. The way to look at it is that £100,000 a year will be a lot for now. But in 20 or even 40 years time it won't seem to much. It's just getting there!
  13. But you'd also be gobsmacked if it was Summers and Sowka too
  14. Which is an oxymoron. If they were a star, they'd still be in the GPs would they not?
  15. And Erik Riss has a World longtrack title but would you be happy to have him as your EL #1? Kylmakorpi in speedway is a small track man, despite his longtrack experience.
  16. This from the clubs whos promoter is chairman of the BSPA and wants more transparency and openness The BSPA just love trolling the fans, I swear they have a competition to see who can make the most ludicrous statement and have it believed by their fans.
  17. The clue was GP star so it can't be THJ
  18. It would be nice if someone at the Speedway Star pointed out the madness of it all! Why do they need a letter?!
  19. I bet whne it does all those rider who said they'd like 1 meeting a week or whatever will find another excuse. Some of them may be honest and admit the money isn't good enough.
  20. Wolves confirmed at their talk in that Howarth rides on his EL average
  21. You can't do that. The reason Garrity refused to be part of the draft was the money. If you now decide that the money can be renegotiated then Garrity can re-join the draft. However bad a rule is, once you have decided on it you have to stick with it or it's grossly unfair on those making decisions based no the rule. I can't wait,. as you say, 2 or 3 of them 4 meetings resulting in big scores will see reserves on 8-9 point averages and becoming heat leaders. Meanwhile someone like Kenneth Bjerre no his 5.9 average could conceivably find himself in reserve. Imagine the farce if Josh Bates manages to average 7.5 for Coventry then breaks his leg. We'd use R/R all year for a draft rider
  22. So they've signed Joonas Kylamakorpi, the rider who's spent most of his career at Lakeside abs Eastbourne and who failed to score at Swindon last season for his big track experience? Proof that speedway promoters are out of touch and just say "stuff" to please the fans. I'm only amazed CVS didn't give a Coventry exclusive this year that turned out to be bullrubbish as he has done most others years.
  23. Its so terrible it's brilliant. It makes the mockery of not giving the reserves their el averages even more of a mockery.
  24. Can jus see it now, King to reserve and Bates to heat leader after 4 meetings
