  1. How many people did we send to the Falklands and Iraq? And a lot of them will still be adults rather than OAPs. If we want to give our armed forces a discount then have an armed forces discount like the Americans do. Don't give ALL OAPs a discount because some people went to war. I'm not saying we should kill all old people, or they should be locked away. I'm just questioning why they get a discount. I just want them to pay the same as everyone else. I could understand if we all had so much money giving them a discount but we don't. We're a country that while not in recession is not in good shape so rather than discounting OAPs passtimes should they not be paying the same as everyone else?
  2. Says the person thats just made a load of assumptions Hilarious And you paid your taxes for services. Not to get a discount on speedway.
  3. For Christ sake. It's an undeniable fact that under 35s have lower disposable income than over 65s (feel free to prove me wrong). Its undeniable that under 35 unemployment is higher in the last 5 years that it has been for a long time. How many OAPs do you think fought for this country? We were last at war in 1945, thats 70 years ago. Lets assume you went to war at 15, thats means you have to be 85. How many 85 year old are there at speedway? The reality most OAPs did NOT fight for this country. They have contributed as much as the OAPS have. you know, the ones who have left the country buggered. It sure as hell isn't the under 35s who have left the country in a financial mess is it? When did the rubbish hit the fan? 2007, so it was going on in the years leading up to that, so about 2000 to 2007 yes? That means if you were 18 in 2000-2007 you are now circa-35. So no, it's not the under 35 who have ruined the country, caused mass-unemployment, caused house prices to reach catastrophic highs.
  4. But maybe BV have a team that is close to the points limit and 4 points is all they had left.
  5. OAP = £16 Adult = £16 16-16 = 0. Thats the same How "might" they have earned the right? Is this the mythical, they have been going to speedway for 40 years? Well an adult may have been going for 60 years but still have to pay full prices yet an OAP could rock up in March having never been to speedway before and at most tracks get in for less. Hardly fair. Also, do BMW and Asda give OAPs a discount because they "might" have been buying their products for years? The OAP discount come about because OAPs used to have a lower disposable income than any other groups in society (beside children who often get a childs price), they no longer do. The group that now has the lowest disposable income is the under 35. Over 65s income is actually increasing all the time. They no longer need the discount. Wrong way of looking at it. Keep screwing over the young and one day there will be more of them and they'll screw over the OAPs. Make it fair now and they won't feel like they've been screwed over and won't feel the need to "get back"
  6. It's not encouraging anyone to stay away. It's not like Horton is charging anyone more, he's charging them the same!
  7. They are NOT being penalised. They used to get a concession, now they're treated the same as everyone else. The people who were penalised were the people who have always paid adult price and never got a concession. Oh yay for being 25, can't afford to buy a house, can't afford to go to speedway. But if you're an OAP you own your home, got on multiple holidays a year AND get cheap speedway. Why is everything in this country aimed at giving OAPs a cheap or free ride?! Let them pay the same as everyone else.
  8. Ah well, as a Poole fan it doesn't effect you so you can take a flippant attitude. It's NOT good for a team to be cast adrift from March and with no hope of building a decent team all season.
  9. Actually, it doesn't. As most of them averaged 5-7 in 2015, letting them in on 3-4 means losing 4 or 5 points straight away.
  10. Lindgren, Joonas and Bech as your heat leaders. HaHa!
  11. I know what they said but I think Sheffield would be mad not to have Proctor back. Get him a 12 month permit and theres not an issue.
  12. So who didn't believe when I said it was too high but is now panicking that their club are going to struggle to build anywhere near the points limit?
  13. It's OK, I've ordered the good one, not the one who can't be bothered and rolls around at the back
  14. Neil, can I put in a request for KK now please?
  15. Garrity signs! which I had guessed was the case based in this very subtle post earlier
  16. No con, not cheating, broke no rules. The rules in 2010 were that you could use your #8 to replace any rider at any time. We replaced Pawlicki with our number 8 at Swindon - yet still won. Maybe if Swindon had not called it off in dodgy circumstances before the cut-off date he may have rode, So you only have Swindon/Russell/Patchett to blame!
  17. There the potential there to have a phenomenal top 2 when Barker is back on it and an equally stupendous 3rd heat leader in Summers. Then 3 alone should be capable of scoring 30-35 points a meeting leaving the bottom 4 to score 4-5 each. I've not seen him mentioned but if Kozza Smith returns on his 5ish average then the rest of the league may as well give up.
  18. So Richard Lawson is back. Unless I've missed it it doesn't seem to have been mentioned no here.
  19. It goes back to what I suggested a few weeks ago. Weight all riders averages based on the position they rode in!
  20. Rider has couple of bad meetings shocker. He is human!
  21. I think some people are forgetting how good Simon Stead is. He'll still get 10+ How many riders when they come back from injury actually struggle badly? Most carry on as before.
  22. Regarding BV 7.xx blank. Simon Stead?!
  23. So he did. Seems all his meetings in 2012 for Newcastle were guest bookings.
  24. If he cuts out the 2 tapes infringements he had in the PL last season it will make sod all difference
