  1. Well I've been quite gloom about our prospects in 2016 so far this winter. It looks like I was wrong. Provided the remaining points are not wasted on Summers I think we have the potential to be a pretty good team. I'm pleased with KK. I understand some people's concern but to win in speedway you sometimes need to take risks.
  2. In theory Batch is a great signing for 2016. But he's Troy Batchelor and nobody wants that in their team!
  3. King should be a second string too. As soon as King is a second string based on opinion and feel you have to promote all sorts of riders as heat leaders!
  4. The issue is that they're doing it on feeling and opinion. He's a near 8 point man, so he's a heat leader. He has to ride as a heat leader too. The only argument is if you used the number of meetings ridden as heat leader bt as son as you throw that idea away you have no option but to make him a heat leader.
  5. But unless I'm mistaken not ahead of someone who is on the heat leader list. My point is if Danny King and Craig Cook are heat leaders based on opinion and feel yet one of them couldn't get in the SWC team ahead of Lambert then Lambert must be a heat leader too.
  6. !!!!!!! Speechless So asking for OAPs to be treated the same as everyone else is being anti?! I think it's you who has he issue of you're seeing anti-OAP sentiment. I want equality.
  7. Its not done on numbers. But a feel. Lambert rode in the SWC so is surely a heat leader.
  8. 4? If Danny King is a heatleader there's 5 in that team!
  9. At the end of the year the points limit will average out about 42. That happened but that was with reserves averaging about 10ish per team. They are not taking up 7ish per team. That's a loss of 3 points a team so you're down to 39 before we lost Ward(and Kildemand), Magic, Puk and Zagar. It's slightly offset by adding Krys Buckzkowski. That's another point lost. This takes into account the likes of Summers and Zengi who someone is going to have to sign or be even lower that the limit.
  10. Wolves and Leicester were about 4 points under the limit and could do nothing about it. Swindon got luck that Darcy come along or they would have been screwed too.
  11. Where have I been anti-OAP? You might want to stop being anti-younger generation before you become an OAP as they're the people who will be working in the NHS, in the care homes and there will be more of them to get what they want and not what's good for pensioners.
  12. The promoters who seem to have ignored the issues and voted in a limit that's too high. Ultimately it's not good for anyone. Let's say Lakeside struggle from the off, thy lose loads of money. That's one less team in the league. If Coventry get turfed out of Brandon next year too. Then what for the EL? This cock up could kill a team or two. I know it's harsh on the riders concerned but there always needs to be a couple of riders left over to fill in for injuries or the team that messed up signing their original team. That's not been done.
  13. The points limit should have been nearer 38 than 40.5. I know some fans would have moaned but they're going to moan even more at the poor teams and mis-matched meetings we'll get.
  14. Just go to university. As they'll never have to pay back the fees (as they'll never have a job) it's free. And they get cheaper speedway entry. And they get to keep their brain sharp so they don't end up ageing quickly. I think Coventry Speedway are doing good for OAPs here Thats the point you muppet! IF (you do know what if means right?) they get 1,600 fans, only 2 of them statistically will have been to the Falklands or Iraq. So if they get 800 fans then only 1 will have been there. If they get 1200 fans then 1.5 fans will have been - do you know how half a fan will have been to Iraq though? That bit has me confused.
  15. So we sent about 1 in every 800 people to the Falklands and Iraq. So if a clubs gets 1600 paying fans, 2 of them went. So to make sure they get a discount, the 50% of OAPs (so about 800 if our crowds is 1600) must all get a discount to catch them two people? Bit extreme
  16. And some of them don't. And some "adults" probably "deserve" a discount too if having been to war is "deserving" of a discount.
  17. But you're not getting this. They get the discount for being an OAP. Not someone in the armed forces. If you want an armed forces discount ask for one, or go to Dominos for a pizza! The IFS or the BSF?! I know who I chose to believe I don't think you realise how poor off the U35's are. The IFS are proper, serious and well respected and even they say its the case. But it's not good enough for you.
  18. The price of speedway has gone up well ahead of the rate of inflation. It cost £7 to get into Newport Speedway in 1997 which is £11.37 in 2015 but the average PL entry price seems to be £14 or £15! That means it's 30% too high!
  19. I think some people are just getting a little delicate these days Especially the Swindon fans as I don't really remember saying too much bad about them. Wolves fans maybe as I often give stevebrum a bit of stick which obviously means giving Wolves some stick but he seems to take it as it's intending and gives back as good as he gets. Now Poole, I really do stick the boot in but then everyone does In fact Coventry are probably the club I give the most stick to. I bet Neil Watson reads my posts rolls his eyes and says, "not again" quite often
  20. I did. And I stand by it. But it doesn't mean all teams will. And maybe BV are struggling to get to 40.5 and signing Worrall was the best they could do. Signing Worrall in isolation neither proves nor disproves the theory.
  21. So my biased opinion, that I portrayed using facts is rubbished but then you come up with proof of many OAPs having fought for the country because of one OAP, your dad? So you know your dad, now how many OAPs do you know who go to speedway? He's 1 out of how many? Did you dad get a discount when he was just an "adult"? As I said, if you want to give a armed services a discount then you should have an armed forces discount like they do in America and in Dominos pizza. But frankly I think thats pants too, as nobody is forced into the armed services these days.
  22. Well owing to the fact people have to stay in education now until 18, I think it'd be unfair to charge them the same as someone earning a wage or with a pension. Those who are in university are never going to be earning much and they can't even claim tops (like tax credits etc) so they need some sort of help. They have not made life choice that prevent them paying full price. IMO, most (not all!) OAPs who cannot afford full price speedway it's because of life choices. They didn't plan for their retirement. Students are in no position to same and plan for being a student by virtue of becoming one by law at the age of 4 and not legally being allowed to work before then! My point, quite simply is if your life choice mean you can't afford something, then reconsider your life choice. If you life choice is to be a scrounger, then don't complain you can't afford speedway. If your life choice is to be a stay at home mum, don't complain you can't afford speedway. If your life choice is to work in Australia, don't complain you can't afford to travel every week to watch speedway. If you life choice is to be retired and spend your money one something else, don't complain that an extra £2 every week means you can't afford speedway! And frankly, I doubt the £2 extra OAPs are being asked for every other week is going to leave them poor, cold or starving. It's £2!! It almost seems silly arguing this from either side over such a trivial amount. I leave that for people who disagree with me. Especially on such important matters as a McDonalds breakfast!
  23. I've already got low expectation for us. We have Danny King as a heat leader for a start! But at least we can still potentially sign another heat leader, you guys can't. It's more of a "HaHa" look how rubbish the EL has become. I've already said elsewhere that its not good for any team to be on the back foot for the off and struggling but sadly I can see that being the case this year. The BSPA have totally messed up.
