  1. No, this is proof it wants me dead! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151658795471539&set=a.113700691538.127406.700656538&type=3&permPage=1 Cats, all cats. grrrr.
  2. No, you disputed BWitchers claim that with todays format, Ivan would have been a 7 pointer. He couldn't have finished 4th to them guys, as Doyle was higher so he's have finished 5th if he was behind NK, Magic and Ward! But that would have meant he averaged anything from AJs 7.84 to Wards 8.77 (weirdly nobody averaged anything between them, nearly a points difference. So he could well have been in the 7s today
  3. Which is 4 or 5 more than any Aussie or American gets these days! The last 4 Americans to go straight into the EL, Carrilo, Yarrow, Burmeister and Wells all averaged between 1.5 and 2.5! The last Aussies to go straight into the EL were Travis McGowan, Kevin Doolan and Jason Hawkes in 1999 and they averaged about 3.7, 2.5 and 4. The fact most of them can't hit 5 in the PL these days in season suggests that 5 in the EL is a dream some years off! Thats exactly what it is. The claim was that Mauger in 1980 would have only been a 7 point man using todays format. That was disputed.
  4. in the 80s Australians and Americans would go into the BL and average 8 in their first season. How was the last Aussie to even get 8 in their debut PL season? Ward and Holder before him, then who? The EL is stronger now than ever before. Speedway is stronger now that ever before. I think it was more down to natural talent back then (except for the top few) but I don't think thats enough even for EL boys these days who have to have the kit and work at it. Now when was the last time a rider got 8 in his debut EL season? Holder maybe did it. Lets say 7, riders who got 7 in their first EL season, Holder, Pedersen back in 1999, Cegielski in '03, Zagar in about '07. Yet it seemed to be a semi-regular occurrence in the 70s and 80s for riders to come over and get them sort of figures - how if the standard was so high? You have far less riders these days appear on the scene and just do it.
  5. Because we're a club without a future that has just sign two riders for the bloody future!
  6. Apparently Bridger, Kelvin, Troy Pratt and Colin White are all coming out of retirement to sign for Lakeside too
  7. "Fast track"?! Out of retirement brilliant!
  8. Have we learnt nothing in the last 2 seasons? A strong reserves = a good team. So we have two pretty average reserves. Great. It's not as if we're likely to use the points in the 1-5 unless we pull off a couple of great signings but I can't see any of Iversen, Doyle or Pedersen signing.
  9. So 3 and a half hours later and no news yet! Typical speedway. The new Glasgow promotion are fitting in well!
  10. He's one of my reasons for hating cats. He's evil. But with him being asleep on my bed I also know it's not him that leaves muddy prints on my car and hair on the roof, it's someone elses. Should I ever find it then I'll happily kick the little bastard!
  11. I'd say if they're getting £22 for some rubbish they've done a bloody good job! The BSPA should be offering them a role to sell British Speedway to the masses!
  12. Vaculik did mess up the round before the challenge, you're correct but one meeting in a whole season says you're not top 15 in the World? As for AJs record in 2010-2014, what what?! It's 2015 now and next year 2016, it's how he'll do next year, he's not top 15 in the World. Take a look at his Polish league average! Holder is an interesting one, his league form does suggest he's not good enough (ditto Harris) but he finished top 8 and that, cannot be argued with. Incidently, his 12th place isn't a fair reflection. He was in 3rd place, 2 points behind Woffy when he broke his leg. Lindback averaged 10 point a GP in 2014. That would have seen him finish 7th over all behind the actual top 3, Kildemand, Hampel and Zmarzlik based on average points per GP. Tied with Puk.
  13. After the play-off semi-final driving back to Newport from Coventry they decided the close the M42 but didn't tell you until you had gone past the last junction off so sent you on a 45 mile de-tour to get back to that junction which they could have just had sign posted! It shouldn't be hard these days!
  14. TBF, i think you're missing the point here. It's a signed item for a charity auction. You often find people paying over the odds at charity auctions. Yes it's rubbish and has a real value of probably negative figures but if someone wants to donate to charity and get some "memorabilia" in exchange then good for them! Personally I'd prefer to pay the £27 the winner is currently committed to towards the eradication of cats. They rubbish in my garden and sit no my car leaving muddy footprints and hair over it. Little gits.
  15. It could be done. After all they have had two weeks and teams can't really get on with team building until they know how many points are used up at reserve. That said, I'd propose they should do it via twitter again as they have done in the past. Mind you, I have heard it's not really going to be a draft but a free for all once protected riders are signed up. So who knows?!
  16. At least you admit you cannot understand something this time. What you can't understand is something you have made up too which makes it even better
  17. Zmarzlik 17 Lindback average 10. Cook 7 Pawel Przedpelski 7 Mikkel Michelsen 6 Thats half of the wildcards from 2015 who scored 6 or more. Gollob managed 4 from 3 in a shortened GP too. So was tied for 8th (technically 9th on countback). Thats over 50% doing just fine. In 2014 Zmarzlik 17, Puodzuks 10, Miedzinski (average 7), Jonasson, Ljung, Bech and Janowski all 7.
  18. You're arguing apples with pears now. I don't doubt he is World #10 but using your theory, next year the GP series would just have the same riders in it as ended this year as they're the top 15 riders in the World using GP rankings. Some riders who didn't qualify (for whatever reason) are still better riders, AJ didn't qualify either don't forget! He's been gifted a place for 2016.
  19. Thats a bit harsh. We have a double World Champion and one of the most experienced GP riders in terms of number of GPs ridden. Throw in a still only 17 year old Robert Lambert and things are not that bad. Cookie can still make it too, sink or swim for him this year, lets hope he swims!
  20. Agree with that. Win all home meetings, keep the home fans happy. Winning all your home meetings should mean if you can nick a few away wins or even a handful of away loser bonus points you're in with a shout. It would certainly be my tactic if I was a promoter.
  21. TBF, regarding the sports web presence, uk martin is generally pretty spot on.
  22. He walked out, you had a guest for him! Or did Wolves cheat?!
  23. On one hand I agree. But on another I question the how the hell we can fit in yet more WC meetings?! The only solution I can see is to use the SEC as some sort of qualifier but then now does that work for nor European riders?
