  1. What's interesting is that pretty much everyone who has said no has not said no due to a lack of talent. He is one of the top 5 most talented riders right now but it takes a little more than talent to win a title (or Gollob would have 5 to Nickis 0). You have to have the right mindset. If you'd gone back to 1999 and asked the same question about Gollob most would have replied "of course" but it took 15ush years and a real rock bottom moment to reboot him before Gollob won a title because as I just said, it's more than talent, it's professionalism, drive, commitment and being mentally strong. Tai is talented but where he wins IMO is his mental toughness. His "my 80% is their 100%" psychological stuff. The thing is, a few other riders believe that. I doubt one other rider would lose a battle of wits or mind games with Darcy!
  2. Make the engines 1000cc. Spinier bikes will lead to less reaction which means less grip and throwing riders off. Could be the most stupid suggestion ever but I'm trying to think of something different.
  3. In some ways 60-30 may force a change of one is not already planned - it happened after the Leicester 60-30 in March!
  4. Because speedways level is that of "filler". We can't compete with most other sports so have to take what we can get.
  5. Kildemand and Kenneth Hansen use them for a start. Noticed them on a few bikes recently.
  6. Stefan has always been a rider who performs better on his home track. He's really got dialled in at BV these days, he's not half the threat away though.
  7. Kus can gate and these days that's half the battle at Lynn. Hardly an inspiring guest but last time I said that Kevin Doolan scored paid 10! Edit - TBF, looking at the options, there's not a lot out there. Only really Bach or Jacobsen with higher PL averages/better options.
  8. Yet weirdly it happened twice at BV in a few weeks. Was Zagar and AJ last time.
  9. Anyone who thinks Eurosport are better than Sky Sports is barmy! For a start Eurosport don't do their own filming. I'm not sure re-run videos are capable of filming a production for Eurosport!!
  10. Tapes exclusions count as a ride for averages, a rise for the maximum 7 rides BUT DONT count for the minimum 3 rides.
  11. The Jury are not to know of any previous convictions. So thats rubbish.
  12. So some think it was a poor meeting. But due to the added meaning of this meeting due to the play-offs, some found it far more exciting. Now had there been no play-offs this would have probably been a naff meeting to everyone there.
  13. Correct. Skys speedway twitter account confirms they're monitoring the weather in Poole and Lynn today but plan to be at Lynn now.
  14. Cook had to ride in heat 14. But surely he missed the 2 minutes in the re-run after he had touched the tapes?! Sounds like a farce to me.
  15. The "three" mentioned were Cardiff, Horsens and Kulma. Last year the German track (that had a pairs meeting this year) was also terribly biased but it was still a great meeting.
  16. I don't think Coventry made any comments. But the one season they had that rule Wolves got ride of Sowka a week early, Scunny dropped a useless Aussie who I can't even name and BV dropped a Pole. So it was ignored at least 3 times. They then sensibly dropped the rule.
  17. That rule only lasted a year. And Wolves broke it anyway!
  18. They're different things/days out. I love a day out in Cardiff for the GP, I pitch up in the shadows of the stadium and get merry while chatting away with old friends and making many new friends. I can turn and chat to a random person about how their season is going and put the World to right before moving on to the next person and doing the same. Cardiff is so great I even once managed to have a chat with Tsunami and Alan Boon at the same time (anyone who remembers Alan Boons time on the forum will know how amazing that was!). I drink, gamble, eat and watch a speedway meeting all within the same 500m2 area surrounded by mainly speedway fans. One mention partners not liking it but liking London - Cardiff is a great city for shopping, hand over the credit card and agree to meeting them a few hours later Also, my mum is not a speedway fans - she still wants Bruce Penhall to make a comeback and knew Jason Crump but thats about it! she loves Cardiff day (ok it's only a 10 minute bus and a 20 minute train ride form home) and has made many friends, including a few from this forum. Now Wembley, that'd be a nice day out in London that I can do any time. I'd go to a GP at Wembley and I'd have a day out in London. But Wembley the area is pretty rubbish, went for the football and few years ago and it just felt a bit "bleugh", the stadium was impressive though. The fact the hotels fill up suggests they have got their pricing right.
  19. But there not even a hint of cheating or underhandedness here. Speedway fans amaze me, seem to be happy to let cheating happen but cry cheats when something they don't like happens but is totally legal.
  20. £180 in Cardiff, £80 in Bristol. So £100 difference. How many of you? As the train is about £13 it means that once there are 4 or 5 of you then you're not really saving a lot but you're on a train for for nearly 2 hours of the day, rather than just be able to wander back to the hotel when ever you like. That said, Bristol is a nice place to spend a day/evening - you're just not with the speedway fans. and the trains are every 30 minutes. Personal opinion is for one weekend a year I'd suck up the extra £120ish it's going to cost extra to stay in Cardiff but I appreciate that is a lot to a family that have bills to pay. I'd also pick Bristol over not going at all.
