  1. Coventry and Poole wouldn't pick each other as they know a Coventry/Poole final brings in a crowd. The only way I could ever see either club not wanting that is if Coventry could have a final against Wolves.
  2. Would bringing in an unknown be a good idea? Generally you'd say "use them next year on a new better average" but if Scunny bring in a struggler, crowds will drop and there will be no "next year"
  3. So you only allow the losing team to request a track inspection. You know, like at all meetings that take place that are not on Sky!
  4. Worry? I'd laugh. And it might be just what is needed to show it up as a joke. The issue is NOT getting to heat 10, the issue is ONLY getting to heat 10 when the losing team needs the other 5 heats to try and win.
  5. We all know it's got bugger all to do with who likes riding in the rain and who doesn't
  6. I would laugh if Coventry find themselves in Poole position of winning going into 10 and wanted it to carry on while Lakeside want it off. Would show everyone up.
  7. I'd argue that if you are seeing clubs drop to the NL and close down it's beneficial for the PL to do something about it (and the EL too - I'm not naive enough to think the EL is a bed of roses)
  8. There have been suggestions in the past that there was excessive noise in the middle of the night and noise for noise sake when there were no events taking place just to piss this couple off. For the record, I think anyone complaining about the noise from the speedway and stocks cars during events at a speedway/stock car stadium is a pillock and should be ignored. But I can see, if the stories are true, why some people may get upset and ask for a little more respect. If the people being asked to show some respect then do the opposite, I can see why someone may take legal action.
  9. If Berwick and Scunny are struggling, and I doubt they're the only ones, then surely it's time the PL stopped trying to get stronger and stronger all the time and went with a 5 Brits per team rule. It would force the PL teams to basically be NL teams with 2 extra riders at the top end. It would also make the jump form NL to PL smaller. The gap into the EL wouldn't be an issue with the draft working as it is at present - ok it probably won't help non-draft riders moving from PL to EL but so what?
  10. That only happening if Lindback is top 3 in the qualifier, which is probably ATM. Needs to be a Swede.
  11. I've said all along it'll be reasonably close. The start of my post doesn't mention anyone winning, it says that Lakeside are not the strongest they have been. Lakeside are probably very slightly stronger than last time Coventry were there and we managed a few narrow win but I'd expect Joonas to score better than last time too, so I don't see it changing too much.
  12. The BSPA can and often do change the rules in the winter. There technically nothing t stop them brining in a rule that says anyone form New Zealand can only ride in the EL and has to come in on a 10 point average.
  13. What really is amazing is that starman has read something about Darcy when he's not been mentioned once in the whole thread!
  14. Surely Coventry/Manchester is comparable to Mallila? If they can make it pay surely Manchester/Coventry can?
  15. The way to look at it is while they're complaining about you not being there they clearly want you there. Thats a good sign. the day they moan about you being there is the day as a rider you need to worry and get upset
  16. I have yet to see a reasonable argument put forward as to why GB can't have a second GP. Make it the English GP. The new National Stadium is the obvious place to have it but Coventry hardly failed in the past and is no worse than some stadium currently hosting GPs. I fail to believe anyone would pick one over the other. Would anyone really not go to Coventry/Manchester because they're going to go to Cardiff? And Cardiff is a day out while Coventry/Manchester would be more of a turn up, watch a GP and go home. There are GPs out there with 5-8,000 people turning up. We'd get that for a second GP.
  17. If everyone in that team pulls their finger out thats a bloody awesome team IMO. Fisher is capable of so much more than he's shown, Newman is better too and Risager is more 7 point man thna 6 point man - while of the rest if 1 or 2 of them can perform each meeting then they could get some decent away results.
  18. Yes and no. Lets assume you buy a house next door to a speedway and stock car stadium. Each weekend you hear the speedway and stock cars but you knew that was coming. Now one day, at 2am in the morning you hear them making noise. You ignore it once. What if that 2am noise becomes a regular thing? What if the noise is more than stock cars and speedway once a week? People have to expect the stadium to make noise but NOT excessive noise at inconsiderate times. I bet the planes only take off between the hours of 8 and 8ish.
  19. Just a long memory. Remember when Coventry wanted to sign Kenni Larsen and Shamek Pawlicki on a 50% converted PL average of about 4.5 and a 4.00 assesed average and between them Adams, Pratchet and Ford hatched a plan to make them 5.8 and 6.5?! And it nearly led to my club being closed down? Yeah, so forgive me if I'm still bitter and I'm happy to see others get their own back!
  20. I believe Colin Hills money has been used to keep Plymouth running for the last few season. No doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong.
  21. I wonder about the World some people live in! Kim has a 9ish point home average. Davey hasn't been that good at Lakeside for a few years now. What I will say is it's not a massive drop but based on the stats alone, I'd pick Kim around Lakeside over Watt these days, just. Then theres Ash Birks who again with bonus points is averaging the best part of 9 at home, I'd pick him over Roynon pretty much every time. Lakesides team is NOT the strongest they have had this year. It's probably not their weakest either tbf but I'm not getting all this super strong Lakeside talk! As I said above, I'm going for a close meeting. In part because Lakesides meetings general have been close at home this year. They have a solid top 5 but seem to pick up to many lasts at reserve. But that could all go wrong with Ellis/Roynon or Hans/Harris turn up.
  22. It's also impossible to have the top 15 in the GP series over the season as the top 15 is quite fluid. Over the course of a season there might actually have been 30odd riders who have at any give time been in the top 15.
  23. I hope other members of the BSPA are taking notice of how much Matt ants Darcy back and are formulating a plan to screw over the move. All Aussies averages automatically get doubled or something similar.
  24. Surely to God Jonsson cannot have another chance?!
