  1. A roasting? It's a few written words on the internet. Unlike some delicate little flowers I couldn't give a rubbish. And you know what, I doubt Darcy gives one either than someone on twitter has said they hope he dies soon. People really need to get a little perspective. What is the nastiest and most harmful thing that can come of a few nasty comments online? hurt feelings? What if someone says no to sex but someone still does it? What if someone rides a bike high on drugs? What if someone rides a bike drunk? Alan Boons comments will NOT lead to death, yet Darcys actions getting on a bike with drugs and alcohol in his system, they could lead to death. Tell you what, ban Alan Boon from twitter for a couple of weeks, then we can all have a heros welcome when he returns in a few weeks time. FWIW, I think wishing death on someone is childish.
  2. Didn't think happen on that BBC program that had speedway in it recently? Some sort of fight ended up on track?!
  3. That may all be true. But why would the BSPA/SCB/ACU (all British) want to help out a rider who has a NZ silver fern on the top of his website and has the NZ flag on his merchandise. The 3 point average is meant to be for Brits, the 7 point average for foreigners, cut all the bullrubbish and red tape, in simple terms is BWD a Brit or a Kiwi? If someone outside of speedway asked him his nationality what answer would he give? Who will he race for in World Championships if he gets that far? Would he race for GB in the U21 SWC next month?
  4. I have not defended anything. I suggest you read what I write, not what you chose to read! Speedway would be better without riders like Darcy Ward though IMO.
  5. Take a look at his website, tell me what his nationality is..... http://www.bwdracing.com/
  6. You wouldn't. Every other week maybe but he can be as bad as he can be good and he would annoy you half the time
  7. Weirdly, I was just reading an old facebook post from 3 years ago today. My comments then were, "It doesn't help he spend a few grand here with Tuner A this week, that doesn't instantly work so he throws a few grand at tuner B and that doesn't work instantly so he throws money at tuner C and this goes on every couple of weeks. He'd be better off spending all that money in November and spending December, January and February getting it to work. The guy has the talent to actually ride a bike but not the technical knowhow to get a bike working. Shame."
  8. Frankly, anyone who has defending some of the things Darcy has done surely cannot condemn a few words on Twitter, can they?!
  9. The Sky issue is that the rules state that after heat 10 ONLY the losing team can request a track inspection. Yet in the play-off final, the meeting was called off with Coventry losing and that was going to happen in this meeting due to the different rules for Sky meetings.
  10. Has Matt Ford done the impossible?! It looks like it! Wolves and Bees fans supporting each other in the fight against evil
  11. Lakeside/Jon Cook said so in a press release! Still, can't have you disagreeing with Poole!
  12. Lakeside didn't agree. And im even if they did, the rules don't allow for mutually agreeing to ignore the rules - it explicitly says so.
  13. You need riders to replace missing top draft riders. Better that it's older Brits rather than foreigners. The riders you list can only guest.
  14. Because too many referees bottle 1st/2nd bend incidents because they can. If I was a referee I'd have half the number of all 4 backs most referees have.
  15. I've still not forgiven him for not excluding Holder in the first running of heat 7 in the 2010 play-off semi-final after he wiped out Bomber on the 1st bend. He's a terrible, terrible referee.
  16. It's not exactly gate and go but it's not likely to be a classic. Not unlike Cardiff, you can pass, some will get it while you're unlikely to see 4 riders swapping places for 4 laps.
  17. Yes, Auty has a reputation. But you cannot ride into other riders with intent. If you have an issue you have to do a Greg Hancock, get off your bike and throw a punch. I'm all for a few slaps and a punch but throwing bikes at riders, no, never, just not on.
  18. So as a promoter, you're telling me it doesn't suit you, if Coventry are winning to have a meeting called off? So you'll be calling for the meeting vs Lakeside to be re-run? Of course it suits you, 3 (or 4) points but only having to pay points for 10 heats and not 15. And that's why no promoter will want the 20 10 heat rule scrapped. 50% of the time it works for them and when it doesn't at least it saves them a few £££
  19. Yeah, because hes still having so much difficulty signing for a British club isn't he?! You post may have been true if he had not already raced two meetings for his British club before even signing for a Polish club!
  20. Exactly. Maybe Berge doesn't work with the Glasgow promotions management style. Maybe the Glasgow management style works for most and Berges attitude works with some managers. Neither is necessarily wrong, they just don't work together.
  21. TBF to them in this case, what Brit can they sign? The only possibly option I can see is Adam Ellis but British Speedways stupid rules would mean that is that happened, Birmingham would be stuffed. Foreigners on 3-5 point averages is naff but 5+ I get it.
  22. But lets assume no result could be called at heat 10. Do you think Coventry would have wanted it off? If you could only call a result at heat 15 do you think Coventry would have carried on? Bearing in mind that 8 months earlier, in a play-off final, Coventry were losing at home after heat 10 and GSI/sky/meeting co-ordinator decided to call the meeting off. Coventry, with this still fresh in their mind thought, "we played fair that day, we carried on. But someone called that meeting off while we were still battling for a win. Like hell are we going to have that happen again". The issue is that meetings are far to easily called off at heat 10 and DONT carry on. But nobody in power will admit to this, they'll all claim this "safety" bullrubbish. Because 50% of the time when its raining at heat 10, it suit the promoter to call it off and pay a few ££ on points money!
  23. So Coventry were right to be fine 4 grand in total for wanting it off at heat 9 but it was totally acceptable to call it off at heats 10 and nobody gets fined?
  24. Or imagine Robbo had fallen off in heat 9. Slide along the ground and her his leg/back/arm. They had to send the medical people out to him, they checked him over, the dr had to go to he medical room with him......
