  1. Lets be honest, at Glasgow this year there serious pressure on them to win things. You don't spend like the Facennas have and sit back and watch people people plodding along. Where as at Redcar, as long as you can ride a bike and score 3 points you're probably not going to get much trouble off the management.
  2. Technically, I'm not sure that's true. I think slander and libel is would the statement you made cause a reasonable person to think negatively of the person the comment is aimed at. Not is it a lie. So for example, you couldn't sue someone for libel/slander if they called you gay as these days being gay is not seen as a negative thing - but it could still be a lie. I say this, but I believe it al very complicated and that's why lawyers love it!
  3. Isn't that a contradiction? Firstly you say the area and the environment determines if something is a nuisance. Then go on to say that the environment (next to an air base) is a moot point.
  4. There is no 5% as Robbo is doubling up. And Summers is surely the obvious choice? Would be nice to see them give Nikolaj Busk-Jacobsen with a view to him signing for the Bees one day. He's had a brilliant first season in the PL and when you look back at the foreign riders who have made it from the PL the list is full of Danes (with the odd Aussie), lets get our claws into him now!
  5. With Berwick and Scunny in trouble, Edinburgh not exactly in great shape and the likes of Eastbourne and Birmingham being too big for the NL, you might just see the PL restructure and become more viable.
  6. If he has concussion he should not be riding for at least a week.
  7. The agreement can't be that long standing as it wasn't in place last season! I'm sure it was brought in this winter.
  8. As much as I dislike Darcy at least he seems to be being honest here. Im sure once the tapes go up he'll do the only thing he knows how.... race hard!
  9. The should have done. If only a NL guest was allowed then Hughes was ineligible.
  10. Glasgow are down to Lawson, Summers, Sarjeant and Palovaara now.
  11. TBF, I don't think you could charge anything like £40 a ticket at Coventry. You're probably pushing it at much more than £25. Still plenty of room to make a nice profit there.
  12. No, please don't. Some of us are enjoying it
  13. I can only assume it has some wording that allowed more flexibility after 10 years - I certainly hope so as it's at least morally very wrong if Colin Hill had not allowed for this to happen.
  14. My issue with it is that he does it in a race where he been put in as a reserve change for Garrity or where Garrity is in the race, that means if it goes wrong then he has to go from 15. By all means risk it in a race where Garrity can replace him if it goes wrong, but he's good enough in the reserve races to get a 3rd by not risking it most of the time. Garrity seems to be a bit better at it! He rolls rather than does a Sarj anticipate. Rolling you can stop, anticipation you're going one you have decided thats it.
  15. It's a shame he never had a farewell meeting in the UK - not even a "this will be his last meeting" for people to go and see him one last time. I said I wouldn't go to the first meeting, March, new track, all settling in I'm not too keen I'll wait until later in the season before visiting. But Crumpy is possibly the only rider who would get me there.
  16. I've often criticized Havvy but he was on the ball last night and got it spot on. Fair play. As for Roynon, surely the doctor should NOT be letting someone with broken bones (turns out it's a dislocated rather than broke), it could have had all sorts of implications. Fair play to him though.
  17. Why? We only had two Brits a couple of years ago as we didnt have a 2nd one worthy. The Swedes are the same.
  18. In 2000 at Newport. Vs Newcastle. Would have been heat 8 both Craig Taylor and Christian Henry started form 15 metres. Rules allow for riders, from opposing teams to start from 15 metres. But if a second rider from a team with a rider already 15 metres back touching the tapes, the 2nd one is excluded (or replaced by a reserve)
  19. I was dubious that Swindon would do enough to make the play offs as Zengi and there serves are not good enough. But they seem to have stepped it up tonight, fair play. They may just do it! 4 away meetings at Coventry and Poole though - if they do it they may just go into play-offs as favourites.
  20. It shouldn't need to be law. If someone gives you a gift with conditions attached you do as they're told unless you're morally bankrupt.
  21. I've often said that Lakeside comes across badly on tele. But tonight was great speedway. We had fairly decent racing, we had a close score, a result decided in the last few metres. We had Garrity being Garrity. Roynons last ride deserves a mention too. And best of all Kennett bottling yet another heat 15. It's just a shame we didn't have a fight between Varcher and Laurence Rogers or we'd have had it all. If all speedway was like that he soort would be in great shape. It was so good I can even cope with the fact the Bees threw away a league point. Also, 3 Bees riders have failed to beat an opponent in heat 15. All heat leaders (not counting Robbo tonight)
  22. Because people are not making excuses for him. If you bother to look back you'll see I've condemned Antonios off track antics and his drinking many times. But as nobody come to his defence it quickly dropped away - maybe a lesson for the Ward sycophants?!
  23. But if you have finished top to be able to pick the team in 2nd, you can have the 2nd leg at home anyway.
