  1. Kylmakorpi, one ride aside was having to pick people off- he was having to do it the hard way and didn't really look dominant - he's look like an ok second string. Bomber and Hans were gating a lot better and you had to fancy them to do better than Kylmakorpi. King looked better than them all TBF. Hindsight says King was a poor choice for 15 but before hand it was a reasonable choice.
  2. The system was brilliant, Most heat 15s mattered for both sets of fans.Apparently they changed the system that you get 3 points for any home win because Jon Cook felt some fans were going home disappointed with only 2 points and not 3. That leaves us in the totally crap situation where having won a meeting, you can now give the opposition a point if you like. The issue you have is people don't know about it. Coventry fans left last night thinking they had dropped a point, some quite angry with the choice for heat 15. If you're going to change the rule to please the home fans then tell the home fans FFS! I wonder if after Lakeside home loss last night Jon Cook will be suggesting 3 points for the home team eveyr meeting because his fans went home disappointed last night? The old system worked. The new one doesn't. Change it back ASAP!
  3. It's alight moaning about the track but the top 5 all did there job (plsu some) the issue is at reserve. Using James Wright whos been going backwards for about 4 or 5 season now and Adam Ellis as number 7 despite knowing he wasn't happy at the club/with the track and wanted away. Lakeside should have let Adam go and picked up a better senior reserve.
  4. Anyone who's looked at the averages on the BSPA could also see Nick becoming number 1 very soon. Next Friday infact More worryingly for Edinburgh fans must be that the former PL #1 isn't even #1 at Edinburgh any more
  5. Have to agree on the time it took to run the meeting. It was run at a pleasant, steady pace with no rushing but equally no waiting around. Wasn't a bad meeting either, the track was slicking than meeting pace but it produced some ok racing. Kylmakorpis gating being terrible and resulting in him having to make a few passes helped! Not a classic but certainly nothing at all to complain about. My niece who went to her second meeting of the season enjoyed it and asked when we were going back so they're doing something right! She did comment on Bomber being boring as he was the only rider not to wave at her on the way back to the pit's
  6. I do like it when a team breaking the rules loses makes me think there might be a god and he believes in fair play.
  7. What Lakeside are doing here is using a guest for a rider who doesn't fancy it. What if other clubs started using guests for riders who didn't fancy Lakeside? And theres a few of them.
  8. If Zagar turns up in the mood he could score 15 (or 18) thats a big chunk of the 45. They have one of the better #7s for riding Brandon so he might get a point or two. Howarth and Zengi know the track well enough as does Scott. But on the other hand, Zagar could not give a crap and score 6, Scott has been know to have shockers at Brandon, Zengi blows hot and cold and Howarth may find the Bees top 4 too hot to handle. Honestly just don't know.
  9. Yes. Because of crap like this. Last year when Coventry could not get a single draft rider to ride they were going to use a NL reserve (at the time), the BSPA wouldn't allow it and they had to have a blank in 3 races. This should be the same, no facility which means no rider.
  10. Thats not allowed unless you can do better. You have to post he was amazing. It'll confuse those of us who were not there but will mean you don't hurt his feelings. Reports are not for the fans but to boost the fragile egos of riders these days or they have a go on twitter. You have been warned!
  11. Yeah, BV are weaker. Stead is a track specialist and Cook has a 10 point average at Brandon.
  12. Steve Boxall is not in your team, Ash Birks is. So where is Ash Birks? Seriously, once can be an over sight, but to allow Lakeside a guest for a rider who is free to ride is a joke of epic proportions.
  13. Exactly. It's not like Tesco needs to till Sainburys. The Dog and Duck wants to see the Crows Nest closed down. As soon as any speedway club closes then the whole sport loses, it might be a tiny, insignificant bit initially but over time....
  14. I think Bomber is a bit like starman. He hears people he respects saying things and then repeats it himself.
  15. Surely we should ALL be working together it avoid clashes and give the fans a good deal and full teams? One of speedway big issues IMO is a them and us mentality that exists between the GPs and each of the leagues. We all want the same thing at the end of the day, lets work together and make it work better!
  16. Sums it up for me. We used to comment on how the speedway got in the way of a great weekend! Went over 3 times with different groups of people and had a great time
  17. Bates or Johnson. Jeeze, neither is exactly what you would want given a choice!
  18. Which means you're 3 days too late for the May cut off
  19. No. the rules say his average should be last seasons EL average multiplied by 1.4. So about 7.5. Yet some how he's on 4.9 which is less than he averaged in the EL FFS!
  20. Not really. What was wrong with Friday just gone? Coventry were not riding as it was a GP weekend.
  21. Rory, ride for the Bees? Not likely. Plus he's like to have either guested the week before or already be guesting for Leicester in place of Walasek. Nicholls and Magic are both likely to be a tiny bit too high if my figures are corect (8.25 and 8.18 vs 8.17 for Hans). Annoyingly, with bonus points, theres only 2 riders ahead of Hans. Puk and Bomber!
  22. They will. but a facility is no good if all the options for guests are either injured, riding in the same meeting or riding in the Best Pairs. Basically Nick Morris is the highest average rider available to replace Hans
  23. Whatever happened to Ole Olsen roll up track he talked about back in 2003ish?
