TBF, havent we known this for a long time that it's very regional and popular in the towns/cities with tracks but go elsewhere and it's a bit, "what?!" - certainly the few speedway promoters who tried promoting to Poles in this country found that to be the case!
-
Just notice Tomasz Bajerski is commentating. I thought he went AWOL a few years because he was wanted by the police and was on the run in America having committed fraud in Poland? What happened there then?
-
It's almost certainly a mistake, as is Robbos 4 point average for Coventry.
-
5? If he's riding that well and the management are on the ball he could have 6 or even 7 depending on how others are going. All my statement said was that the replacement only needs to have 3 rides, nothing at all about how many Jason would be expected to take.
-
The good news is that the replacement only need 3 rides as Jason is so good at Monmore. Surely we should be looking at using Dan Greenwood, Storm rider, ex-Cradley (so knows Monmore) flying in the NL and had a decent enough meeting in the PL recently. Why have a NL team if you're not going to give them guys a chance when an opportunity arises?!

It's cost me £8.34 for a Burger King meal in Cardiff last weekend, just checked the receipt! TBH, without the 50% voucher, Harvester is comparable too using Shadders price above and personally I'd rather starve than go to McDonalds - mind you, I'd rather starve than eat at most speedway stadia too.Eastbourne behind the pits, Somerset and Wolves in the outdoor burger van from burger and indoors for chips are the exceptions.
-
TBF, Burger, chips and a drink each for £17 isn't OTT. Go to Burger King and it's about that and they don't have you trapped at a sporting event.

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April

Lets be honest, you'd be stark racing mad to pay someone to do a job that someone will do for nothing (or more realistically the honour of being able to say you did it) -
Edinburgh V Glasgow (lc) 24/4/15 @7.30pm
SCB replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I've got money on Sheffield to win the PL but I'd get on a plane up to Scotland for an Edinburgh vs Glasgow play-off final -
Theres even more point(s) this season

The thing is. Very few people will read the AGM statement on the BSPA website or the speedway star cover to cover every week. Most speedway fans are going to be the floating type of who turn up each week, or every few weeks thinking the rules are going to stay the same, kind of like they do in 90% of sports. So it would be nice if the blithering idiot on the mic (Peter York) actually informed trhe fans what was actually going on. How having won the meeting Coventry had 3 points and BV could still get a point - but he shouldn't need to do this anyway, the rule should not have changed. It's not too much to expect when you go to a sporting event to have the presenter explain the rule changes is it? After all he is there for the fans, allegedly.

Coventry run 15 heats in 90 minutes Friday. They then had a full junior meeting and a few demo races for the junior juniors in the next hour. We actually got to see about 25 races all together. So it can be done.

When a race is stopped by the referee we use red lights and flags. I'm amazed they don't just get the referee to scream "stop" at the top of his voice in a GP though -
The Mighty Bees Vs Belle Vue 24/04/15
SCB replied to Game On's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You're not wrong there In the last 5 seasons his average in heat 15 is 3.62 (using traditional calculation of averages). Compared to Rorys of 5.02. The man you want in a heat 15 is KK believe it or not, he's top of the heat 15 averages for the last 5 years. Probably the two biggest over achievers are Ben Barker and Bjarne Pedersen though. -
Robins Vs.the Kings Lynn Stars
SCB replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You don't get averages do you? If a rider score 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 then he has a 7 point average. If a rider score 7 9 5 3 11 7 6 8 he has a 7 point average. If a 7 point rider scores 6 and has NOT scored "well below" anything other than some mythical, made up figure in your head. He has scored slightly below it, but the whole point of an average is that some times you'll be a bit below it and sometimes you'll be a bit above it. The trick in speedway is to as much as possible to be above it but the odd meeting below it is not the end of the World and has be be expected. What is poor is scoring 2s and 3s and looking disinterested. I think we can all accept that from time to time a rider will have a bad meeting, what we cannot accept is that from time to time a rider will turn up and no give a damn. Its why Garrity could turn up at Kings Lynn on Wednesday for Coventry and score 1 or 2 but while we'll all be disappointed I doubt anyone will have a go at him because we know he will be busting his nuts of to score more. But there are some riders, you just can't be sure that is true of and it seems Bjerre is going through the motions at times this season according to those who see him. Contract his loss of form to Holders, most people are saying how sad that is because we can clearly see he is trying, it's just not working for him - but his determination to work through it should see him sort it out, while Bjerres giving up will only make things worse. What I will say in Bjerre defence is even when he's riding at his best he looks like a man whos not trying, it's just his style. -
And most years Coventry are the opposite so it looks like they're coming from nowhere but in reality they're just catching up on the meeting everyone else has had. Not so true this year as by next Monday we will have ridden 10 meetings.
-
Well, you would think so wouldn't you? But the BSPa didnt give Danny King a 4/4 average last week but have instead waited for the next set of GSA to come out. So being consistent, Robert wont get a PL average until the 1st June now.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
SCB replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
We can either have Tai as a top 5 rider in the World riding in the EL, or a World Champion and not riding in the EL. Which would you prefer? IMO, if it make him more successful then he has to drop the EL, sadly. -
Just to agree with others, it's licence for individual honours, passport for team. It makes me wonder why he's got a German licence tbh if it means missing out on the U21s, what does he gain from it?
-
So in just over 7 hours the post has 14 likes (plus me making 15) and not one reply disagreeing with the change. I wonder if the BSPA will admit they were wrong?!
-
Must have been a Swedish thing as it's never been the case in the UK or FIM meeting. In GPs it's always been in the case of a tie the higher ranked rider get the nod and in British speedway you share the points.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
SCB replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'd love to see Bale playing for the mighty Monmouth Town -
I dont think thats ever been said. They'll stick with it as long as it suits the promoters. If 20 foreign riders all agreed to ride for £5 a point next season the EL promoters would drop the draft ASAP!
-
Nothing other that rumour that was going around at the end of last year/in the winter. But as posted above, he has no problems being at Lakeside so it's not true.
-
Exactly, you now have Adam who doesn't like the track and can't ride PL because of the race night so probably hates being at Lakeside for two reasons. Would be great for him if he got the sack - he's get a PL place and many other EL clubs would want him too.
