  1. Last year when you dropped Crang he had a higher average with and without bonus points than Konopka. By the end of the season, Crangs average was still higher than Konopka. In Berwicks defence, hes struggled this year and is averaging less than 1 while their other reserve is averaging 4.9
  2. Give Lambert a go and if he scores nothing, well we're not worse off than King and Cook scoring nothing are we? The difference is that experience may be useful of him in future years. Woffy was thrust into the SWC at 17 and I seem to remember Nigel Pearson spunking his pants over him and the way he performed over in Denmark.
  3. Is this the issue? Crump, Rickardsson and riders of that era remember riding GPs at Coventry and Bydgoszczczczcz and being sponsors by "Mr Wongs Chinese" and "Uncle Toms Used Cars" so when they moved into Cardiff and the bigged stadiums they accepted things were not perfect but the sport was now sponsored by KFC and Fiat. They went from riding in front of 10,000 people at Brandon to 45,000 at in the Millennium Stadium - they remember the bad old days. The current lot (Greg aside, and Nicki for a year or two maybe) have only ever known the GPs in the big stadiums so forget what we could go back to. Crump and Rickardsson helped with the change over, riding on a rubbish Cardiff track in year 1 as they say the bigger picture, it would allow the next generation to ride in these big, impressive stadia with big, impressive crowds. Now that next generation have taken over and are complaining at every bloody opportunity. How many riders these days have a reputation as moaners compared to days gone by? Especially those born in Australia! They've gone from Crump who would get upset but he wasn't a moaner, he'd ride on what he was given. Now we have Holder and Batch an d beneath them Watt and Schlein who moan when anything is not perfect.
  4. THIS. This many times over. He had us all lokoing at each of in a state of confusion many time last night. Also, how many times will a speedway meting get to the magic heat 10 and be called off? Speedway is 15 heats, not 10 and if you're lucky 5 bonus heats. Yes conditions were tricky, but heat 10 was a pretty good heat suggesting heat 11 was hardly likely to be some terrible, dangerous heat and the rain had got now worse so visibility was not likely to have got any worse.
  5. In theory you're right but Troy can be good for a few - not forgetting he's ridibg against a struggling Hans 3 times, Kennett knows how to get around Brandon, Bech scored a maximum last season, Lawson was unbeaten in his 4 rides last season until he was squeezed out in 15, Nilsson admitedly has never been great but he's so up and down you just never know. Ellis doesn't have a great Brandon record rither but he's a decent little rider so stupid to count him out. Depends if Boxall rides as he could have the beating of Sarj too. 50-40ish
  6. Frankly I'd not want the cheating, heat 15 bottling, rubbish at most away track Kennett anywhere near my team. The suggestion that a guy who in the past has averaged 8+ twice who's now on 7.xx is not in decline is slightly baffling. That said, Kennett has been a fine signing for Lakeside on his 5.1 average and was always likely to be - if you're happy with a twice caught cheat in your team.
  7. I'm not getting this luck thing. Lakeside had one but if bad luck, the heat 14 EF but had that race been awarded the first time it would have been a 4-2 to coventry meaning 43-41 going into heat 15 and the Bees 5-1 would have made it 46-44 to the Bees. What other bad luck did they have? Coventry deserved to win and did so. Anyone else find it odd that the Danes are struggling this year? Hans, Bech, Bjerre, Porsing and Bjarne. Even Iversen is not his usual self other than at Lynn. Co-incidence or some reason for it?
  8. Bees worst performer tonight? Havelock. Bloody shocking.
  9. I'm sure Long Eaton rode in '97 with Martin Dixon, Paul Lee and Carl Stonehewer. Can't remember the other 3 now. Edit - Brent Werner was one of them.
  10. Was about to moan that there are surely better options available but then Lakesides is even worse. So as it turns out it's better for us. I'm surprised neither team has gone for Ben Morley.
  11. Surely if Davies has a new average then Luna does too, they've both ridden the same number of home and away meetings. Can anyone explain this one?
  12. How odd. In his recent Speedway Star interview Emil was quite adamant that he'd not be riding for Russia in the SWC :/ Oh well.
  13. And have donation buckets no the way out. Throw in what you think the meeting is worth. Should also keep everyone on their toes to make sure meeting 1 is a success, people far more likely to drop a £20 note in and not ask for change if it's a good meeting, but more likely to drop nothing or a fiver in if it's a bit rubbish.
  14. Lets be honest, it's not the first time Rosco has screwed up a team declaration regarding Kildemand. The only shock is that Matt Ford didn't jump in quickly and sign him up by text.
  15. Watch a GP at Newport would be great fun.Weaving in and out of the articulated lorries and storage containers!
  16. Should be Konopka but I bet it's Morely. Can't possibly drop a Pole when you could drop a Brit instead!
  17. Yeah, because when you break down at 4pm it's really easy to hire a van, transfer all your stuff over and get to the track.
  18. I think the pricing is ok for the first meeting, with a hopefully decent line up. They fill that up with anyone they can and get a big pile of cashing, meaning the few weeks after they can charge a lesser price, attract more local newbies.
  19. TBF, this one is confusing. Birks is their riders. They dropped him and brought in Boxall but he got injured. As you cannot have a guest for an rider who has never raced for you they had to put Birks back in. But Birks is riding for Sheffield on Friday so they have to have a guest for him.
  20. I agree. And other than a few jokey comments online have not criticized him but I'm not going to sit here and leave it unchallenged that he's doing OK when he's not. The man himself has said on twitter it was a bad meeting and he let the team down so why shouldn't the fans say it too? It's not as if theres a campaign to get him sacked or anything!
  21. Rubbish.Hans is average 6.5 this season, last season he average 8.5. He's not going "OK" thats pretty bad tbf however you chose to dress it up.
  22. I hope the Bees management have got their preferred rider out of Stef and Morley already booked because Lakeside will need to use the other to replace Ash Birks who is riding for Sheffield.
  23. TBF, it didn't matter. You had won the meeting - thats the heat 15 to give to Rory, the one that doesn't matter quite so much. But I must admit, when I saw he'd been picked I thought, "good just have to beat Puk now"
