  1. Yeah, you bloody interlopers. Coming in, spoiling our fun Another thing, I wonder how many BSF marriages and babies there have been? I knew of a few (or both). I'm off to start a thread on General Discussions to find out!
  2. To quote Clarkson, "Ooh good I’ve got syphilis, the BEST of the sexually transmitted diseases."
  3. Why does he look good? He's not averaged 7 and not finished top 4 in a state final.
  4. Berwick were riding PL in '97. In '95 and '96 they were riding amateur league as back then there was no EL and PL, it was just one big league.
  5. I'm amazed at some of the rider listed on this thread. Good riders, yes. Likeable riders, yes. Your favourite rider, yes. But, "If you could bring back one former rider (in his prime) to inject new life into modern speedway"? Pull the other one!
  6. On the main forums I dont think it's vastly different but the General Discussion we all used to know about each other. We'd chat about our jobs, the car we drove. We knew about pets others had. These days General Discussion is sport and current affairs.
  7. It scares me to think it was so long ago and that the BSF has been around so long! Back in them days we used to have birthday threads, announcements of births, deaths and marriages. The General discussion was a lot more social than it is now. Friendlier/funnier times
  8. Agree with that. I enjoy watching Lewis ride, I think he's generally good to watch. But his attitude and off track antics stink. He needs to sort himself out or he's going to end up in a very bad place. He's lucky that he's been in a career that has allowed him to spend the last 2 months on holiday - what jpb does he think he's going to get thats going to lead to him being able to do the same in 7 or 8 years time like speedway has? I'm still hopeful that a season out of the sport seeing what it's like doing a "normal" job will make him appreciate being a speedway rider properly and see him come back better than ever.
  9. Yes and no. Not EU but Schengen area. I'll be honest, I don't know how it works and have never looked into it because it's never effected me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area
  10. Certainly seems to be at odds with each other. As I see it, both are in the same position.
  11. I think the clue is in the first two words of my post. I've quoted it above for you so that you don't have to go and look for it. For once, it looks like you've got something spot on though. I am guess guessing, but based on previous examples. Most people when found guilty get 18 month bans. It's quite consistent if you look back.
  12. Now we're getting somewhere, we're seeing how good this 14 (or 16 now!) points really is! TBH, I've looked at New Zealand results and generally put that at about NL level - I'd say that makes BWD about a 7 pointer, with a big if improvement as the season progresses he may hit 8.
  13. I think you're all going to be disappointed. It's going to be an 18 month ban in line with all others. That means now 2015 EL average and no 2016 state finals which will mean no 2016 UK work permit. So he won't be back in the EL until 2017 at the earliest and unless he gets a wildcard won't be back in the GP series until 2018.
  14. And if you get a Ferry from France to the UK and it's a quick crossing you can go back in time!!! I once went form Calais to Dover in -5 minutes using your theory
  15. It's entirely up to ever country what non-EU members they allow in and how they chose to do it.
  16. Bloody foreigner then. He should have no problems getting a team place
  17. That argument falls down when 1. Russia didn't send their best 4 (probably not even there second best 4!) so teams could sent any old (young!) rider along to get them permits. And what does riding in a SWC matter? Not riding for Australia could still make you a better rider than if you did ride for Latvia - I believe only 6 riders in Latvia have a licence - so only one of them would not get a work permit!
  18. And if the camera looked straight down, it would show you the land the later stadium was built on and used in the early 50 - that picture is taken right above it! Another photo here, http://dicmortimer.com/2013/02/09/sporting-death/ The school you see behind the main stand, Ninian Park School, is still there to this day.
  19. You're not the first. Middlo tweeted a few weeks ago he was in trouble with the SCB for his tweets. While I think his tweets are in bad taste in a lot of cases I'm not emailing the SCB. They'll make there won mind up having already had them drawn to their attention.
  20. Exactly. It' ceases to be a supporters club when the club run it IMO.
  21. People constantly seem to take exception to him, then get arsey with him when he points out eh was correct. They then deem this to be him being the bad party for having the audacity to be right or for correcting them - the BSF is full of these type of people. They seem to think they can state what they like and it cannot be discussed or argued - odd concept on a forum!
  22. A few years back Newport signed a rider called Shelby Rutherford for their NL team. He score scoring 12, 13, 14 and 15 in Western Australia most weeks. The Newport fans got excited. He come over and averaged 5 in the NL. Because the rider he was beating were clearly terrible. Using your theory of 14 points is good then anyone who scores 15 in one of Scunthorpe amateur meetings must be better. I assume you think he's 14 points in a meeting (where we still have no idea who he beat!) makes him better than any rider who score 00000 in a GP this season? Is a rider who average 9 in the NL also better than someone who averages 8 in in the PL or EL? Scoring 14 points in a random meeting does not make you a good rider. The race where he passed and beat James Sarjeant and Grant Tregoning is giving us some idea of how good he is. That meeting where he score 14, if Ryan Terry Daley scored 15 would suggest that Wilson-Dean is no more than a 4 point NL rider!
  23. We're only half way into the 45 days at the moment. Still plenty of time!
  24. Anyone who has seen Lucifer Sam on a speedway bike would NOT put a Donkey through that torture
  25. If you put me, Lucifer Sam, starman and Gemini in a speedway race 1 of the 4 of us would win it. It wouldn't make us good, it would just make us less bad than the other 3 Just who did he beta for his 14 points? It might be a good performance, it might be a least bad performance.
