Strikes me that Rye have gone with a solid top 4 to steady the ship and score good, solid points. To stop any white washes and keep things more than respectable. Then gone ith 3 very inexperienced lads with a view to building for the future. IMO, the perfect balance and what the NL should be about.

How long does it take Darcy to make a statement? I need a good laugh after the week I've had.
-
Hull were kicked out by their landlords. The only clubs I can think of to fail financially are Newport and IoW.
-
Maybe the bugger at the UKV&I that speedway fans were slagging off recently have worked fast to make sure the sport is not made to suffer despite incompetencies from those running it?
-
no they don't. The BSPA is who confirms they meet the criteria. Why do you think we've had all the crap we just had and clubs had their licences removed?
-
Yeah because the BSPA are perfect and know exactly what they're douing when giving out work permits oh no wait, they messed up badly!! Do forgive me if I don't trust them and worry that they're already taking advantage and we'll see UKV&I investigating again in a few months (maybe years) time but this time they won't be so forgiving or understanding.
-
Sedgemen actually averaged over 7 last season. It's only rolling averages that he "only" got 6.99. From all meetings he averaged 7.07.
-
Where in the guidelines does it say averaged 7 last time they were here? The rules says 7 point average from at least 20 meetings last season.
-
http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28430 Nothing in there says if the rider didn't get an average last season then you use the season before. The rules do say, Now Alexs' record is he has in about 4 seasons over here hit 7 once, when he was a second string and not a heatleader. So I don't see how he meets the first bullet. As for the second, what exception circumstances prevented him from from riding in a few state finals?
-
But why? The rules don't allow for that. Why, having not raced in the UK last season, didn't Alex just ride in a state final? And Kozza try another after failing in the one he did ride in? I get they were prevented from riding here last season by red tape and were a little unfortunate but both had no excuses for not riding in the state finals.
-
While I do agree, the ruels do say exception can be made for injury and before injury Ryan was set to get over 7. He could have averaged 5 in his last 6 meetings and still hit the 7 point average - he'd do that all day long. It's not as if it was only 2 or 3 meetings. 14 is a reasonable figure. Certianly, IMO, a much better argument than Davies and Smith who made the choice not to ride in state finals (and in Kozzas case rode in one and finished 5th!) It's amazing really. Defies belief! But the clubs who gain from it just seem to be happy to have gained from it and fail to see the bigger picture.

TBF, as someone who is often critical of the Star, Darcy IS this weeks news, thus I would expect him to be on the front page.
-
It just strikes me as madness. UKV&I clamp down on the sport and within weeks the sport is handing out dodgy visas. It's like they think they're above the law.
-
TBF to the Fisher situation, the rule do say the BSPA can over rule in the case of injury - I'd say thats a fair over rule situation. He averaged 7.75 from 14 meetings
-
Good luck with that one! Alex Davies' record in speedway has been primarily at reserve, he had one season as a second string. Hardly a great record. Admittedly, he might get away with the second. But I'd say it's tough rubbish. Why didn't he ride in a state final? He messed up, again. So tough.
-
It's not hearsay, he doesn't match the criteria the BSPA posted on their website this morning. http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28430
-
So just how does Alex Davies qualify for a work permit? Didnt finish top 4 in a state final and didnt average over 7 last season.
-
So Kozza Smith doesn't fir the criteria then! hope Glasgow have a back up plan.
-
Has Ty Proctor finished top 4 of a state final the last 2 seasons?
-
The problem is the messed up EL format that creates an imbalance. 6.25 is easy to get as a second string all year but not so easy as a heatleader. Also suggests that Alex Davies and Kozza Smith should NOT have work permits.
-
Who are? UKIP plan to, along with everyone else. UKIP want every treated exactly the same and they want to stop the rubbish but allow the top guys. That'd be bad news for PL Aussies as I see it, as they're not the top guys UKIP want. I doubt any other party* is saying the same as they're all taking a "foreigner bad" line at present due to the emergence of UKIP. *I've discounted the Greens as they stand no chance of any sort of power.

I think all the AP Media websites have lost a few news stories - probably all been restored from a slightly out dated back up.

Thats what I was thinking! Makes it worth £50

How much does an appeal cost? Because I'd actually be willing to throw a few £££ into a fund to pay for it, anyone else? If we offer to pay he can't really so no can he if he feels hard done by. Lets call his bluff.
