Now it's all over. A brilliant meeting, if all meeting were that good speedway meetings would be selling out all over. Superb stuff. Also pleased to see, as Jack Burnicle noted too, that Chris Holder looked like old Chris Holder - he might be a dirty Pirate and the descendant of a criminal (Australian to the Pc brigade) but I like him. Nicki did as Nicki does, Hampel seemed to have no idea what to do, Puk was great to watch and some of the lesser riders had a good ride or moment too. As for Sam and Jack, they're a laugh a minute. They're bad but not annoyingly so. I actually like them, it's like two people trying to sound like they know what they're on about but having to admit from time to time, you know what, we just dont have a flipping clue!
-
Did nobody tell Hampel the rules?
-
Kings Lynn wouldn't be redeclaring. Newcastle are.
-
No such thing. no you don't. That rule is only applicable when the EL team is declared.
-
Great meeting so far. Commentary is awesome
-
The doubling up rules says, "and up to 2 Doubling-Up Riders who must at the time of declaration: a) be in a Premier League’s currently declared 1 – 7, have a PL MA established prior to the start of the season and c) give absolute priority to all British Speedway fixtures." when referring to the EL declaration. There nothing in the Pl section about double upper. When Lynns team was declared Robert was not doubling up. There you go Newcastle and Robert. I've just found you your loop-hole. The double up rules only mater to the EL team at the time of (re-)declaration. Not the PL team.

But he's right. It's the UK that they're representing. Not GB. -
I say it again, for once members of the BSPA, who seem to be quite happy over the years to give special dissension for spurious reasons, for once, do it for the good of the sport in the UK and actually help out a British rider who is being stifled here just for having had the ambition to ride EL 1-5 in his first season. And then we wonder why British riders take it easy and play it safe, it's because if you do try pushing yourself the regulations ** over. Seriously, let him double up!
-
Rose is still 3.00 for a few more days. Also think thats a piss poor team.
-
You must admit, it is a bit odd that a rider who is a PL #1 and EL heat leader is being given cash by fans while some riders made do with just the single wage. That said, it's entirely up to each fan what they do or don't give - there are fans out there who sponsor riders just because they want to rather than for any commercial reason. Each to there own and all that.
-
Even on Monday, when Lambert gets his EL average, he still can't double up. He cannot double up this season at all.
-
I thought exams were over soon(ish) As for Roberts PL average, IF he was to ride PL it would be 3. His EL average is not relevant. His EL average is only 3 because it cannot go any lower. As before, come on members of the BSPA. Do the right thing for once. It's a stupid, pointless rule that serves no purpose.
-
Stupid rule I agree. It's why Ellis couldn't double up at Lakeside and Kerr at Coventry among others. This one does make me sort of agree with Lambert that the BSPA are screwing him over. I know it's the rule but it's a stupid rule and IMO it should be dropped instantly. Let the lad double up. By doubling up at Newcastle you have to fancy he is committing to British speedway (now his GCSEs are over? As I assume they are about now) and cutting out a lot of the German stuff as Newcastle are a Sunday track. C'mon the BSPA, do the right thing for once!
-
1.666 is NOT 1.6. You HAVE to multiply by 0.6 and divide by 0.6, nothing else will do. Lets take a 10 point PL rider if you multiply by 0.6 you get an EL average of 6.00. If you divide by 1.6 you get 6.25. The conversion figure is 0.6. As for Lambert, a rider who didn't achieve an average last season cannot double up.
-
AJ has looked more up for it than for a long time and Lindgren has made 50% of the finals! Bjerre is doing what Bjerre does. He'll thrown in a great round somewhere, maybe 2 or 3 of them. He's a Gp styandard rider tbf. And someone has to come last. If you have the top 16 riders in the World in a meeting, someone is gong to be last. It doesn't mean they "fall below the desired standard"
-
Why do speedway fans continue this one. It's not 1.6. It's 0.6 you either multiply by 0.6 or divide by 0.6. you can't change it by making it 1.60. So if it's true they're getting a big name, thats going to leave 3 3 pointers in the team. Very long tail.

Sheffield V Berwick (ko Cup Restaging) May 8
SCB replied to smod's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You may laugh but I image a "will he? wont he?" story will have made the Sheffield speedway supporting public excited, then anxious, then worried and then relieved as well as more excited than before and could well have worked to whip up some interest and excitement. -

I think you've read my post wrong. Good choice IMO and 4 pretty good riders too. -

The best team available in reality. Looking at that 4, the future not that bleak either really, is it? Or am I just very naive. -

What the hell does Rosco think he's playing at? Clearly he should be saying, "Woffy has been rubbish this year. Dear God help us. Then we have Bomber whos done nothing apart from win Cardiff in 2007. Then what? A PL #1 in Cook and a bunch of arrogant, up themselves, never have been and never will be bunch of pricks that nobody likes. Why the hell did I take this job? ARGH!" -

You'd think the best bit of advertising/promotion they could do for the NZ GP would be to get the GPs shown on tele as live as is possible out there so people get used to it. The fact the GPs are an irrelevance on tele out there make the attendance for the GPs look bloody amazing! -

SCB replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It'll be his PL scores being removed. I can only assume he had an even worse run of meetings about 22 meetings ago that have now come off to be replaced by some poor recent scores.
