Why didn't they just postpone the England game for those watching Redcar to be able to see it? Professional sport my backside! -

But one of them still snuck in! Thanks to Schultz and Gafurov falling and failing to score then Artem Laguta falling while out against King. Well hell of a lucky boy! -

Must be. Because even with 2 lasts, he only really needed 3 3rds to stand a chance of scraping 10th. -

Fair play to Eurosport. I've been quick to mock a lot of the gushing praise of them for the last 18 months but they've pulled this one out of the bag! Also means speedway on freeview. So means as long as you have a digital TV (and who the hell doesn't these days?!) can watch it. -

TBF it's one thing riding club speedway a couple of times a week with a broken wrist and something else to ride on the World Championship. Good luck to him - and the other GB boys. -
Spot on. First rule of project managements is set and announce realistic and achievable deadlines and timeframes for everything. As soon as you fall behind you lose the confidence of others. Yet if you'd been pessimistic in your expectations and over achieved peoples perseption changes drastically. If you over estimate all the time though people learn that you over estimate and take this into account but as this is a one of project (unless the BV managment plan to built many stadiums?!) that was not likely. I just happen to think the PR has been terrible. Constantly failing to meet deadlines and thne dangling tiny, irrelevant bits of news as if it's something major. There are 3 major announcements for me. 1. "We're building a stadium" 2. "We have planning permission". And 3. "we're have all the funding" (2 and 3 are interchangeable). We have had number 1 done properly. I'll say it again, I hope this comes off. It'll be a massive thing for BV and not bad for British Speedway. Kirky Lane is a crap hole thats not seen a paint brush since BV moved in in the late 80s and the track is poor (although they do seem to be rolling that turd in a bit of glitter these days).

Personally I'm just glad Eurosport show us the speedway. -
2014 European Speedway Championships
SCB replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
The FIM can do as they please. It's how it works. And I bet they're actually, secretly, quite happy they've been able to sabotage the SEC. The SEC cab hardly complain after moving dates around and messing up EL fixtures. -

Doesn't matter. SGP > SEC. World Championship comes before everything else. -

Larsen, Thomsen, Nermark and Franc all in. So going to need someone else to replace Gufarow now too. edit > I see Gafurov is "only" reserve so will have in effect have been replaced by one of them guys already. -

I see Cegielski is saying the Poles should stop all riders riding in international competition because the FIM are sabotaging the SEC. Hmmm, now who predicted this? Seriously, the FIM shoudl tell the Poles to do one is Cegielski is going to constantly moan about everything. -
World Under 21 Team Cup
SCB replied to Mr Blobby's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Which seems odd then as Garrity replaced Howarth in the last round of heats, how was that possible if we were not 6 down going into the last race? :/ edit - I'm guessing heat 17 was Howarth and not Garrity. -

Can we assume Gafurov, Nermark and Kenni Larsen plus 1 of Franc, Thomsen, Zetterstrom or Dryml will now replace Anderson, Pawlicki, Janowski and Suchanek? Or will all rider form the qualifiers move up 1 place? So Andersen and Pawlicki replaced by Nermark and Thomsen, Janowski by Gafurov and Suchanek by Larsen? -

The only real good thing to come out of this is the SEC organisers must be pretty pissed off I bet the Poles are already claiming it's a conspiracy -

So because Berwick dont have permission to run tomorrow Anderson, Pawlicki, Janowski and Suchanek will miss out on the SEC? This could be fun! Hans isn't exactly know for keeping quiet and diplomacy! -

So the riders practiced this afternoon. The meeting is now Monday. Riders cannot ride in another meeting once they have practiced. So all those who practiced today are, according to the rules, not riding in Poland tomorrow! -

How many people have had to suffer this kind of crap from Ticket Master over the years? We've had the same experience in the past. You get none of that crap buying form a tout on the day and they don't charge a handling or postage fee either! -

Quite possibly one of the oddest speedway riders. Can win or lose ANY race against anyone. -
Danish League And Ind Final 2015 Streams
SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Take that Nicki -
Just watching him now in the Danish league and his first ride looked like a man who had not raced a bike in anger for 12 months (probably more tbf) but since then he's looked alright. Better than Hougaard IMO. Kept Nicki honest just then without really challenging him but you'd not expect him to. Would IMO be worth signing on his EL and PL average.
-
To be over rated someone has to rate him. Does anyone rate Kasper Lykke?!

"disruption to the local area"? So people are going to complain about being disrupted by 2-3000 speedway fans turning up at a stadium that was built for and has the infrastructure to host 32,000? A few speedway crowds will be nothing like the mid-teens Coventry city used to have there. As for noise, it's a full enclosed stadium, the only gap is the hole in the roof. It's probably not feasable. Running costs are probably too high and the fact a load of seats would need removing around the front the make a track of any reasonable size fit. But the numbers throw about in Manchester and the numbers offered to Coventry City in the last 12-18 months mean that actual rent would be cheaper at the Ricoh. The difference is in Manchester they would get catering but they'd need to sell a lot of burgers to make up the difference. But I'd also imagine you'd get a lot more people pop along to the Ricoh to "have a look" than you would get at Manchesters stadium. You could probably justify charging a £3-4 premium too as you have a seat, won't get wet if it rains, hopefully being enclosed (but admittedly with no roof) you would hopefully be shaded from some of the weather.
-
Would be cheaper too based on the figures released and based on what the Ricoh were offering Cov City!
