Swedish Elitserien 2014 Round 3
SCB replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
1. I dont have to resort to personal abuse. 2. Yes I do think I'm right. Why would I say something I didn't think was right. That has to be one of the silliest statements anyone ever makes in a discussion as the opposite would be, "I sometimes think I'm wrong" - which would lead me to question why you post them things. Surely any time you post you think you're right too? Anyway, a great meeting, as good as you'll see anywhere. Also thought Jack commentary was a little better, he seemed to have done a lot more background research. -

Are you serious? Woffinden went wrong and they went either side of him. A best it was 50% of passes! -

Did you just see heat 12? Madsen went wide, got passed. Realised, pinned it on the kerb and got it back. Doesn't stop it being a good race but the rider on the kerb did well and dud the passing. Edit, What's that, more passing up the inside in heat 13! Want to admit now I was right? -

My point was not that there's not been racing, good racing even. But the riders are showing they're not very clever! -

It's only good racing as the riders leading are thick as rubbish. Park it on the kerb FFS!! Not been an outside pass yet -
He couldn't sign for a PL club until after the season had started or he would not have been eligible to ride NL

A half decent rider for Lambert and Rye House have a pretty awesome team.

Must admit, I look at the standings last night and take out Bomber, and possibly Troy (but as he gets used to the GPs he looks like settling now) and right now, almost any of them could win it. Seriously, pick a winner. For me it's easier to pick out 3 or 4 I think won't do it than it is to pick 3 or 4 who will. I dont see Freddie, AJ or Smoli there some the end of the season and Hampel just doesn't have the head to do it IMO.

But I watch speedway for the speedway. Not there charisma off a bike. Maybe thats why I don't give two hoots about Smolinski and Hancock who may be nice guys but I find pretty boring. Give me a thick as rubbish, rubbish at PR rider who goes out and is exciting on track. Oh and there was a thread on here in the last 3 or 4 months. Most agreed, Greg was pants to watch and most were really not that fussed about it. As I said at the time, on that very thread, imagine you had a race with 4 Greg Hancocks and another race with 4 Nicki Pedersens - which would you watch? Now 4 Gregs vs 4 MJJs? or 4 Gregs and 4 Pawlickis? Or 4 Gregs and 4 Lagutas? Honestly, I'd not watch Greg.

Edinburgh Vs Ipswich (pl) 16/5/2014

Aaron Fox may have picked up a nasty sounding injury but he did technically score a paid max, I guess that means John Campbell was correct, he is better than Manzares who has not managed to do that yet -
Nothing being done because they (reading the facebook groups) think Brandon is a mess and in need or renovation or a new stadium being built. What the naive fools dont seem to grasp is Brandon is one of the bets stadiums in the UK and while the terracing might be crumbling a bit any new stadium won't have terracing but will be grass banking. Some fans seem to think they're going to get some new super stadium. I can only assume these people have never been to another speedway stadium and certainly not one of the "new" stadiums at Somerset, Scunthorpe, Redcar or Leicester.

Didnt Krys Cegeilski go to Belle Vue Doncaster and not Belle Vue Manchester? Certainly happened to a rider about 12-15 years ago.

Anyway, it's not going to happen. So no need to worry about it. -

Well that changes worked wonders. Ooops! #BringBackRoynon -
EL racecard here. You don't need me to post it for every meeting. I don't write 6 paragraphs justifying it and where it's posted every day. Just download it, put the riders names in yourself and use it. It's innovative too because when you put scores in, it adds them up for you! Main reason I'm posting, I was asked about TRs and bonus points not going on for team mates. If a rider takes a TR, put an ! after his score (eg 6!, 4!, 2!) that was any bonus points will appear.

Scottish Speedway And The Independance Vote

Sports leagues are not political. They are private entities that can accept (or reject) entry from anyone they like. The biggest issue will relate to possible work permits. Will an Aussie riding for a Scottish speedway team need a Scottish and Eng/Wales/NI work permit too? -
Phil Morris testimonial. They had speedway riders as passengers n the sidecars. Ben Howe and Petri Kokko clashed coming out of the 4th bend and headed for the inner start gate post, the meeting prizes, the start marshal and the kid who had just won a competition to watch a few heats from the centre green! The HiFi and mountian bike were left damaged! Scott Smith (the Aussie version) crashing into the tractor at Newport and the ambulance at Stoke within weeks of each other were quite funny. And Scott Smith (the British version) managing to wipe out the other 3 riders in a race in separate incidents, within 10 seconds, 2 of them after the red lights come on!

Scunny can just revert to their old 1-7 as pointed out. -

Was the track really that bad? Eastbourne would kill for a track that good -
Actually I think it's exactly the same. The feckless of the UK have taken out massive mortgages they cannot afford forcing up house prices for the rest of us and meaning the BOE have had to lower interest rates to pathetic levels. This means the sensible savers and people who live within their means are being screwed over to allow the financially illiterate to keep their homes. Darwin would be proud! Pandering to the weakest as the expense of the strongest.

Do we have any line up for the qualifier yet? Nothing on the official site. -
No they wouldn't. Where in the rules does it say if one of your riders starts to double up with a PL team you have to redeclare? And you're right, if a PL team signs Toft is legal via this loophole. As BV would not be redeclaring the rule doesn't come into play. There is no such thing as "doubling down"
