  1. Don't you just love it when a rider does everything possible to mess you up? I backed Pawlicki +1 vs Ulamek. Ulamek scores 11 and Pawlicki 3, looks good then Pawlicki crashes and seems to have withdrawn, d'oh!
  2. KK is currently 7 point short of 8th place and in no way at all "secure" of qualifying. In fact, even Emil isn't at the moment.
  3. Having seen 4 riders lock together and smash head on into the Rye House fence I don't believe there is a better fence in the sport. At least one of them would have been carried off in an ambulance any where else.
  4. Surely in the scheme of things, someones lease to run the greyhounds is a minor issue. Few quid and I'm sure he'd go away and leave them to build their new stadium. The issue is planning and I just don't see that changing.
  5. Not sure why the Americans need a 3rd rider, they can just borrow someone elses. As for the Danes, I've heard they'll use R/R for Nicki.
  6. I'm guessing Sheffield will want to wait for their inevitable changes later this month but why the hell don't the BSPA bring in a rule the semis have to be run by the end of June and the final by the end of August? Because we all know the final will be the last 2 weeks of October.
  7. It's not hard, just don't queue to be searched and walk straight in.
  8. I'd second that. Still far from his biggest fan but this season he has impressed me, on and off track. Ive always quite enjoyed watching him ride but he's matured a lot this season and I'm actually enjoying being wrong about him. Someone tell him not to, he's 22, he has another 20 chances at being World Champion. If he goes out now and screws up his shoulder he could end up like Brian Anderssen. It's just not worth it. Sometimes the bravest decision is to know when to quit - even missing the next GP Tai will still finish on the podium in Sept/Oct at this rate. how many riders can claim that in their 2nd season of GP/World Championship racing?
  9. Most people ~I have spoken to said ti was a good idea and something a bit different. I liked it. As for taking drinks in, same at Wembley. They let you take then in but give you a plastic cup and you have to drink it on the concourse before getting to your seat. No food and drink is allowed in the seating areas.
  10. We're our own worst enemies, we continue to pay it. As it was, one of my mates works in one of the bars so I could have had a half price pint or pie but I was on the 2nd bend tier two and he was working bend 4 top tier and there was no way I was going that way even for a £2.20 pint! I just had a sausage roll off dietbowers mrs in the afternoon and had some chips from chippy alley in the evening. who needs stadium pies?!
  11. I cant see how else it can be read.
  12. Yes, that pretty much says to me is if a team declares after May 1st, the rider technically only has to have raced 1 meeting to get an average. Good luck getting to them stick to this rule though.
  13. TBF, that how it works at major stadiums. I went to the Walkers Stadium in Leicester a few years ago for football and couldn't get a packet of crisps! Had to have a Yorkie. Went to Wembley about 14 months ago for the football and had a warm pint of flat lager. Stadium food is always expensive and bad and the bigger the stadium the worse it gets. It's why I was so shocked to find a beer in the Marketta Stadium a few years back used to cost slightly less than the pub outside, as long as you were happy to queue for 30 minutes.
  14. Got as leaflet on the weekend. Basically, this is an NVQ in speedway/sport. It's being aimed at 16-18 year old. At this point I'll point out my most recent job was working for a training provider that provided NVQs so I have some idea how they work. It's aimed at 16-18 year olds as thats where the money is, then there a little less money in training 19-25 year olds and les training 26+. So Jan has gone for the bigger money clients, the 16-18 year old. The issue with that is his literature advertising they'll earn a function skill qual in comms, numbers and ICT. Frankly, any 16-18 year old should have a GCSE in English, Maths and some of them in IT these days so they almost certainly won't need to bother with that. The whole thing strikes me as a load of nonsense that will not help any speedway rider. Also, it's government funded as it's NVQs and functional Skills, I'm not sure they'd be too pleased that the public were being asked to sponsor it too! A waste of time and I think Jan would have been better off avoiding the whole NVQ thing personally.
  15. What guest? As for squad, who do you suggest Coventry sign as back up for KK, Scott, Zengotta, Allen and Robbo? They'd need 7 squad members, as would every other EL team, where do you propose 140ish riders come from?
  16. We had a similar issue in year 1. booked a family ticket +1. Never got the tickets, kept calling up and eventually had to collect them on the day. Predicting what had happened we got in early to make sure that if they had double booked we got the seats we had booked (front row of middle tier). You've guessed it, a family turned up wanting to sit in our seats and had tickets for the seats. Would not use Ticketmaster if my life depended on it and would prefer to go without.
  17. I got myself an £82 ticket for £20. Good job I didn't pay your price fair play to you for finding a sucker who did pay that price!
  18. Easy money! Now just keep betting on the Lakeside riders to get even more easy money.
  19. Bet365 have Ulamek to score 5, he should get 7 or 8, more depending on how Coventry use r/r
  20. Having looked at those hotels, I suggest people stay away from Holiday Inn at Cardiff airport - you're about 15-20 miles from Cardiff. The bets bet looks to be Holiday Inn in Cardiff Bay, £5 in a taxi or a 15-20 minute walk. TBH at £104 for the night it's not that expensive. And if In was going to be spending £150, I'd ignore all the pretty ordinary hotels that are charging £150 and go for the St Davids Hotel and Spa at £176, you're getting a much better hotel than anything on that list at £150.
  21. There doesn't even have to be a fall to stop a race and exclude someone if the referee believes they've believe their move is worth of exclusion. Though I dont think that is relevant in this case, technically in the final KK could have been excluded - let be honest, had he run most riders into the corner like that there would have been a crash so an exclusion was justifiable. I think the main thing with this kind of move is that the referee is consistent, we're discovered we're not all going to agree, I think thats fine, I keep changing my own mind but I think as long as a referee is consistent in his view of these incidents it doesn't matter really.
  22. Ok then, if we're assuming that Vaculik took evasive action to avoid Woffy, Woffy was only taking evasive action to avoid Lindgren.
  23. Vaculk should have gone too then, as there was no contact with him. Freddie made contact with Tai, was it enough? I don't know,. i've never raced a speedway bike into a bend at full speed to know what effect it has take a knock like that but Vaculik took no contact from anyone and still went down but was put back in the re-run. For me Vaculik was a definite exclusion and then Woffy/Freddie was down to individual interpretation and I dont think the referee is going to exclude the British rider who is leading the World Championship at the British GP unless he has to.
  24. Reading it back, you did say. TBF, I'd agree, most clubs seem to fail badly at promotion, even down to simple things like having facebook and twitter feeds - all the kids are on facebook/twitter/instagram these days, make the most of them! instagram could be great for speedway, speedway action shots are actually really good and come across better than a lot of other sports do in a photo.
