  1. People said this would happen with the removal of the bonus point payment. So no surprise.
  2. But you can't watch the EL on Eurosport. BSI arrange for the GPs to be filmed, they then sell that recording on to Eurosport (previously Sky). Sky film the EL and show it on Sky. If Sky don't film the EL then there is no EL action for Eurosport to show.
  3. Stating a fact as I see it. Everyone is thanking Eurosport for providing us with the World feed, the same pictures sky gave us for years and people slagged off. Eurosport have no control over what they get other than being able to switch it off when it suits (as Sky used to do). Eurosport can't show any more than Sky could show and vice-versa. I'm all for the commenting on the preference of showing the feed all the way and not going back to the studio but some seem to be claiming the racing is better and the commentary is better (it was the same two people as normal last night!) and even the camera work is better - if Sky were showing the GPs the camera work would be the same! See Eurosport are NOT filming the GPs, they're just shwoing the standard coverage. AFAIK, Eurosport don't do any of their own filming, they just take the feeds of others so who do you propose films the EL is Sky don't?
  4. I think the racing is better in the GPs this year. I'd like to thank Eurosport for that. Also, since Eurosport had the GPs Thatcher has died, that can't be a co-incidence can it? Thank you to Eurosport for killing Thatcher. I'm also sure the World has become a better place since Eurosport took on the GPs, thank you to them. FFS you bunch of idiots, Eurosport are showing the same feed that Sky used to show. They're not out there filming it themselves!
  5. Did you miss Bombers 4 2nds and a 3rd? Tai performance was very good but Bomber has had a few better GPs since Cardiff 2007.
  6. It's a myth that more dirt = better racing. what makes a track good is when there more than one line, when there not an obvious line that riders can dump themselves on and thats it. I've not been to Leicester to have any opinion on how to fix it but I'm willing to bet it's not just dumping more dirt on it. Anyone who has ridden a speedway bike (even very slowly) on a track with dirt on it will know what effect it has and it's not the one you think!
  7. There was a rule but everyone ignore it last year anyway.
  8. I said in the winter this Plymouth team was my dark horses, I still maintain is Ty can get the hang of the SBA and get going in the PL (he seems to be doing well in the EL) and Kling can pull his finger out that this team can still come good and surprise a few. I think every one of this Plymouth team has shown at some point this season what they can do, now they need to learn to do it together more often!
  9. Seems I may have under-estimated this Rye House team. All the whats if's seem to have come good, fair play to Len
  10. Great meeting so far, good racing and some unpredictability. Tai certainly proving he deserves his place so far this season.
  11. I can only assume it was a mistake as they're offering 1/4 odds for a top 3 place now.
  12. How long do I have to wait to be wowed? To be impressed? To have to eat my words? I believe Mitchells Redcar carer looks like this, 3000000000. Impressive!
  13. So it's ok for Chris Holder to get drunk, fight and take a slash in public but not for Ward? I think that proves the point that the outrage is just because it's Ward.
  14. I guess it depends what you call winners. Winners at sport? Winners at life? What matters most to these people? The cups and medals or the memories? Friendships and good times? Maybe to those you named the good times and memories are the World Titles but to Holder and Ward maybe it's getting drunk and enjoying their lives in another way. Darcy could settle down, be home for 10pm every night (except those where travelling to his next meeting), he could spend every spare second setting up bikes, polishing bikes, washing bikes and working on becoming a better rider. He could win 15 World titles and then retire only to realise the last 20 years have been bloody boring and regret having not go out more with mates, drunk more and partied more. He's enjoying his youth while he still has it and while he's in the enviable position of having plenty of cash to do so. And you seem to be forgetting that Holder is a winner based on your list, he has a World Title to his name so he's not doing a bad job is he? How bad if he can do that and get pissed often? Must really annoy the rest of the GP field, maybe they should start getting drunk more often? It makes me laugh that it's being suggested Darcy has a drink problem, he has no more of a problem based on this incident than a large number of teenagers/young adults. And for the record, I don't like Darcy Ward. I found it mildly amusing when he got a slap (or a wheel brace tot he back of the head - whatever) last year.
  15. The Moran brothers are considered by most to be legends of the sport, yet they spent 90% of their careers pissed. Back in them days they were called characters. Darcy is getting rubbish because he's Darcy this time IMO.
  16. Matt Ford bought a truck loads a couple of season ago. Not sure why, nothing to do with BV back him in the winter of discontent though, obviously.
  17. When it doesn't effect your ability to do you job and doesn't cause harm to anyone else it's acceptable. Darcy, Chris and Troy will still be able to race speedway this week. Nobody was hurt or injured as far as we're aware so it doesn't matter.
  18. Maybe the fighting was between Holder and Batchelor!
  19. How would younger fans know of his drinking habits? They're in bed! Moot point IMO. Doesn't strike me as a guy who could do much damage! He's not very big.
  20. Short of staying in knitting and drinking cocoa thats always possible. Lets be honest, anyone other than Ward and nobody would care. Nobody has mentioned Holder of Batchelor in this other than in passing. Was he a bit silly? Yes. Has he hurt anyone? No. Whats the point of him earning many thousands if he's not able to go out and enjoy it? As for being a professional and acting as one, I'm a professional and as such when I turn up to work I behave in such a way but what I do on a weekend and in the evening is up to me and my boss has no say in it. If this is the worst thing Darcy does this year I'd say it's progress after the last two years!
  21. I love how in the article it says they're role models for kids so should be getting drunk and thrown out of bars - seemingly ignoring the fact that kids wont be in bars at 11.30 anyway to see their role models being thrown out TBH, this is a nothing story. Group of lads get drunk, group of lads get throw out of bar, WOW, who hasn't this happened to?
  22. Speedway should give up on the family sport tag anyway. anything that markets itself as a family sport just isn't, 12 year old Johnny doesn't want to be seen dead with mum, dad, granny and granddad, how uncool is that?
  23. It was reported in the MEN a few weeks back that a new RFL team was to be set up. No idea if it was only a possibility or a reality.
