  1. FFS. People have bene given hint after hint by Phillip Rising. Eurosports website has live speedway in the listing but some of you still don't seem to be happy or convinced. The GP's are going to be live on tele, on British Eurosport. OK thats not 100% confirmed but there enough information out there for me to bet everything I own on such an agreement being announced on Tuesday.
  2. To add to george.ms post, while some are loving Darcys "downfall" some of us do actually care about him as a person and a speedway rider. I love watching Darcy Ward ride race a speedway bike. There is genuine anticipation when he is sat at the start line for me like so few other riders have ever managed to achieve, every time I watch Darcy I think, "did he do that?" or "how did he do that" so when I'm have a moan and a bitch it's because in part I don't want to see him throw everything away, I wnat to continue to be wowed by Darcys freakish abilities on a speedway bike for another 20 years.
  3. In fact he finished 2nd, to Chris Holder. Suggesting had he rode in every GP he would have been World number 2
  4. But you can't complain about the image of the sport and then continue to buy the products that are the image of the sport. If 93% think the sport has an image problem, why do most buy into it then? They're hypocrites. And if you dare suggest ways to bring in a younger audience the old guard complain about it and call you ageist and think you hate old people. Go and take a look at the new speedway magazine thread, someone is trying something new and fresh so in come the old guard to slag it off.
  5. Did the BSPA ever announce it themselves? Or was it another of them "leaked rules" that it turns out was made up? As it never made any sense.
  6. The worrying thing though is if you dare to suggest ways to attract younger people on this forum you're branded ageist and anti-OAP so you might want to be careful what you say, they'll get their walking sticks, flasks and fold up chairs out and attack you. Also interesting that almost everyone (93%) think speedway needs to sort its image out. I bet of that 93% most own a dodgy coat or t-shirt from their local track shop though and do nothing to help with speedways image.
  7. No, this proves that there are other people interested in showing speedway. So we can slag it off as someone else will take it. in the same way that no clubs has closed down in recent years due to there being no potential promoter because we've upset them. It's a silly response. Surely red button is better than obscure channel, how it is any different for us watching? However far less chance of a casual person catching it on motor TV or whatever than if 805 of GPs are on Sky Sports (with the other 20% on the red button). also, we're told the footage will be the same so whoever else gets it will show the same toing and froing to and from a studio.
  8. Said years ago it's a stupid idea that'll never happen. Still dont see that changing.
  9. So Penhall was a recent back-to-back winner. So when Pinny points out that TRick has done ti twice and Pedersen once you say you meant in the one off World finals. Well I can tell you now that Erik Gundersen and Hans Nielsen have each won back to back titles since Penhall has done it and neither did it in the GP era. So if we're not counting TRick or Pedersen due to it being in the GP's (which incidently Holder will be riding in in 2013 and having won it in the GPs in 2012) so what is your excuse with Gundersen and Nielsen? You have this obsession with people not having seen things, you allegedly know more than me as you have seen riders/meeting I didn't but I know that 1) if Holder wins back to back titles he will have done it in the GP series, making TRick and Pedersens wins more relevant and 2) I know that Erik and Hans have each won back to back titles because, despite having not seen most of them, I could, given a year, name you 95% of World Champions (weirdly, the ones I get most confused on are those I have seen!) and that 3) there have been more double World Champions AFTER Penhall than before (Young, Briggs, Mauger, Funding vs Hans, Erik, TRick, Trick and Nicki). Incidentally, more personal attacks I see.
  10. I don't see what they have done wrong. Things are simpler than were being suggested. The biggest issue isn't the rules but fans making up rules than then get taken as gospel. Quite simply, if a double up rider is missing you get the same facility as if any other rider was missing. The only difference is the PL guest has to have an EL and a convert PL average lower than the missing double upper.
  11. Or more likely they just didn't announce everything. "guest"/"facility" are pretty inter changeable. I'm not seeing the issue here if I'm honest, this is makes far more sense than was being suggested/rumoured/announced.
  12. i think the issue here is that too many people listened to TNT. I don't want to say I told you so but.... So a doubling up rider DOES use his EL average when riding in the EL, shock horror. It never made any sense for an EL rider to use his PL average.
  13. I often debate and discuss on here, with most. But you constantly get digs in at people. How is the comment, "No, SCB you are so wrong but saying that you don't even go to speedway now do you" not aimed at me? Anyway, do I know Middlo? No. I don't see the relevance. I don't know Darcy Ward but I know he's a great speedway rider. I don't know Chris Harris but I know he's an entertaining 8 point EL rider. I don't know Bill Gates but he's a very clever successful man. I don't know Lance Armstrong but he's a very clever sophisticated drugs cheat. I didn't basically say he was an idiot, I said he was a wally if he thought all young people get drunk, take drugs and evade the police on unregistered motorbikes. I have also given critical examples of his work, what do you not agree with? That Poole didn't have the best teams in 2010 and 2012? Well the league suggests they did. That Scott Nicholls as a joker is futile? Well look at the number of 0's next to his name when on a joker. That the joker should be played in someone else heat not the riders own? Well look at it this way, you use the rider as ajoker in his own heat and he scores 6, in the next heat your worst rider scores 0. Total gain? 3. No leave the rider in his heat as normal, he scores 3, then replace your worst rider with him in the next heat as a joker and he scores 6, total gain? 7. Your 6 plus one less for your opponents. So come on, argue them points, ignore who has made them, point out what is wrong with them. As for Smoli, I said he was a poor signing as he'd struggle to get 5 and would just about get ti if he had a spell in reserve, his average? 5.05 and he had a spell in reserve. I was right, you said I would be wrong. Your reason for saying I'd be wrong? He has nice green bikes, well he had the same nice green bikes but I was right, he struggled to get 5 with a spell in reserve.
  14. once again, personal attacks from the man who started a thread about attacking people and making the BSF a better place. How about you break the habit of a life time and discuss something. What don't you agree with and why do you think Middlo is so great? Btw, how did Smolis nice green bikes do in 2012. Lol
  15. and brothers. Has anyone signed James Holder this season?
  16. Germany (and Poland) probably won't clash with too many mid-week NL meetings. The more he races the better ATM.
  17. Because the EL and PL promoters are in different rooms. I believe they sort out general business and then split by league, that can't be done if you're running in 2 leagues.
  18. An excellent choice. Been there, done it, got the race jackets but being Italian will be pretty neutral.
  19. Maybe not but whne he's rushing to Poole on a Wednesday after riding in Sweden the day before and he meets the wrong immigration officer and they're both already in a bad mood, the immigration officer may choose to be a bit awkward. Could lead to Darcy missing that evenings meeting. Unlikely I agree but it could get a bit awkward at some time. It's a bit unfair really, my sister mate got done for drink driving about 18 months ago, perfect record other than that. The Aussies won't let her even get a visa to get as far as immigration!
  20. It's a shame to see Steve Boxall in the NL. He'd average 4 in this season EL. If eh really wanted to commit to speedway I think he could walk into the majority of PL and EL teams and improve them. But I guess if he only wants to play at speedway, NL is the place to do it. If Kent do sign Robert Lambert too, they'll have the top 2 riders in the league and Len Silver and David Mason will probably be correct, this team will win the league.
  21. I've never taken any illegal drugs, ever. but as I said yesterday on this forum, I'm not too bothered about anyone smoking a bit of weed, it's the combination of what he did I have an issue with.
  22. It's a statement of fact. He pleaded guilty to using drugs, he's even admitted it in his official statement if there was any doubt the Aussie legal system was misquoting him. Thus he is a convicted drug user.
  23. TBH, I couldn't care less about people smoking a bit of weed, it happens and anyone who thinks it doesn't is very naive. in the same way I don't care if he drinks. Nor do I care if he rides a bike. But pout the 3 together and and throw in racing from the police for good measure and I think he's a very silly boy.
