  1. Well said. Some people love to put down a winner and love it ever more to put down the guys behind the winner who were not quite the winners, despite the fact they're still head and shoulders above many others (Nicholls and Richardson!!!)
  2. The engines are so different once a tuner gets it for the top boys, that the original manufacterer is irrelevant. It only makes a difference to the lower riders. the top tuners take so much out of an engine and replace it that Gollobs engine is no longer a GM, just a speedway engine with a GM case!
  3. And? He made the semis by scoring one more point than AJ and Adams so only deserves one more point. Personally, I think it's wrong the riders int he final get so many points. Why do we need a final and a semi-final? 16 riders having 5 heats each, they meet each other rider once, so the top scorer is the one who has beat the others the most, why doesn't he win?
  4. 2 GP's now I where I ahve had money on 3 riders, all 3 riders have made the final. Both bloody times Tony goes and wins and ruins my fun. I hate the guy He really is awesome, I remeber about 2001ish he went thought a period of being unbeatable and I remember saying he was a machine but he is a million times better now. He is making Crumpy and Pedersen look poor. Even whe Tony has a poor meeting (12 points from 5 then a 2nd in the semis followed by a win = poor!!! ) he is too good for the rest. All Tony has to do is score as many as Crumpy (or more) in the next GP and not let Nicki score too many more and he's World Champion, WOW, now someone tell me, honestly that he is not the greatest speedway rider ever.
  5. That Lee Richardson is a gating tart who constantly lets us down in the GP's HaHaHaHa!!! 4th and 3rd to 1st and 2nd, NICE!!!
  6. Nicki went into the corner not turning, hit Trick/Hampel and took them out and was only turning by mid track on a track where he knew everyone would be heading for the inside!!
  7. So we won't have any riders in the GP for the next 5 years, where Scott Nicholls going? He may not be in the top 8 for an automatic place but he is certainly one of the best 15 riders in the World so will get a place because of BSI nomination. Does anyone honestly think Scott is not GP standard and that there is another riderwho's not in the GPs that would do better than him? Far too many people are seeing he is not in line for an automatic place next year and that he'll need a BSI nomination and assume that means he's not good enough, well he is!!!
  8. I really do hope they manage to get a proper farewell to the Country Ground meeting arranged for the end of the season. If they could get back a few of the Exeter stars of the past to have a couple of laps and then get in some of the Exeter specialists of today for the main meeting, it could be an absolutly great meeting and I'll be doing all I can to attend.
  9. It's a shame you got an idiot like you described next to you. I can however assure you that Cardiff does still have a great sense of 'belonging'. Every year I have got to Cardiff early afternon and wandered around (the last 3 years I have met people form this very forum) and had a laugh, chat and bit of banter with any number of people, including a Stoke fan I once met at Stoke and got chatting to (we both recognised each other about 3 years later!). Only last year I sat in the stadium on the back row and in front of us we had a group of Poles, again, we had a chat (in very broken English) and we let them know what we thought of the different Polish riders. It seems you have been unlucky, next year you'll have to find out where the people on this forum are meeting as I can assure you, you'll have a great time, my parents both enjoy coming down to Cardiff to have a chat with the fans from this forum and they hardly know any of them. Last year they actully went down to Cardiff for the pre-meeting meet up and then went back home to Newport to actually watch the GP on Sky.
  10. Buy child tickets. I got a child ticket as I didn't need a programme (and it was part of a family ticket)
  11. So at least 2 Welshmen beat the Scottish, nice We also had the 2nd ever double World Champion, bloody Aussies won that race tho, is there anything they can't win in sport?
  12. It's a bit like asking if some reasonbaly good footballer would make a good rugby player. I can't work out why Tim is intrested, the one time Marco tried to slide the bike at Newport in the short track he high sided it on the 2nd bend.
  13. Were Loram and Pedersen the best riders in the World the years they were World Champion? If you ask me, over the last 10 years Tony and Crumpy have been the best 2 riders in the World but Loram and Pedersen have interloped and stole 2 World Championships off them and all credit to both guys for having the ability to do so.
  14. Consistency? So far between them they have made ONE semi-final this year but other than that have consistently (yes, they're bene consistent) scored 4-8 points in each GP. Why wouldn't BSI want Scott though? It's not liek he has been struggling for points, I think he is one of the top 16 riders in the World so he is NOT banking on BSI's charity, he IS worthy of his place, he's just not a title contender, he is a rider capable of 8-12th place, surely thats means he is worthy of his place. BSI should kick out Chrzanowski, Richardson and Sullivan next season and bring in 3 of Bjerre, Zagar, Iversen, A.Dryml, Kasprzak. So what if it means a disproportionate amount of Danes, they all deserve to be there but i think they'll both lose out, simply because there are so many Danes and having 5 in the series would not be a good marketing aspect.
  15. There's willing to believe and wanting it to happen. I'd love to see Scott winning a World Title but realistically, he is not good enough, to be in with a chance of being a future World Champion he has to be making the odd final at the least. At least Hampel, Andersen and Lindback make the odd final so just need some consistency, Nicholls is a consistent 9th-12th place GP rider.
  16. Are we still using this one? It was said about 5 years ago, then 4 years ago, then 3 years ago, 2 years ago and it was used last year. By the time he retired he may have been a top 8 GP rider at some point in his career.
  17. Anders Nielsen was in the Speedway Star a few weeks back looking for a PL team place, does anyone know what his last average was? I assume it was in the one big league so it would be multipied by 1.5 for PL purposes and as he has been out injured he'd have an 8% reduction on that.
  18. Puk was in the semis last year, I think he come 5th/6ht in the end as he come 3rd in the semis, now as he is a better rider than last year, he should make the final. Fingers crossed.
  19. Iversen is worth £1 each way on skybet (80/1), I think AJ is due a final aperance too and he may just win it.
  20. that was last year, this year he wasnt to bad
  21. loverly Mr Davis he will be at reading with me when workington are down dont think that t-shirt will be worn again tho i remember who you are now jay jill.
  22. Does it mater who won what heat? NO. As long as each and everyone won of them enjoyed themselves and had a good time, it was a success. Even the people who did break down, at least they got the chance to be part of the action and part of one of the biggest speedway meetings ever and know what to expect now in 5 years time (there's pressure!) when we'll be watching them in the main meeting.
  23. You could not have been far away! We could not move on that damn train. The annoying thing was the train stopped and we had the door right by us, IT WOULDNT OPEN!!!!! A well.
