  1. If I was a speedway rider and Tai Woffinden invited me to any sort of training (apart from media/PR!), frankly invited me anywhere I go, I'd follow and I'd copy. I certainly wouldn't ignore his offer. If the rest can't take advice and help off one of the best riders of recent times then they're morons!
  2. Like? Lets stick to facts, the guy is a walking disaster but how many clubs has he closed down? Peterborough he sold to his brother mid-season, who in turn sold to Rick Frost mid-season, who then left the club for dead until Horton come along and gave them another season before leaving them in a mess but that was no different to where they were when he took over. Mildenhall, bought then, took them PL, sold them to Simon Barton. Yet 18 month later the oh so wonderfuil Buster Chapman bought the club, stripped the assets and left the club for dead. He's made some shocking claims, said some stupid things but I don't get all this closing clubs down nonsense.
  3. But he does state that funding was list that the BSPA were involved in in some way. Maybe the rumour that Tsunami has been doing his best to rubbish was true? Or maybe just another lie. I do know that statement has for me, done Horton more damage than good. If this is defence before anyone else has had anything to say then Christ it looks bad for him!
  4. He can point all he likes but theres definitely one lie/fib/bit of false information in there! Kenneth Bjerre posted at 5pm he hadn't heard from anyone at the club for 24 hours.
  5. He doesn't mention not trusting Horton 🤔 He says he trusts Sandhu and Colin Pratt. All the hints coming from those in the know suggest the issue is Brandon Estates.
  6. Fine, ignore what Dave Rowe has to say. You know better. https://twitter.com/daverowe01/status/835835763363295234 The one that says Mick Horton always wanted Stockcars, and as Stockcars = Avtar Sandhu.... It's not difficult to see who is to blame here but one or two are either too think to see it or just not opening their eyes. Clue - It's Brandon Estates!
  7. That is NOT the issue here. It's political.
  8. Would be nice if we could ride in the Pairs on the 30th 31st March too.
  9. As the Sky deal requires 8 teams it would have been worth compensating Leicester to take Coventry for the season from the Sky money.
  10. The loss of Coventry is a massive blow to British Speedway. Coventry fans are some of, if not the best away followers in the league. They now have to be replaced. As the club with the biggest fan base the average attendance in 2017 is going to be down. I can see Rye House being the biggest winners from Coventrys demise as a few Bees fans will go to Rye on a Saturday to see probably the two most popular Bees of the last 10-15 years and Robbo is well liked too.
  11. Well you have never been too keen to eat pizza and burnt the top of your mouth on the hot cheese!
  12. Surely if Sandhu sold it after failing to develop it and now Brandon Estates are selling it's not likely to be built on or one of them would have managed it by now.
  13. Thought the same! Why would the value of it gone up? The price of commercial building/land has dropped in recent years.
  14. Id back Riss, Klindt, Sarjeant, Bates, Huckenbeck and Allen ahead of him. People are saying Sarjeant is a crap signing but he's younger, has about 3 seasons less senior (EL and PL) experience and even if his worst PL season has averages more than Branford has ever manged. Really not getting the hype. Except he didn't outscore Sarjeant at all. He average 0.1 less and that was riding in reserve vs riding at number 2.
  15. I love watching the big names, I'm quite a snob and would pick GP and EL over NL every time but whenever I tell of two of my favourite races they come 1 from the CL (now NL) between Scott Peglar and Jon Armstrong in heat 13 of a Newport vs Mildenhall meeting and the other was heat 2 of a PL meeting in 1999 between Newports Bobby Eldridge and Berwicks Freddie Stephenson. So actually, you don't need names. While they're great they're not the be all and end all. And how anyone can not enjoy watching the list of riders waihekeaces1 has just listed I do not know. Could probably add a few more too.
  16. A Coventry side that contains ex Leicester riders Garrity, Lasse, Kerr, Bates and Sarjeant. Plus I imagine it being a track that suit Kenneth and Danny King is OK there. There more of a Leicester feel to this Coventry team than a Coventry one with Bjerre, Bjerre and Kerr being new riders! Garrity for a start is much better at Leicester than Brandon and thats as an away rider.
  17. All this thread proves is nobody really had a clue. Kings Lynn seem to be highly rated but I'm not seeing it. Holders average can only go one way, Lambert is decent but Batch has lost it and has done nothing to suggest he's going to get it back. Porsing couldn't get 7 in the PL last year and Rose should be OK. Huckenbeck was crap everywhere last year and they have experienced in reserve. Better than Swindon and Somerset though who between them only have Jake Allen and Adam Ellis that are decent signings. Rye House have a solid top 4 but they're hardly moving in the right direction are they? Weak at number 7, not bad reserve but still a few that are better and Robbo is just a bit meh as a signing these days. Poole have a great signing in Klindt, the two young Aussies are going the right way generally and Newman is a steady plodding rider. KK and Hans are as good a top 2 as you'll get. Shane's looks like the pick of the two pointers to me. Leicester have a smashing signing in Lebdevs if he takes to British tracks and is committed. You never know for sure how a new foreign rider will perform but well worth the risk. Kim Nilsson throws in too many lasts to be a decent number 1 but Riss is a decent signing. In fact as a reserve he's brilliant. Auty is just Auty. Wolberts poor and Ayres is poor value too. Wolves have Freddie on good value but that's negated by Thorsell whos poor value but I do like him and think he's a decent little rider. Average is biased by riding as a second string more than most on his average though. Masters is a tidy signing and Skornicki is more likely to be good than bad. Howarths an odd rider, I don't rate him but he did alright last year despite having a poor spell mid season. Clegg and Greaves are a terrible reserve pairing only beat to the title of leagues worst by Swindons pair. Coventry have a good number 1 on a bargain average in Bjerre, a solid number two in King who unlike most on his average spent all of last season as a heat leader. Garrity isn't great value on paper but his away form is pretty decent and he IS entertainment. Lasse Bjerre is another bargain, a prove 8-9 point PL man and 6 point EL man who had a tough 2016 coming back from injury and being at a club he had issues with - Watt aside I'm not seeing a better second string. Kerr had a good end to last season after coming back from a terrible injury in 2015, not the best signing but still a better #5 than most teams. Then we get to Sarj, he had a poor EL season in 2016 not helped by the fact that when he run into some form he ended up in the 1-5 and lost his form. How many other reserves have 1-5 experience? Christ most of them don't have much 1-5 PL experience and a dozen meetings aside for Glasgow Sarj has always been a second string at PL level. Probably wouldn't have had him back myself but I'm not sure why people think he's as bad as they do. Then at number 7 we have Josh Bates who is a decent signing and I expect to clean up at reserve against everyone except Poole and possibly Leicester. On his day CAN and does beat anyone. 1. Poole 2. Coventry 3. Rye house 4. Wolverhampton 5. Kings Lynn 6. Leicester 7. Swindon 8. Somerset God knows what route BV are going down but in Fricke, Cook and Worrall they should have a good top 3 and in Bewley a decent reserve.
  18. If anyone was unlucky to ride against TRick then it was Crump who had how many second places to him? 3 I think. I dont think any rider has more Speedway WC silver medals than Crump!
  19. I would imagine the agreement is to not charge less But that may be why. Also Aces51 makes a fair point. If it failed last year Mick might be reverting back to how things were before.
  20. This old chestnut. "Give them a chance". No, how about people prove their worth before being given a chance. Why don't Edinburgh just sign me? People can cry, "just give him a chance" then.
  21. Does seem to be at odds with what was claimed last year! No discount last year as OAPs were only getting slightly less than working people, now its suggested OAPs are better off than working people they get a discount
  22. There was always a credible promoter (and if he's reading this he's probably shocked to read me post that after some of my comments about him!) in place and ready to take over from some point during last season. But the BSPA jumped in and scuppered that one
