  1. Length of service? He's shorter than 6'11" so Championship gets priority? Chris Louis beat Mick Horton in a game of paper. scissors, stone? I think we could be left guessing for a long time!
  2. Why not just have 15 one lap dashes?! In fact get rid of engine and make the riders peddle around
  3. No. 30-odd years of attended speedway has lead me to this conclusion.
  4. Give him a chance? Didnt you read my post. He tried to kill my club in 2010 along with Peterborough and left Mildenhall for dead. Why should we trust him?
  5. Exactly. And he'll have finished what he started in November 2010.
  6. Lets be honest, Chapman is half the reason we're in this mess. When we had trouble in 2010/2011 Chapman took his pot of gold from the BSPA to move up from the PL to the EL keeping the numbers and basically not giving a crap about Coventry and Peterborough surving. All the crap going off now stems back to the 2010/2011 debacle. This is the same Buster Chapman who bought Mildenhall from Mick Horton, stripped the assets and dumped the club. Yet somehow it's Mick who gets crap for trying to kill Mildenhall. So Chapman has left Mildenhall, Peterborough and Coventry for dead in the past. Sorry but I don't like the guy.
  7. Surely he arrives with Middlo? He's so far up his backside I doubt he's ever out of there!
  8. Got to defend Stevebrum here. I've had many spats with him over the years, we rarely agree but at least he's capable of coherent arguments and doesn't take things personally. I might not agree with him but he's one of the BSF good guys IMO.
  9. The initial "deadline" was for Mick Horton....
  10. If a rider buys a BSPA funded GTR can he use it abroad?
  11. Because Brandon Estates called in the police and that meant no lease could be signed. Apparently.
  12. HaHaHaHa! Have they turned the computer off and back on again?
  13. I heard Donald has some big party/meeting later today, maybe he'll announce it then?
  14. The nth degree would be March 15th, thats still 8 weeks away! I think 8 weeks is plenty if the news in the next week is that we're running. Most people won't care by March when we're stood watching speedway moaning the season has started too soon as it's cold and wet!
  15. If what I'm hearing is even half true then the BSF is going to go into meltdown (good news for the Bees BTW). I know this is a bit "I know something nerh nerh) but I've heard so many stories in the last few months it's probably not true, it's just that the latest has made me laugh and then smile a lot.
  16. From a personal POV, thats a shame. But from a financial POV that makes sense. The NL boys will ride for the £10 a point required to make it work.
  17. Two groups of 5. Format can be worked out that in each heat 1 of the teams isn't represented. Top 2 teams in each group to the final. League 6 teams out, so top 3 from each of the 6 teams into an individual meeting. OK thats 18 rider but you just know at least 2 will withdraw! At first I didn't like it but I hope they do Group A and then Group B as two separate meetings. It worked well last year.
  18. Thats the ideal! But if you can't gte that give me a rider that score 9 and 1 over a rider that score 5 and 5. I want to win at home! And the riders only has to have 3 rides away from home too so his average will likely go up based on that bias. Also lets not forget that Joes scoring got better and better at home last season so he's better value than before. His PL average is also lower than his converted EL would have been too. Just an all round bargain for BV IMO. Plus as a rider I like young Joes style, I think he's got something good going on there.
  19. I remember as a younger lad in the mid-late 90s sneaking off upstairs with the phone to call the club hotline* to see how we were doing in away meetings. It was that or wait for teletext to loop around the 8 pages only to find the result had not been updated and have to wait for it to look around again! Ah, the good old days *and then getting told off when the phone bill turned up
  20. Which is exactly the rider clubs need. Win at home and 95% of your fan base will be happy. Anything you do away is a bonus. Get the home wins in. It's stupid winning 3 or 4 away meetings but losing 4 or 5 at home.
  21. That makes no sense. If Sandhu/Brandon estates wanted the speedway out they could have just said so from the start. Why all this convoluted mess and involving the police?
  22. This is a damn hard issue to avoid! You either find riders trend towards 6 or towards 12/0. It takes ages to find value that work.
  23. He could drop down. The issue was Birmingham wanted him on double hi PL average but the BSPA said it was his CL average from about 2005. So rather than about 8 he was about 10
  24. The Aces get some great news and the first thing on most Aces fans minds is the future of Coventry. Thats why speedway is a great sport, the people. Lets hope that the good wishes come true.
