  1. All being well I'll be there so it's not certain yet but I hope to be there.
  2. Some of us have already travelled 460 miles for speedway. And I consider myself a casual fan these days Another 110 to go Friday as well! I must be mad!
  3. They are racing 500cc motorcycles without brakes. It's dangerous at the best of times. They should be capable of riding within themselves if they dont have the confidence in their ability. What came first, the track to which the riders raced on or racers who produced a track to suit their racing? They get given a track, they should work with it.
  4. My job often means 12-14 hour days sat in dark, cramped and cold TV galleries. Its frankly rubbish at times but I suck it up because the pay is good and I love knowing the end product is going on and people will love it. Yes I could work in a nicer, warmer, lighter office but what I produce won't be seen by even a fraction of the people and I'll be paid less. DO I complain about my work conditions? Yes sometimes but mostly I accept it for what it is and just smile when I see what I'm paid each month. Speedway riders should do the same. And my work, or at least the projects I work on are ripped to pieces by the public on twitter and even in national papers, speedway riders, the delicate little flowers have it easy if a dozen people bitch about them online! Work places are NOT there for the benefit of the workers to earn a living, they're there to produce a product for paying customers. Every single one of them, speedway riders and speedway teams are no different.
  5. Good! Because their website is pretty naff.
  6. Except we're meant to be a serious sport now that people can bet on. By messing up the format they had a serious effect on betting. A footballer was sacked a few weeks ago for eating a pie that effected betting, surely this is far more serious?!
  7. If you attend a South Track Riders meeting these days (admittedly nearer 10 years ago for me now) they have the riders for the next race lining up at the tapes as the riders from the last heat are pulling into the pits! No messing about. I remember seeing 60-odd heats in a little over 2 hours and that included trophy presentations at the end for about 5 or 6 classes. But those riders have paid to race and just want to race.
  8. How can he wrong format be allowed to be used? We have people betting on the sport and this kind of rubbish is allowed to happen 🤔
  9. Fan. They're the ones paying to see the entertainment, the riders are doing a job and are paid well for it so should suck it up.
  10. It long been a pet hate of mine but these days, working 2 hours from the nearest speedway tracks (taking into account traffic conditions) the last thing I want after having been in work all day is to get to a track, eat a manky burger that just cost £5-6 and then stand around for 2+ hours knowing I have to travel home another hour or more after the meeting. It just puts me off attending. They can't do anything about how far I work from a track and there probably very little they can do about the crap food on offer but they could get meetings over in a timely fashion so I can be home at a semi reasonable time so I can eat when I get home. If it irks me, how much does it annoy and put off kids and far more casual fans that me? That said, I am only a causal fan these days, they need to be asking why.
  11. Anywhere. Been to a few of them over the years and I see its come up again today at Simon Lamberts testimonial.
  12. Kings Lynn? It's it 2005 again? Because Kings Lynn has been crap a few years now. As it is, I quite like Poole, more often than not it's good but it seems to have it's share (and then some) of issues. Agree Monmore and Peterborough are better, as are Somerset, BV and Scunthorpe but Poole would certainly be up there in a list of good race tracks from a spectator POV, personally I couldn't care less if a track is a bit bumpy, rutty, grippy, slick, inconsistent or anything else as long as there is passing!
  13. .... is that is killing the sport. Meetings should take between 90 minutes and 2 hours to run, seriously, sort it out!
  14. Technically no facility is allowed but the BSPA/SCB rightly use common sense. I'd be amazed if R/R wasn't allowed.
  15. Bewley and Bjerre Bewley and JPB JPB and Jenkins If it's cheating/boring having Bewley and JPB twice I'll swap them for Bates and Schlein.
  16. Having read the press release in the Lions site good for them! Taking no crap from Poland.
  17. I get dropping Wolbert but Lebdevs is an odd one as he could have been a very good signing. Still pleased to see that 3 of the 7 Bees have now got team places.
  18. Well he's only poor not terrible as a signing then No it's not. His job is to score 4 points a meeting. Take into account the point limit is a higher than breakeven then you can bring it down to about 3.3. He's not going to do that IMO.
  19. GB tend to have a round most years. Are we really that bad? I thought we had a reasonable number if GP qualifiers.
  20. He should be, having taken up 2.5 points more than almost all others. He's still a terrible signing as he won't beat any of the other teams top 6 either. They are protected, they have to ride at number 7 meaning they will ride against the opposing number 7 3 times and the opposing number 6 3 times. Plus 2 of the 2,3, 4 or 5 depending on if they're riding home or away.
  21. Smith will do well just because he's so good at the NSS. But most do the 2 pointers will struggle to beat anyone other than the other 2 pointers.
  22. Doubt it. Newport '99 had 16 year olds Appleton and a Neath, 17 year olds Nick Simmons and Graig Gough, 20 year old Bobby Eldridge. Sadly I can't remember the other two but they'd have had to have been well into their 20s and that's unlikely as they would probably have been the reserves.
  23. Great, rubbish rubbish burger for lunch, rubbish burger for tea. Or sporting events could run on time and then I could eat somewhere decent between meetings.
  24. TBF he only beat 1 rider of note for that 9 points. He's going to struggle to score there in the EL, he will at most tracks this season but if he can sneak the odd point away and get 2 at home every week he'll have pretty much done his job. But Klindt should be scoring 12-13 from 5 at the start of the year.
