  1. I was there early and had the joy of standing around for 40 minutes bored. So to then have to endure a prolonged introduction of riders with sound bite interviews about how sad everyone is when we were told the meeting was being brought forward to allow us to get to Wolves it was a bit of a piss take! As for Peterborough York, I've learned to block to idiot out. I though the one positive of losing Brandon would be losing him :/
  2. Why? We got in the queue at 11.35ish and got in at 11.55. It took 20 minutes. But honestly, why is it STILL an issue? Peterborough is the only place this happens. Twice as many people at wolves tonight and no queues. Why? Not having two slow women on the turnstiles helps! And having piles of £1 coins to give as change quickly too. Wolves for PKs farewell actually. Having arrives at Peterborough at 11.30 and not getting out of Wolves now until 8pm and thanks to he shambles that is Peterborough Speedway some of us have not had a chance to eat a decent meal today. Had the meeting been over by 1.45 as it should have been it would have allowed us to eat between the meetings. Still annoyed at the queue farce this morning.
  3. So we started 30 minutes late because people couldn't get in due to the lack of people on the turnstiles. Then when they started he parade, late, thy record to interview all the riders. We'd just had 30 minutes of nothing happening, why the bloody hell were the interviews not done then? Then we had 12 minutes between the last two heats, what was that wait for? They knew fans wanted to get to Wolves. I bet later in the season Peterborough will be complaining about a lack of fans attending. Well making people hang around will be why. It happens every time I go to Peterborough. You can get there 30 minutes before start time and you're lucky to get in by start time. It's been this was about 10-15 years now, how long will it take to sort it?? So, negatives aside. It was a pretty good meeting, a few from the gates but always the chance of a pass but heats 10 and 13 were top class speedway. 5-2 to 7-1 to 1-5 in heat 10 and God only knows in heat 13, ended in a Bees 5-1 with Bjerre going last to 2nd on the last bend. I know it was only against a Championship team but Sarj aside every Bee showed just how good this team would have been this afternoon. So yes I started with a moan, the meeting wasn't rushed enough but I bloody loved it!
  4. You borrow from, you lend to. Horton took Peterboroughs airfence to Coventry was the implication.
  5. Holder, Holder and Kurtz started at Iow, Plymouth and Somerset (& Denmark before that). Crump, Adams and Boyce have retired having between them only missed about 3 season of British Speedway.
  6. Could certainly get a train quicker form Temple Meads! In fact you'd almost be in Cardiff by the time the coach was just leaving Bristol! And you'd save £3!
  7. Nilsson has raced there for Newport.
  8. Out of curiosity, how many Aussies have Poole brought on and nurtured? Thyey have signed up any Aussies that have started out in the PL when they have got good enough. So the PL has for years been used as a stepping stone for Poole yet now Poland want to use Poole as a stepping stone it's bad. It's how it works. Learn to ride in Aus, hone skills in the PL, move into the EL where they become the real deal before moving to Poland. Yet it's funny how its only just because an issue because it effects Poole
  9. True BV team is full of so much talent, if it doesn't win anything this year you have to fancy bulk of it will be back for years to come. Fricke, Bewley and Smith all seem to be the real deal while Worrall and Cook are nice riders to have in your team - both are commited riders who just want to win. Bjerre is a fantastic signing for this season on that average. It's just Sedgmen I don't "get" and he won't be the worst 7-8 pointer in the Premiership. And if he doesn't do "it" then there's always he likes of Schlein, Berge and MPT.
  10. Are my facts are wrong? Disprove them. I've given no opinion in my post, in fact elsewhere I've said in the forum he's a ok signing for Rye House. Doesn't change the fact that he's not better than Bates as claimed.
  11. Plus I'm sure sure, even if they could include him, why they would Richie Worrall. That's a staggeringly high average that he won't achieve.
  12. Sky Sports can be cancelled any time with a months notice. So you can always drop back to the basic £20 package.
  13. You Rye fans keep posting these "facts" about Brandord average butt they're all made up. Branford averaged 1.08/1.23 in the EL and 5.42/6.14 in the PL all from reserve. Bates was 4.76/5.08 and 5.53/6.12 so depending on what figure you use Bates is higher or the same yet Bates spent 95% on the PL season in the 1-5 and a few meetings in the Bees 1-5 but Branford spent all the season in reserve in both leagues, with one exception, one of his EL meeting was at #1.
  14. So don't donate. It's entirely up to you. As it is NSSC have over the years donated thousands to various (Bees) from 50/50 sale and this is no different really, just the money is coming in a different way.
  15. HDMI and Chromecast = modern technology? That sums up speedway and it's luddite ways
  16. On a Sunday afternoon it shouldn't be a problem at all.
  17. Like others I'd seriously consider buying shares in the stadium* if it was the route that has to be gone down. But I don't think the issue at the moment is finances. *Not the speedway club!
  18. Can change hour to hour in my area! Not just a few days!
  19. Maindy Stadium is now Maindy Baths! But right behind it is a great oval layout! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Maindy+Centre/@51.4968475,-3.190269,315m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x22b37417e8f8465e!8m2!3d51.4966011!4d-3.1913591 And this is the Penarth Road track these days. A road called stadium Close, you're looking at what would have been the 3rd/4th bend. And you're right, it's easily wakable from the centre, obvioulsy people were lazy in the 50s I make it about 1.5 miles so a 30-45 minute walk. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150776513881539&set=a.113700686538.127405.700656538&type=3&theater
  20. At one point there was an indoor track, and at another point it was outside. God knows if it's still in the plans and in what state. Certainly wouldn't be capable of hosting weekly speedway. Ebbw Vale is a rubbish hole that nobody wants to visit, the people there are generally as poor as it gets and there are no jobs (I'm sure Ebbw Vale was fairly recently top of the British towns/cities list for % of jobless), the locals certainly wouldn't be able to support it. And if Newport couldn't drag people from Newport, Cardiff and Bristol then a track 20 miles further away on crap roads isn't going to get any support.
  21. Woe betide anyone who suggests doing anything about it though!
  22. Brilliant for me if true. Been struggling to justify the excessive cost of Sky lately but was keeping it for the speedway but if it's only on BT Sport I'll watch BT Sport for free (well a £30 BT TV connection fee) with my BT broadband. Id say it's bad for the sport being on a TV channel with less subscribers but the sport is fecked anyway, just a matter of whne not if its going to kill its self.
