Riss broke the rules and received the appropriate punishment. The replacement rider score 2 points, it's debatable that Riss would have scored more. That said in 5 completed heats in this season Championship Riss has not been beaten by an opponent!

King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership
SCB replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This could well be a 60-30. But as semion says, people wrote Somerset off last season and look at what they did. I hope they prove me wrong and go on to have a decent season, would be great to see a club that started only 15(?) years ago in a field in the NL (CL then), won a few things in the NL, moved up to the PL and after struggling to begin with come good. If they could go on to be one of the top EL clubs it would show that with a bit of time, effort and dedication you can make it. -
GPs = ready to raceLeague = on way to tapes Or something like that I believe
-
Quick maths says that doesn't fit. Howe is about 6.5. I'd certainly be looking at Schlein for Thorsell. Then have Ash Morris or Adam Roynon at reserve.
-
So they don't include bonus points. And they were rolling. Really not indicative of what a rider achieved in a given season.
-
Where did you get them figures? 8.48 in 2012 and 8.30 in 2014. He got 7.48 without bonus points in 2014
-
Really? Troy has been (with bonus points) an 8.5 man from 2011 (possibly before but I dont have the stats) until 2014, 2015 he dropped to 7.5 and 2016 he dropped to 5.5. His form dropped off a cliff after the Ward crash. I'd see that one off GP as more of a decent rider who has a good day. A few good but not "class" riders have finished on a GP podium over the years.
-
Hows that going to help? Let's assume that on Wednesday at 7.45 the Sport gets a minute long free advert during the Coronation Street break. Will it help the sport? Obviously a bit as for the next week crowds might well be up a little bit will they be up the week after? No, not once people have turned up and been charged £2 to park in a field full of holes and rubbish or on a crater filled, rubble car park full of puddles only to then get in having paid £17 for the meeting to be abandoned at heat 8 with no refund having stood in a crumbling stadium, with piss poor toilet facilities and little or no protection from the rain that he'd been falling for the last two heats. And to make matters worse if the meeting had started on time and run at a reasonable pace by the 9pm rain deluge they could have run 15 heats but they delayed the start then run at a sedate (almost slow) pace. You need to fix the produced before you start promoting it. And in theory, for that 360k investment they'll get all their money back when they sell the engines. Had they bailed out BV, Leicester or Coventry they'd have got no money back.

I question if anyone who calls Batch a class performer has watched him ride He has the odd spell of good form but he's not class. Never had been and never will be now.
-
I joked about it above but I honestly don't think Jason's got it in him to give anything less than 100% and if anything that's the negative in Jason's riding, being able to sit back from time to time. He's human, humans have bad days.
-
Adam will come good. I believe that was his first meeting this season so you have to give him a chance to get going. But BWD just isn't a second string. He'll struggle to score points anywhere. At least it should see his average drop to 3 with the first set of green sheet and he'll probably be a decent number 7.

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April
SCB replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
decebt crowd and good racing! Let's hope it continues. Seems to me you have both sussed! Harris doesn't ever know he's beat and Nicholls will often try and help his team mates, his partnership at Coventry in 2007 with Billy Janniro was something else! -
Save Speedway From "death By Eu"
SCB replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Erm, we're leaving the EU. I'm not sure the government can do any more than that to avoid European laws. -
Average fiddling! Obviously!
-
Great that it's a big crowd but I'm sure more meeting in 2017 have been delayed than started on time. Promoters need to get a grip on this. It's like they're shocked that people want to see their product.
-
I accept it's my more out there call but there's a few decent riders in the Leicester side. I think it's under rated by a few Holders average will lose the bet part of 2 points, Batch has lost it, Porsing has never done anything to impress me, Rose has been around 3 seasons now and has managed to ride about a dozen meetings outnif reserve in the PL and the EL combined so I'm not convinced by him, Huckenbeck had two good meetings last year and they have as good as a blank at number 7. Robert Lambert is a great signing but he can't win things on his own.
-
Its a figure I heard some top NL boys were on a few seasons ago.
-
Agree with that actually. But R/R is always a little risky, if another rider gets injured you're really in trouble
-
The way I see it is Klindt and King average similar amounts last season. Ok one was a heatleader all season and one was a reserve for a bit but around at Leicester right now there's probably not a huge amount in it.
-
Why would any rider want to do a second half when they can ride in the NL the next night for Cradley and get £40 a point?! That's what killed the second half, not Poland!
-
Dragged across from the other thread. taking into account no Coventry, BV have a team and Leicester have made changes I'll go with 1. Poole 2. Belle Viue 3. Rye House 4. Leicester 5. Wolverhampton 6. Kings Lynn 7. Swindon 8. Somerset

Wolves V Poole 27/3/17 + Poole V Wolves 29/3/17 Es.
SCB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
How pleasing to read such great reviews about a young Brit! As for those claiming Clegg was going to be one of the top 5 improves this year, God only know why people thought that. And Wolves look pitiful. Hehe -

No doubt Poland, Sweden and Denmark will all get 2 GPs again while we get just the one, YAY!
