Youre the one trolling here. Morton and Gordon haven't paid a penny for the stadium. So god only knows how they deserve any credit for scamming the tax payers of Manchester!
WHAT?! People don't want to get married in a speedway stadium?
You'll be telling member that all them pop groups rather than playing on the centre (with the sound down - as no loud noises like fireworks allowed) are choosing to play in indoor arenas too.
I hate saying it but told you so. The whole thing has been a farce from start to end!
As for giving them credit for building it etc. Are you kidding? I could build an £7m stadium with other people's money too!
Jason will get 10 with ease, he won't be riding against the top guys every heat now as he has done the last 2 seasons, he'll now be riding against what were second strings last year but in heat leader positions this year plus the likes of Sarjeant as second strings. He's going to piss over this league.
Schlein, Lambert, Bjerre, Klindt, Batchelor, Watt, Bates. 6 riders who have achieved averages primarily as EL heatleaders in the last couple of seasons. Plus Josh Bates as he's about all that fits. Would start with Batchelor in reserve with Bates
I was there for that one and at the time thought it was a terrible move. Seeing it again years later and able to watch it in slo-mo I'm still convinced that was one of the dirtiest moves I've ever seen.
You think? I think the BSPA have just messed up.
Personally I'd sign two big name riders on 12-13 points and after 8-12 meeting use the free 5-6 points to replace my under performing lower riders. I'd then have the best top two in the league for as start and as they can score you 25 points a meeting you don't need a lot from the other 5 - 4 points each.
I may be in a minority but I like it. Forcing out the top guys by making them harder to fit in and giving them more meeting.
Next year limit doubling up too avoid clashes too and we could slowly be getting there.
In the last 20 years is there a club that's had as many promoters/owners as Berwick? And it's not a dog at Berwick, it's just pointing out the realities of the PL not exactly being in a strong position.
And the PL is truly wonderful and has no issues! You've not seen Stoke, IoW and Newport drop down or disappear in recent years have you? Glasgow was only saved by people with more money than sense and Berwick have gone through owners/promoters at a rate that makes the EL promoter look like they have been doing it forever.
Speedway NEEDS to get over this them and us thing between the leagues. SPEEDWAY has problems, not one league.
At £10 a point in the NL you could pay the home and away team for both the home and away leg in the NL! And probably have change unless they were high bonus point scoring meetings!
If not you it would be great to see a rider try a few meeting on an old bike. I know Lewis Bridger tried it at a NYC at Newport one season and was completely off the pace but that was probably now do to the fact it was a bike he found in the back of a shed and was totally unprepared.
