Wolverhampton V Poole: El Play-off Semi-final 2nd Leg
SCB replied to Poole Quay 7's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thats not the arguement here. The arguement is that Poole have replaced a rider who was "long term injured" but he was back about 10 days later. 10 days is NOT "long term". -
No they wernt. Replacement for long term injury only. Hans wasn't long term injured so no replacement. Guest or r/r only. Lindbacks 5 points should be removed.

"Starman informed he's missed the point to allow him to go back and look for it and he still can't find it" shocker. Here you go. Rules say you can only replace a long term injured rider. A week is NOT "long term" so Poole have cheated. -

I guess for the sake of the GP series we're all Antonio Lindback and Puk fans for the next two GPs!

Stockholm Gp Saturday September 24th
SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If this doesn't get Aussies buying tickets and make Melbourne a roaring success then frankly nothing will! In Doyle and Holder two potential winners on the night, a potential World Champion and another rider in with half a chance of a podium place in the title race! -

Always rated Doyle, always said he'd be a bloody good rider but even I didn't think he could be doing this 3 years ago. So down to earth when interviewed too, keeps playing it down. That's £50 I stuck on him to win the title in March is looking good right now though. -
Nicki Pedersen Injured.

And in 2003, the year he won his first title. -
British Speedway As A Brand....
SCB replied to CookieIpswich's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There is a scrap book (well many in fact) in my parent attic of many articles from the 50s where riders are bemoaning the state of tracks and promoters are moaning crowds are dropping and they're losing money. Fast forward to 2016 and it's exactly the same except the comments are in the speedway star rather than in National new papers! -
Silencer has to be on the bike all race. If he falls off or breaks during in a race it's an exclusion - I've seen that happen (Andre Compton while racing for Newcastle at Newport) A dirt deflector just has to be on the bike when the tapes go up and secured correctly. If it falls off during the race its ok A rider can be excuded for dangerous riding at any time if the rider think his riding was dangerous/unfair. I've only ever seen it 3 times and one of them was utter madness! Technically, a cut out has to work at all times and HAS to be worn at all times on track. But I doubt it's ever checked and I've never heard of a rider being excluded for it.

I remember his last come back, his first meeting was in a Sheffield vs Edinburgh meeting (about 2008ish) and my mate asked, "why Scud?" so I told him to simply watch him ride and heat and then he'd understand. Heat 3 and out comes Scud, manages quite a steady by his standards first lap but entered bend 1 of lap 2 in a way only Scud could, by the time he'd got mid-bend you knew there was going to be a crash, it was impossible that Scud and those around him could all exit the bend upright. And yes, he took himself, I think it was Ricky Ashworth and one of the Edinburgh riders out on bend 2. "OK, I get it now" was my mates response Scud is the only rider I have seen knock a rider off on bend 1, get the race stopped and then AFTER the red light proceed to skittle the other two riders as they all slowed down on the back straight at Exeter I only ever saw him at away meeting, he was always "ill" the day he was due to ride at Newport, I can only imagine him trying to get around the likes of Newport, Wolves, Arena-Essex would have been hilarious

Well piss off and troll somewhere else.

Edinburgh V Peterborough Pl 23/9/16 @7.30pm
SCB replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'd bad any foreigner who can't average 5 for 2 seasons anyway. Like they're adding anything to our leagues! -
You must refuse to do business with many companies then as most have no OAP concession!
-
Do ride and slide sub-lease off the speedway club? If they do, it has everything to do with the club. AFAIK Sandhu leases off the housing developers, he leases out to stox and speedway. Who/what the stox/speedway lease out to on their day is then up to them I would have though.
-
Schlein and maybe a few NL level riders? Bought and sold Joe Jacobs. As for the latest "stories" if true then surely he's not a fit a proper person to be running a speedway club and should have his license removed.
-
So Harris says he wants a year away and Horton has put him up for sale
-
We can all see why you refused to take the bet now! Couldn't even get 4.5. 3 attempts at a 5 point average, 3 failures.
-
I just dont see how random pairs in a random event is a big event. Nobody will remember the winners in a few years time, in fact I doubt if many can remember this year winners!

Anyone Else Considering Walking Away From Speedway?
SCB replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly that. Used a privileged position on the Management Committee to ruin someone else totally legal team. Yet he's still a promoter. It's little wonder Sandhu walked away after that farce! The winter was bad enough for him! -

While I agree, that once at a meeting it's generally all about the 4 riders doing 4 laps I had to sit and watch a 15 heat meeting with 3 heats only having 3 riders, why? Because of Matt Ford and worst of all Kildemand was stood 10 foot from me watching the meeting. Yet in 2003 when the BLC had a rule that no EL club could use R/R, Poole turned up at Newport and had a few riders in Poland (as it Sunday) and someone (Boyce maybe?) on holiday so only had 6 riders and got special dispensation to use R/R. I watched both of them meetings furious. So while at a meeting I don't tend to be too bothered about the rules as the meeting is taking place, being cheated makes sport pointless. Otherwise get rid of rules, don't bother with league tables and titles and just call it an entertainment. -
I don't remember anyone calling the SEC Mickey Mouse, just the "Best Pairs" and lets be honest, hindsight says the "Best Pairs" is Mickey Mouse!
-
If you sign any half decent European rider and they could be in the SEC though.
