The Bjerre come in on 6.6 and 8.2 but can average 8.5 and 9.5 in this format. If they're available and interested would be mad not to sign them. People need to stop thinking in terms of EL racing and Bjerre bottling play-offs at that level. Even bottling it at this level he'd score 5 or 6 which wouldn't be terrible for an 8 point man, especially if hes done well all season to get you to the play-offs! Mind you, he is dull and terribly frustrating!

How true! Even if someone was to write the book now from other people memories of the guy I'd buy it. Such a shame nobody ever got a book out of him. But what stories to tell? The guy always had a story and you could have the Neil Street Collection that would have taken another lifetime to write! Someone, please try and write a book about Neil Streets life, there enough people worked with him over the years to have so many great stories.

So you were, Hansen is a confidence rider. Get him on a good day and he can and will beat anyone. On a bad day and I rate my chances against him. I like him but don't think there much more to come from him. A slightly classier Woryna.
-
Really? Surprised at that one, if it's who I think it is. I think allott of people would be.
-
The big thing for me with Woryna is when he was in reserve he wasn't dominating heats 2 and 12. In fact he rarely won a heat 2 or 12, he was poor. When you consider someone like Adam Ellis is only a point higher but spent all season at second string (for his 20 meeting average anyway - apart from a couple in reserve but negated by a couple as heat leader) then Woryna will be a piss poor signing. A converted average from a load of meetings in reserve is an inflated average, so no thanks from me. Don't rate the guy frankly either. Sort of likeable but sort of rubbish.
-
Peterborough/Rick Frost? Or did Swindon ever buy him back?
-
Technically, until Adam gets a team place, the likes of Jack Holder shouldn't get work permit. Work permits in any field can only be applied for if there is nobody capable of doing the job already available. If Adam is available..... Worked for Mark Loram in 2002 when Eastbourne had to bring him in for Krys Cegielski (when Poles needed work permits)

Because in a 50 point limit ALL riders average are higher than they should obtain. If you cap them at 12 then the guys on 11-12 are a lot less desirable. It does make sense. Stop looking at an average as an average of what a rider can score and more a relative value to their team.

Christ we knew on here that people were not being paid so Morton MUST have know.
-
4 riders were excluded for missing the two minutes in the Wolves vs Coventry meeting in September. Barker missed the two minutes and was put off 15 metres and was ready for the second attempt but the other 3 riders missed that two minutes. The referee allowed all 4 riders to start from the tapes in the 3rd attempt.

Could the BSPA be the tennants of the NSS, they sub lease to a promoter thus covering any costs if the new promoter fails to pay the rent
-
The only thing I will say in their defence is they have dropped the minimum average for Brits by a point too. But would prefer it if foreign riders couldn't drop below 5.
-
TBF, the rules are designed to make it difficult for the top guys and to see them sort of forced out.

Hell just froze over. I completely, 100% agree with starman. Not only was Neil a nice bloke with time for everyone and anyone he was so down to earth and always seemed to be amazed that people were so interested in what he had to say. The guy knew more about speedway than any of us could dream about knowing but always had a way of explaining it to us lesser people! Never once heard anyone say anything bad about him. Whatever it was Neil has is what you needed to be a good team manager. I can even forgive him for the time Newport went 6 down at Exeter after heat 7 and he wasn't going to make a tac sub until we leaned over the pit wall and informed him we were 6 down. It was Neil Street, we couldn't get angry, we just laughed about it.
-
Down from the 5 that was agreed last season. Good to see they're able to make a decision and stick to it!

Nicholls would be a great signing for Rye House. Had a stinker of a season last year because he couldn't get around his home track (won something like 11 heats I think was the stat I saw quoted this week) but was something like 5th in the away average for the EL. Get him on a track he can ride and he could be something of a Premiership rarity in 2017 as a rider who can up his average in a season where most will struggle to maintain theirs. Rye House should be a track he thrives on, he's a small track specialist. Actually hopeful he's back at Coventry this season but can see how Rye House is actually an ideal location for both him and the club. As for Kim Nilsson, what a weird rider. First time I saw him I sent a text to a mate saying he was a future World Champion. About 3 heats later I thought he'd do well to get out of the PL. And his career has basically seen me change my mind about how good or bad he is every heat I see him race! For me he's a bit of a risk on that sort of figure
-
Wouldn't be against that. And Joonas started last season as number 1 at Wolves and it didn't stop them winning the league!
-
So based on Schlein and Bjerre mentioning on twitter how great Jim Lynch is I'll start with them, then throw in Garrity, Bates and Jack Parkinson-Blackburn. Rumours last year of Fricke but BV stopping it but now there is nobody to stop it throw him in too. Fricke - 9.91 Garrity - 8.55 Bjerre - 8.22 Schelin - 7.17 Bates - 5.02 JPB - 2.00 That leaves 9.13. Shame Nicholls is 9.22. Paddy Hougaard and Sam Masters fit, maybe even Simon Stead. It becomes damn near impossible to built a team with just 2 double uppers as most teams reserves are going to have to be double uppers, there just are not sub 5 point men who are going to want to ride in only 1 league.

Same place as every other clubs money. Sponsors and gate money.
-
Makes me laugh people talking about how to make extra money as if things aren't viable. They paid no rent and owe the riders a fortune. It's not that the clubs unviable, its not that, it's that someone chose not to pay and has done a runner with the cash. If the clubs really was losing money despite paying no rent then frankly it doesn't matter who many wedding, pop concerts, car boot sales and training schools you have, it's going to lose money
-
They won't. The teams all start 10 points apart, by October when the Championship team have improved and are riding high they should be able to beat a team that has under performed and is low on confidence. To put it into perspective, Somerset ended on 48 this year, so only 2 points short, so it only needs the Premiership team to have dropped 2 points and suddenly....

Track maybe but stadium wise? Ive never know there be such long queue for the toilets at Brandon that people have to take a slash up against the fence as was happening at the SWC in the NSS. Or what about wanting a beer? Lukewarm at best, warm at worst at the NSS. Always cold at Brandon. Amazingly the food is better at Brandon too and it's crap at Brandon. The NSS is impressive but I'm not buy this, "the best"
-
Keep repeating it and it might eventually come true. But while Brandon exists it's better. For a start everyone can park in the car park, unlike the NSS were it's chaos. It's good, it's certainly the best of the "new" stadium (anything built in the last 30 years) but I'd say Brandon is still better. I like the NSS, I think it's brilliant but you're waxing lyrical about it is a bit OTT, especial as it was the council who built it, the council who paid for it and Morton and Gordon were the tenants who have run off with all the money!
-
Get rid of doubling up or just have one league and you need 133 riders. There are not 133 rider interested in riding in the UK. It just wouldn't work.
-
Quite content with Jim Lynch being involved. Not sure he the most tactically astute man out there but always strikes me as a decent enough guy with some not to bad ideas. Interesting to note a few riders are saying how good he is on twitter, that can only be a good thing.
