I readily admit I prefer a big one (there you go Aces51) as a general rule. A faster, flowing race just seems better than a more stop start race on a smaller track. But I'd say it's more than just big vs small, You can have a big track with tight bends and it will still be crap but you can get smaller tracks with longer sweeping bends (and then small straights) that are briliant to watch. Basically, I think a good track is one where the straights are further apart. It's also no surprise to Lakeside fans to hear I don't love their track, I think it can be utterly dull BUT I do think since Stuart Douglas and Jon Cook took over the racing has improved 10 fold and even the general feel at Lakeside is pretty good. I find Lakeside either pretty good or terrible, the other small, tight EL track Wolves has always been one of my favourites, watching PK and Lindgren around there is always a joy and I'm lucky to have seen Chris Harris ride there a disproportionate amount of time and he's great there! But after Wolves, I'd say my favourite UK tracks are Somerset and Scunthorpe (285 and 300 metres) which I say still puts them in the "small" category but people think they're big - because as I talked about earlier, the straights are a long way apart. As a result of this the rider rarely scrub off much speed so it looks faster and speed is always exciting!

We all moan clubs don't do anything to promote Sky meeting and get fans in but when Coventry do people complain. The people who ARE losing out are season ticket holders.

18 point maximum in his 2nd NL meeting on what is basically a neutral track. The lad has clearly got something going for him!

There is no such rules. The rule they have used is the rule that says the BSPA can turn down or allow any team declaration they like regardless of the rules. What rule should they know?

Thing is, if they planned meetings at the start of the year to avoid clashes I'd agree but they don't. So why worry now?

He'd miss 5 away meetings! So this crap about home clashes is just that, crap. 3 home meetings vs 5 away!

Peterborough have 5 Friday home meetings planned. 5 might seem like a lot but on 2 of them Fridays its a GP weekend so the BV Colts are racing at home! So it's been rejected because of 3 clashes. How many doubling up riders will miss less than 3 meetings? Not many I bet!

Grajczonek, Wright, King, Lambert, Summers..... And the best one is that Summers signed after the season started and has an average over 6 so how is that different?

That some serious twisting, "teams need 4-5 point riders" "there were 14 riders under 6" yes but how many under 5 as you stated? Off the top of my head the only riders to average less than 5 and rode 10 or more meeting (so basically didn't get sacked for it) in the last 2 season are Piotr Swiderski, Ty Proctor, Musliak and Robbo - possible Porsing. Even Hansen and Palm Toft got 5+

Kurtz for Plymouth is a great signing for both. He struggles at smaller, technical tracks so a season riding a smaller, technical track can only be good for him. But he's a class act so will score well for Plymouth. Actually makes the Devil stronger as he could get 9 this season

TBF he's a 7.5 man on a 5.8 average, he can demand what he likes as at some point in the season someone will pay it as he'll make some ones second strings stupidly strong! If it gets to August and he fits as a replace for Worrall for example, BV could sign him and then they'd be all out favourites to win the league

I must be mellowing as I'm missing all the criticism. Yes it took a while to get going as riders couldn't stay on and not go through the tapes but I thought it was a good meeting with quite a lot of passing. I'm not sure what people want?!

And again, it's that obsession with "gives 100%", how about this? You go into heat 15, needing to win it. You can your 8 point man who only ever gives 50% or you can put in your 4 point man who always gives 100% who are you going to pick? Nobody sane will pick the lesser rider who gives his all when you could put in the better guy who can be even better if he puts his mind to it. Coventry have a few rider who give it their all but it's not working is it? They need points, not effort.

Thats fine but don't justify it with pointless means. Me, I'd prefer the rider who scores more points, Bjerre. I accept that to some extent it is down to the promoters cheque book but you always feel with Rosco he'll find you someone or something. It might be Pawlicki form Poland, Kildemand or Morris from the PL. But what has Havvy ever found us? Or Rogers for the Storm? Opps. Meant manager! I'd neevr actually try and argue Rosco was the better rider

As a general rule I hate not playing a TR ASAP as if you do get a 4-2 thats it. But when people wait for an "8-1", argh! That was actually a bloody good and highly enjoyable meeting

You're the one generalising by age and being in a SWC team. But I'm the crazy one for proving how stupid that is? Bjerre in his worst season in about 10 years last season was still better than Sundstrom in probably his best. As for the bit about riders working with what they're given. You think so really? Rosco was given a team for 2010, it was crap, HE signed Pawlicki (or you you think Sandhu went out to Poland and had the contacts at Leszno?) and rebuilt the team making it a winning one. Rosco builds teams, Havvy works with what he's given further proving my point that Rosco is a superior rider manager! When Rosco moved to Swindon he took Morris and Kildemand with him, or do you think it was luck that the Swindon promotion at the time not only took our manager/promoter but happened to sign two riders who'd been at Coventry the year before?

Ljung and Ruud have won World Cups but Woffinden and Hancock haven't. Which two would you want?! The worst thing Horton did was get rid of Rosco! Would have made far more sense to have kept Rosco and not bothered with Scroggins, Havvy and Rogers who between them are not up to Roscos standards! Not bottling it and making passes doesn't win you titles. Scoring points does. Bjerre scores points - that's al he needs to do. He doesn't need to be exciting or wild or flamboyant or mad. We have Harris, Garrity and Bates in our team! Frankly a gate and go merchant like Bjerre would be a blessing!

If Ellis is NOT a top 3 rider in terms of being being to book a guest that means that Bjarne must be then - so why are Poole using r/r?!

Bjerre the 31 year old? Last year we signed a 35 year old who come in a did a smashing job. "past it" Bjerre is better than never been, never will be Sundstrom.
