Tremendous meeting, great crowd and atmosphere, proper speedway! -
Glasgow v Berwick BSN cup 18/4/25@19.30

Does no one talk to their friends or people standing next to them anymore. OK if it's raining I can understand why people want a quick meeting. But yesterday the weather was fine and there was plenty to talk about. Fans ask for more dirt and don't want dust but then don't want delays when it needs graded or watered. -

Have to agree with you. Berwick with 3 ex Tigers in their team gave it everything. Cookie showed some speed and will surely get back to his best with more laps under his belt. Jack Smith showed he can still score useful points at Ashfield. For the Tigers, Dan Thompson was pure class and he and Leon looked a lot more comfortable riding together. Bomber was bomber and I hope fans don't start taking him for granted - what a rider! Special mention for the efforts of the 2 reserves with Freddy's defeat of Danyon proving crucial. Best of all we have qualified for the BSN semi final and we still haven't all clicked. -
Good to know you've switched allegiance to Glasgow or did you mean to say 'If I was a Glasgow fan I'd be concerned about Ashton's start to the season with falls, bike problems and injuries affecting his scoring, but as I'm not a Glasgow fan I'm not really bothered just thought I'd post something negative as that's what being a Berwick fan does to you.'

Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025

Plus Jack Smith is likely to score well at Glasgow and probably Redcar giving Berwick a chance of nicking points from these fixtures -
Berwick v Edinburgh Sat 26 April

Obviously Edinburgh have done very well in signing Sweden's best pair to ride for them, who would have thought it? Perhaps Sweden have gone for up and coming riders rather than picking Jacob Thorssell or Oliver Berntzon or Kim Nilsson 🤔 -
It's nice to read fans from other teams reminiscing about the good old days. Just to bring everyone up-to-date with Glasgow 2025, the team won the 1st leg of the Scottish Cup at Edinburgh on Friday, our nominated pair finished third in the Championship Pairs at Workington on Saturday and Chris and Kyle finished 1st and 2nd in the CRC at Scunthorpe today. Not a bad start for the class of 2025.

Edinburgh v Glasgow April 4th

Sadly we won't see Polis but on the other hand it makes Edinburgh stronger on the night and likely to win and allows headlines like 'Despite no Oscar performance, the Monarchs come up victorious thanks to Victor' -
Are you planning a monthly attack on the Speedway Star? For the record I think they do a very good job.

Glasgow supporters held a meet the riders event last week and started the season with another brilliant donation towards the cost of the new FIM air fence. Great work by all concerned.
-
Yep, the temporary signing of a no.7 speedway rider will be front page news. Don't understand your emoji 🙃
-
Presumably you'll be using a 'Fran and Anna' tribute act (for anyone south of the border - google them) to announce Edinburgh's final rider?
-
Neither do I ! Read my post again and just to emphasise. PTW wrote Cairns will be replacing 'me' . In other words PTW must think he is the Poole no.7 and he knows Cairns will replace him.
-
So now we know who the no.7 is

I have to say that Paul Starke did disappoint me. However I seem to recall that when he tried big blasts coming out of the 2nd bend he was inadvertently blocked by his team mate, lost momentum and thereafter couldn't make much of an impact in the race. His machinery/chains also let him down. When he did gate he was fine and with Poole being a gate and go track he should do OK against the less experienced reserves in opposition teams.
-
Berwick have had decent teams over the last couple of years. They unfortunately have suffered badly with injuries.
-
What confuses me is why the 'rules' re Rising Stars are being discussed on the Oxford Cheetahs 2025 page.
-
That's easy for you to say but let's be honest who would offer you any sort of signing on fee.
-
Not surprised. Connor Bailey used to post videos of him winning races in the U24 Polish league and it looked more like a behind doors practice session- no one was there! Wonder if this contributed to Connor's decision to 'retire', hopefully just temporarily. Young lads could easily get themselves into debt and if they can't pay their bills when they don't get paid what they are owed, what can they do.

I'd prefer riders winning heats
