  1. The way things are going financially, probably better to restructure, create 2 leagues the more financially stable clubs join the new 1st division, alongside the current EL the less financially viable clubs join the new league division 2. alongside the current NL. The EL standards have dropped in the last few years, should help it be more sustainable, the standards of the NL would be lifted. Keep the development leagues to bring on new riders.
  2. Got to agree with you, don't really see any problem as to why Berwick would not be accepted in NL, what is 3 0r 4 hundred miles nowadays, we travel thousands of miles on our holidays. We also have 3 Berwick lads riding in the NL on a regular basis, and young Flinty rides all over the UK. My preference would be to remain in the PL however.
  3. Like everyone, I was deeply disappointed in our loss. The track suited gaters more than ever, concidering most of our team are not brilliant at the gate, I wonder why it was prepared in that way. The Met office forecast was spot on as usual, heavy showers about 17.00 and it was I got bl**dy drenched on the way home, with that in mind why so late in the afternoon was the track watered, if it had been done AM might have got away with it. With the exception of Kevin, Mathias & Coty, the rest were totally having a bad night, although when Alex swapped bikes looked a lot better, but to be fair by then the track was getting better. By heat 10 to 11 the Berwick team was starting to get to grips with the track, until someone decided to bring the tractor out again, hmmmm !. As I saId disappointed, however, I will still be there most weeks, unless some idiot decides to get married, unlikely as most of them are likely to pop their clogs.
  4. Try and remember, Austrailia & New Zealand are foreign countries and riders should be treated the same way as any other foreign rider without the European Community. If a rider has dual nationality, not neutrality, then they will be treated as a UK passport holder.
  5. He did say last week when he was in with alex. he would have his own bikes this week, we might get a much better idea of his ability when that happens
  6. He's a friend, and you help friends when they need help, did the same for Adrian when he went to Workington, and glad i could help.
  7. No Paul it looks like the Frenchman will still be a tiger just not a Glasgow one
  8. SHshshsh !, you will get the sponsorship police having a go up here
  9. He will do is best for you and it will not be for the want of trying, he is a serious little battler. Wish him well as i do to Newcastle for the rest of the season, damned bl**dy injuries.
  10. As said he requested to leave Scunny, and would probably have gone to Sheffield if other things behind the scenes had happened, it didn't som he came to Berwick. Cast offs was meant in general terms not really aimed at one rider in particular, as I said I dont have a problem with Thomas riding at Berwick, has has done the job. You didn't use a later statement where I said Dave Peat said he would do a good job at Berwick, and i said I put great trust in what Dave had to say, and would bow down to his more superior knowledge. Have told you before about being selective, and only choosing posts that suit your arguament.
  11. Sorry, yes loan fee. Monday morning ugh!
  12. 11 or 12 years old, doing really well as long as people lay off any pressure with someone so young. He is really enjoying his racing in all its forms, he is really getting to grips with his new 250. So proud nto sponsor this very young future prospect, who is so appreciative in any help given to him. So 'GO FLINTY GO'
  13. Well as far as my posts are concerned, what I said is roughly what has happened. Thomas started on 7.09 he is now 7,2, he cost the club a transfer fee and is not an asset, although an improvement only just. A new assessed 7 pointer woild have been an asset and may have done exactly the same. So thank you for pointing out I was correct in my assessment, I have no problems with Thomas however, he has fullfilled his role as a 7 pointer.
  14. NO He no longer does Dont quite know why it is just Edberg every one is picking on, both reserves are not performing, and generally apart from Kev and Thomas the team is not strong. R/R did most of the damage plus having to use quite weak guests as Claus and Ben are on quite low averages.
  15. It is my understanding, Alex tries not to rely on his dad in normal racing, it maybe that his dad buys his equipment as sponsorship the same as many riders have sponsorship, day to day however he does not rely on his dad financially.
  16. Tero will do a good job for you down in Newcastle, wish him good fortune at Newcastle.
  17. You have more teeth than Colin, mind he has more hair than you
  18. Talk about exageration, there may have been 1 or 2 on the forum baying for Kev last season but half a dozen is really in your imagination. Kevin was a very good second string / heat leader last season as he is this season, he is more than doing his job. What a shame we dont have 2 heat leaders to back up Kevin and Thomas.
  19. Dave Peat would make a good manager at Berwick
  20. This one has, but for 30 plus years they all had 2 wheels The car doesn't lean over I do, 40 plus years of riding bikes, it just happens. Its what happens when you have gone through an indoctrination programme, probably a member of the Scientology group aswell Thats why the less biased are seeing it at no more than it was, an unfortunate racing incident.
