Berwick V Sheffield - August 15th
To The Point replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There has been a bit of drive right in the centre of the track on the 2nd bend for as long as i can remember, he probably caught it, when you have committed no where else to go than towards the fence, so many over the last 15 years have fell foul of it. I didn't see any deep ruts in the track, and certainly none in heat 2. If I have a comment on the track it seemed very loose in parts and without experience of that older type of track set up, younger inexperienced riders will struggle, as they did. -

So in short, the rule must exist. Think the question was about the move by Bates on Carr saturday past. -

I am sure many riders have taken out other riders many times, that does not mean someones single recolection was always regular. It is true Michal took Ricky out Owlerton as did Ricky take Michal at Berwick, Moggo took Michal out at Stoke, Michal took Moggo out at Shielfield, dont remember them being dangerous moves, better described as hard riding. The same meeting that Ricky took Michal out at Berwick, Rymel came out 2 heats later and put Ricky safely into the fence on 1st bend, Ricky rode at both of their testemonials, says it all i think thats the nature of speedway racing, rivals on teack mates off track. -

Michal was a hard rider, I never thought he was a dangerous rider, young Mr Bates doesnt seem to have control of his machine at times -

Seem to remember a few seasons ago at Berwick, a rider excluded for a dangerous manouver, wasn't someone excluded and put out of the meeting at Newcastle -

The answer for Claus is to have the operation now giving him a longer period to recover, that advice should come from the club, as he is of little use if not totally fit, and could agrevate the injury even more. -

Absolutely brilliant signing, well done to Rob And Dave, I have rabbited on about this rider now for nearly 2 seasons, latterly he has been out scoring Kracma in Czech. Look after him and nurture him, he waill pay dividends. Would have been happier if Berwick had signed, but thats how the cookie crumbles, -
Well thats how it supposed to be,

That is my understanding of it, had this discussion with PW before he sold it Berwick Town Council, is a Parish Council who have no jurisdiction on planning, all planning is done under the County Council, based In Morpeth at County Hall. Berwick , Tweedmouth & Spittal have 3 councillors who represent us at a County level, Gavin Jones, Isabel Hunter and Jim Smith, non of which are under investigation. What you are talking about are certain individuals who are hell bent on causing disruption at any cost to Berwick as long as they get their very narrow views across with a very political bias. Due to these individuals we have lost some very able Councillors and a very good Town Clerk has been driven out. The claim is these people were the problem, strange thing the same problems remain, so perhaps the wrong people have gone.

Planning law Planning law states that if a rule has been made in these circumstances, if it is not used within a 5 year period, the planning application will lapse and will have to be re applied for. In those circumstances it is unlikely to be passed again in a built up area. The Council can only work with the rules set down, and an individuaL Councillor must do the bidding of his or her electorate.

You are way out my friend, you have to understand the demographics of where you supply, and supply what they want and what they can afford. I have spent over 20 years trying to convince local people to by the latest designs and brands, I changed to only supply what they want to buy, it's a steadier ship nowadays. I still have a go at new inovation but with a lot of thought with it.
-
Heres another rub, if i didn't sell what my customers want to buy, instead supplied what I want them to buy or try and sell them what they don't want, my business is in deep DOODOO.
-
Generally agree with you, something to remember though, if your customer does not like what you provide, you end up with no customers. My own small business relies on providing what the customer wants at a fair price and with a very high standard of service, and if I were to stray from that path, I would soon be out of business. Time the speedway world stood up and listened to the paying public

Always said a statuary wage structure should be in place, something like £60 for a No1 going down in £5 increments, £55 for a No3 £50 for a No 5 and so on. When a rider changes position drops from No 1 to No 3 the wages should be adjusted accordingly

My pension won't stretch that far, also my accountant as told me if I get involved, he will personally kick me around Berwick.
