  1. got wise to Kemp? He’s dropping the championship as he’s signed for Daugavpils. Could only really sign for Oxford or Poole to go with those commitments
  2. I’d love to see your workings for this. There will be 63 Championship riders this season, plus from last season, Kemp, Borke, Gusts, Heeps, Knudsen, Nagel, Boughen, Starke, Klindt, Polis, Bowtell, S Worrall, Z Kennedy, D Kennedy, Voulas, Hook on the sidelines. I’ll remove the unlikeliest ones and you’ve still got around 74 Championship level riders. We’d require 98 for 14 x 7 man teams. 24 riders to find, a few Premiership will drop down to the one big league, riders like Iversen who aren’t good enough in Poland anymore. Say that leaves 20 spots, 10 to be foreigners coming in on assessed averages, and 10 NL riders moving up seems fair, but you could easily get 20 Aussies/Americans/Danes to come who aren’t involved in the top leagues, this is presuming we stick with 7 man teams, we may go 6 and then suddenly you’ve only got 10 spots to fill (14x6=84 - 74 riders =10). So no, why on earth would Jack Smith on a sub 3 be a second string, stop over dramatising, Championship riders aren’t going to leave the Britain.
  3. Poole, Plymouth and Edinburgh obvious. Scunny - Ablitt, Lambert, MPT, Harrison Berwick - Assessed 4 pointer. Worky - Who knows… Cookie, a 5 assessed and a 2 pointer?
  4. There’s so many places where this team could have been far better, and the Smith signing is certainly one of them.
  5. So as predicted, Berwick pick 28 year old Jack Smith rather than the young man who showed him the way round Shielfield Max Perry
  6. Scunny I’d have had Lambert and Perry as final two and I’m sure majority of others would too.
  7. There’s not much out there to fill the gap if it’s Paco and Kye, and I can’t see either of them not being in the team.
  8. Do you really think Max Perry would be asking for more money than Jack Smith?
  9. What an absolute shambles. Hang your heads in shame Berwick promotion.
  10. Why do people keep suggesting Bastian? He let us down last season and then put a statement out moaning about how the club treated him and that he was fit and that Berwick were lying.
  11. I’m happy it’s not Hume, that’s all I’ll say. Leaves it being a newcomer on a 4, and Smith as the reserves I’d think, unfortunately.
  12. What momentum does he need? Had a full season at Berwick bar the opening 2 / 3 meetings and dropped a point off his average. He’s not a kid anymore.
  13. To quote you - “To maintain the standard at the 2026 level you would need to find 25-30 riders at or close to the standard of Harris,Lawson,King,Nicholls,Wright etc “ You choosing to use 5 of the top 10 averaged riders in the Championship is just trying to sensationalise your argument.
  14. Why do we need 25-30 Championship number 1’s to maintain the standard of the Championship, for 5 more teams? It would be the likes of Ben Cook, Lidsey, Chris Holder, NKI, Klindt, any of them wanting to stay in Britain, which plenty of them will with a decent fixture list, coupled with a few newcomers to the league on assessed 6/5/4 from around the world, and the next 5-10 NL riders to step up. It would certainly stretch the Championship out and racing wouldn’t be near as good due to the differing standard of riders, maybe you resort to 6 man teams instead, but you don’t need 25 number ones, you’d get them from the Premiership I think. BV - Ben Cook/Blodorn/Lidsey Sheff - Chris Holder Lynn- Klindt/NKI Ippo - Brennan/Rew Leicester - Douglas/Becker Northampton/Pboro - Tungate/One of the above
