Kings Lynn Stars Vs Rye House 07/06/17
GWC replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The rewards for getting to the playoffs must now be huge otherwise teams are blowing good will away quicker than last nights breeze in Kings Lynn!! -
Looks like there will be some pretty one sided meetings at home with the new declared line up.

As mentioned previously there are better riders in the Championship than Poole currently have but you now have a natural number one in Kurtz. -

Agreed cityrebel gaps between meetings are now the norm to allow for the doubling up and gp plus overseas league commitment availability. It's 21st century speedway and the alternatives are put up, totally change league format or no speedway as I see it. -

Ha! Yes have you read Malcolm Simmons book where some 'interesting' comments made regarding Dave Jessup's equipment issues during meetings! -
Mr Drury won't be very happy!
-
Unless the PL and CL is amalgamated and certain riders excluded from it (GP) the fixture farce will not improve. We need continuity of meetings to retain club support and show stadia owners that there is a future in league racing otherwise it will wither and die very quickly.

Leicester V Rye House 29.05.17
GWC replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Team mates at Redcar now should be interesting! -
Oh dear Peterborough!
-
You would be better off looking at someone like Richie Worrell who at least knows the tracks in the UK and won't 'disappear' during meetings like these so called wonderful Poles do!
-
Probably due to Rye teams being inexperienced as had a much more home grown team than most.
-
No he is riding Premier and Championship now so much greater challenge for him as opposed to last season.
-
Following numerous alterations it's now regarded as one of the easier tracks to ride. The straights are quite narrow compared to say Belle Vue but the bends are far easier now to negotiate. A couple of 14 year old juniors have recorded 62 seconds for 4 laps.

The only league that seems to have got it right is the National league!
-
The resurgence in Freddie's form has been remarkable is this down to his engines?
-
Counted 7 unsatisfactory starts - who was the ref?
-
So how does this new team line up average wise?
-
I'm sure teams are required to keep the 2 pointer at no. 7 for a full season? Need to get your bids in now for Brennan or Jenkins for next season!

Perhaps it comes down by barge - season would be over by the time it arrives! -
You are correct Steve I'm firmly of the opinion that UK Speedway has seen many ex grass trackers - Peter Collins for one but the two do not fit very well. Ole Olsen said that Speedway is totally different requirement-in simple terms you face forward in Speedway but tend to ride side-on at Grasstrack. Chris Harris is a good example. James is also a side on rider.

Needs to keep still at the gate and not try to cheat the system! -

Speedway has some odd rules if Morris replaces a number one then he should be in that position. Andersen moving to no. one means it's r/r for KK doesn't it?? -
They don't but if Robbo is missing against Poole then he will be needed more so and can't afford injury.

Poole V Swindon Ela 1/5/17 6pm
GWC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
KK seems a loner and not a team player and consistency eludes him in the UK, Middleditch needs to massage his ego. Championships are won with team spirit not chopping and changing riders to fit the numbers!
