It doesn’t quite add up, housing applications take months to go through so they may as well had let the fixtures continue to have some income. I don’t understand how it’s nothing to do with the Dugards this time as they are the stadium owners, unless it’s an outside factor such as the stadium being repossessed?
-
I did read that it can’t be sold for housing as the site is too contaminated, not sure how true that is
-
Best news would be if Spedeworth buy the stadium as they seem friendly towards speedway at other venues, Mildenhall, Northampton etc
-
I totally agree!! Nothing against Poole but as you say they’ve had plenty long enough now to have signed a replacement rider, so I have zero sympathy that they are finding it more difficult to find a guest. They have been using Harrison and Kennett as reserve guests who are heat leaders at their respective clubs so I suspect they weren’t in a particular rush if the only available riders were weaker on paper than their recent guests.

I think the trustees voted to invest the money into Plymouth to keep speedway in Devon -
Like I said, have 2 ques. Then the prepaid don’t hold up those waiting to pay on the day.
-
And how does that speed things up exactly? Surely you just have 2 separate ques on the night, one for pre paid tickets and one for payment on the gate?

Lions v Witches, Monday 6th July

Falling ill on the day is too open to abuse though isn’t it, you could use it to bring track specialists guests in. If someone is genuinely ill on the day of the meeting and gets a doctor’s note then it’s indisputable as you have an independent sign off so in that case you get a guest? If you pull out a couple of hours before the meeting en route without a doctor’s note then it could be abused. Not saying that’s what’s happened here as I don’t know the facts or what’s wrong with Rich but that’s just my interpretation of how the rules work. -

If they were told there was no facility then they wouldn’t have been allowed to use R/R for Lawson, can only be replaced with a 2 point rider. I assume it’s because it was short notice so he didn’t have a doctors note declaring him unfit to ride? -

Taken from the BSPL updates site; Some late team news and a major blow for the Witches as Richard Lawson has been taken ill en route and has returned home. With no facility permissible, locally-based Freddy Hodder has agreed to race, and has made it to the stadium at very short notice. -
Scorpions v Gladiators 3rd July
Marky_Mark replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m a neutral but love seeing the Scorpions proving everyone wrong, I’ve been enjoying their streams and it’s great to see the young British riders progressing. Good rides and scores again tonight for Luke Harrison, Nathan Ablitt and Ryan Ingram who some people said was the weakest 2 pointer in the league before the lad had even turned a wheel, proving again tonight how wrong people were. -

Kevin is a good prospect for the future but Jeppesen is a better rider at the moment. I think he was averaging over 6.00 for Northampton Jeppesen average in championship is 8.50 and Kevin is 5.30.
-
Honestly think Tom would benefit from riding in the Championship for the rest of the season to give himself extra rides and boost his confidence, he’s lost his Polish ride so surely has space in his calendar now.
-
Where did you find out his average?
-
Why are people trying to insinuate that Poole have pulled a fast one by declaring Bowes out for the season, you do know they could have replaced him in the team regardless?
-
Jason Garrity? Average fits and Havvy was supposedly trying to help him make a comeback and get a team place?
-
They have stated that things changed since speedway star went to print

Jason Garrity?

Not really, he’s on a very false 2.00 average as it’s his first season in British speedway. Once he gets his first true average, he’ll be a heat leader on a near 10 point average. It’s no different to Will Cairns and Cooper Rushen starting on a 2.00 last season. I like Tom, he’s given it his all, but Ben is quicker and will score more points
