  1. I said it was speedways own fault,no comment on any particular promotion, could extend it to say its british speedways own fault we've lost so many stadiums.I take a monthly steam magazine interesting article recently saying many british steam and vintage rallies were struggling financially due to higher costs particularly rents they compared it to USA and Australia where 30or 40 yrs ago they had a policy of using profits to purchase and develop there own showgrounds so now they are healthy and have no rent or landlords.british speedway (and some fans haha)always make excuses and blame someone or something else. Some Poole fans on here instinctively jump to defend the club in the face of the slightest criticism when this time they should surely agree it would be great to own or have a long lease on our own stadium and it's a shame someone didn't have the foresight to do this year's ago
  2. That's the speedways own fault, the stadium was up for grabs a few years back they chose to go for the easier cheaper option and let Clarke Osborne take the stadium , do the required work then rent from him, no good whinging now, fact.
  3. very good post, but does mean cynical old poole supporter ie me will say you should have picked better 2 pointers!! purely hypothetically, woudnt have happened mainly because of racenight ,if glasgow had managed to sign cairns you would now be championship favourites,so really the team was only one signing away from being champions(i am assuming the young dane will do ok)
  4. best crowd of the season, good to see, lets not get carried away with the attendance figure mentioned on the forum that was a wild guess and wrong
  5. I guarantee a lot of last nights crowd won't be back in a fortnight they will have gone home, but there will be a fresh set of holidaymakers in,lot of people commenting last night how busy the area is at present with visitors, great for poole speedway but they're definitely not avid speedway fans and certainly not poole fans
  6. Glasgow great racetrack brilliant owners, but it's no good trying to put a sticking plaster over your teams problem,it's all down to terrible team building truly terrible, assume matt ford to be one of the best if not the best at putting a winning team together in either league he would have never ever had a team with two reserves so obviously poor as this Glasgow team,he would work on the elementary rule of one strong reserve.im hoping Glasgow can still somehow make a big challenge for honours, better for the league
  7. Can't imagine insurance costs would be much cheaper, and can't imagine the poole landlord for example would take much reduction in rent, and like skids says would be real concerns about crowd levels,so can't see those type of meetings being an answer at all
  8. Let's not everybody go overboard on Cairns performance on Wednesday,in the grand scheme of things it's not that important for the lad
  9. In some ways your proving my point "Oh no speedway can't do that"
  10. All moto2 engines made, sealed and serviced by triumph,moto3 Honda or ktm sealed engines, but of course wouldn't work in speedway!! why can't a sport run by amateurs learn from the professionals
  11. Agreed Arthur healthy crowd for a speedway meeting, but crowds are definetly lower this year
  12. So blue how long do you foresee there being speedway in poole ??
  13. Comfortable win ,good team performance, shame for ritchings, hope he's fine.cant understand the amount of criticism poole riders are getting this yr from supposed fans!! One slight concern this yr is crowds are definitely down, peak holiday period to come tho
  14. That's a shame,why the laughter clive?
  15. Understand all that, but for me it's still a shame circumstances (some non speedway related ) force poole into the lower league,
  16. However you dress it up its still div2,and we don't race any of the top teams
  17. We do seem to be dominating lower league speedway, shame we never race against any of the top teams in the country
  18. Big step for the young man ,wish him well, british speedway needs all the young riders it can get,to avert real problems in a few years(hope the aussies can keep baling us out lol)
  19. dont think theres any less commitment or effort but would be stupid not to keep best equipment for premiership and overseas, remember when chris holder won world championship he had one engine that year that was so quick he never used it in league meetings anywhere just the gps
  20. Was hoping a season at belle view would bring him on considerably, riding with and against the top riders regularly compared to when he's at Poole in lower division must be good for him,and poole will benefit from his belle Vue experience
  21. Re ht 13,went to the glass grandstand tonight(to avoid the dust)had a perfect view of the second bend exit and lawson ran kerr to within an inch of the fence, kerr had to shut off,I assume he thought it was masters coming round the outside
  22. would be real backward step for ben cook returning to poole
