  1. I thought this was the case too but considering the common promotion, he might as well be ours.
  2. Think that leaves us a bit too weak at reserve to be honest. Will Howarth be expected to move up into the top 5 of the team next season then? I somehow doubt Newman at Poole will be! Harris at 4 sounds good though.
  3. You think riders are going to decide upon racing in the UK based on forever fluctuating currency? I don't think that will even be a factor in their decision making. The pound has fell in value yes but has not collapsed, if it was to do so then it may be a consideration point. It will probably be back up in a few weeks time and then go down.......
  4. So lobby the Govt to have a fair immigration policy for speedway riders. PL footballers get here easy enough. I only watch EL speedway too but there's no reason why we can't develop our own riders and supplement the elite league with top foreign riders - regardless of whether we are in the EU or not. Poole had Bjarne Pedersen at reserve this season, if leaving the EU helps to stop ridiculous things like this then great. That reserve spot could've been used by a young and promising British rider, not a declining Danish rider looking for extra income. There should be questions asked when a foreign rider comes over here, such as where and how often they are going to ride etc.
  5. Lol - immigration is obviously a legitimate issue for many people, that doesn't automatically make them an idiot. I voted leave but my motive was more to do with our country having the ability to trade freely with the whole of the world, not just one continent which is increasingly inward looking and protectionist. If you ask me, the narrow minded ones are those who support everything about the EU when there's a whole world out there.....
  6. BV isn't the only team with such major transport links though, Birmingham Airport is not far from Wolverhampton. The whole airport distance/convenience debate doesn't seem to have made much difference in top riders considering if they want to ride in the UK anyway.
  7. I can't lie, that's what I get for not reading previous posts !!
  8. Your expectations of how you expect fans to behave sounds rather boring and condescending to be honest. Its the Playoff final - is it not normal to be excited?
  9. Oh I agree, no chance of it happening but he would be outstanding round there yes. It's his sort of track really.
  10. What about a Wednesday then? A fixed night is clearly needed either way.
  11. Can't see Lindgren riding for another British team unless Wolves say they don't want him - which is extremely unlikely to say the least.
  12. For starters: - A designated race night across the league, probably a Wednesday or Monday. Not sure what day(s) the Danish League rides? - More EL teams. - More meetings. - Bringing back of a cup competition. - Increase average limit for teams and their top 5 (I assume this is a given anyway)
  13. Monday or Wednesday designated race night, more teams and more meetings. That will help bring more riders back and address fans concerns that the fixture list seems to be forever shrinking. Bring back one of the cups as well. Well, BV certainly looked like learners on Monday night then, judging by that logic. Isn't some variety a good thing? Or do you want all tracks to be big, fast and continental?
  14. Top riders would be more likely to ride over here, regardless of if there were more meetings, if it was a single designated night a week..... Wolverhampton tends to be called rubbish if your team's riders find it a bit too tricky.
  15. In terms of teams? Belle Vue Coventry Ipswich Kings Lynn Lakeside Poole Rye House Swindon Wolves Hard to make predictions until squads are sorted but I would expect the usual suspects of BV and Poole to be up there. We need more teams and therefore, more meetings. Not less.
  16. The pinnacle of hypocrisy is praising Cook for his ''passion'' whilst having a go at Woffinden who wasn't squaring up to other riders and trying to headbutt them with a helmet on!
  17. Rye House and Ipswich joining with Leicester to go down would increase it by 1. What's for sure though is that we need more teams and more meetings.
  18. Lindgren has rode for us for 14 years consecutively now I think. Can't see that suddenly stopping soon. Yes you might be right to be fair, only really mentioned him because he's good around the Green. Seemed to seriously lack speed over the 2 legs.
  19. All of the comments about Tai are amusing when Cook had a massive tantrum because Lindgren passed him. Will never be a top rider if he has such an issue with that.
  20. Tai hasn't actually ripped up roads for us in terms of his scores but yes, he's brought a lot more than that. As said, he should ride for us over here for his own good if anything but I doubt he will.
  21. Lol, I was trying to make a serious point as he's seemed not as sharp this season in some GPs but OK.
