  1. The management were damned if they do damned if they don’t! There isn’t an abundance of riders available, it’s clear with the guests available for danyon and mountain at reserve we weren’t going to get the points we needed! while I’m not bowled over with the changes made the simple fact is riss should do as well as Jeppesen and in truth should score more, Garcia will score more than mountain home and away and when kemp gets in he should get a few points too. for me the big pressure now is on heeps to do his job and get a minimum of 7 away from home and 9/10 at home every week - if he carries on getting 3 away from Home etc. Then it doesn’t really matter who’s staying or coming in you can forget it!
  2. But also if dare I say we lost a rider to injury during the meeting it leaves us vulnerable.....again! We’ve just lost a meeting to a team we should’ve comfortably beat at home! Let’s face it Workington still only just got it done in the last race! We had no option to bring a guest in for cam but we do for Danny so why not do so - cannot have anymore slip ups if we have any chance of getting in the playoffs
  3. Don’t understand why we’re going with r/r for Danny on Thursday!? Surely could’ve found a more than adequate guest with just Swindon/Somerset riding and an individual at Sheffield.....????? https://ipswichwitches.co/preview-ipswich-v-redcar-championship/
  4. Curious decision to drop Jeppesen - disappointed we didn’t get to see more of him! i can understand wanting to get Garcia in at reserve we need more points from the reserve positions - I really like Connor he’s a great kid, hard working and professional but I think he’d benefit from a different home track, Foxhall just isn’t one of his best - 7 rides 4 points on Thursday that’s just not going to get the team results! Really hope both Connor and Jeppesen get fixed up elsewhere ASAP great we’ll get to see drew this season tho I guess this seems to indicate we’re relying on guests for Danny then
  5. There was rumour in the previous off season that if ipswich has of gone up to the top league Doyle was gonna be our no.1 and guy nicholls (tru7 group) would’ve helped fund it to make it happen!
  6. Didn’t even think about perks - I’d give him a go over riss every time gotta back the young brits
  7. On witches website today Hawkins quoted as saying Jonas injury isn’t too bad at all - whereas danyon has had surgery on his shoulder so was basing this on Jonas being good quickly - similarly if wasn’t to be his average is assessed and lends to another new swede/Dane if one could be found https://ipswichwitches.co/hawkins-we-need-riders-asap/
  8. Masters 10.4 schlein 9.58 covatti 6.64 jeppeson 5.2 riss 4.86 mountain 3.62 a national league rider on a 2 comes to 42.3 - my pick in the absence of being able to select drew kemp would be tom Brennan for 2 point man can’t see him scoring much less than danyon once into the swing of it covatti going well Home and away now as third heat leader and would have a top 1&5 capable of scorin heavily Home and away Mark riss goes well at Foxhall and can slot in at no.2 be a bit tough on heeps but he’s been no where near the level he reached last year - we need a competitive one to seven home and away and he just hasn’t been reliable enough - can’t see how else we can pull in a sufficient replacement for Danny without redeclaring
  9. If camptons average is still around the 5/6 point mark Louis and Hawkins need to be moving heaven and earth to get him in a witches jacket next year - you will not get a rider on that average that goes better around Foxhall, he’d probably end up averaging around 8-9 at home riding at 3 or 4
  10. Sadly there’s only so many seasons you can say the boy has talent he’s just rather raw - doesn’t seem to learning and he causes a lot of his crashes which is danger to both him and the others around him, often resulting to significant injuries to him and others perhaps a full season at national league would benefit - let’s face it he hasn’t managed to complete a full season without serious injury in the sport to date which is real shame, great kid and I hope he and Jonas are not too badly hurt from tonight’s crash but there’s every possibility again his and maybe Jonas’s seasons are over a real shame we can’t slot drew kemp in his place but I really can’t see him being overlooked for next season when he will eligible and no way Connor or danyon anywhere ready to step up into the team
  11. Don’t want to dampen the praise being out on Kyle too much he’s good lad with potentially a big future ahead of him but his points tonight were all inherited via either falls or retirements - that being a good lesson in you’ve got to be in it to win it something young danyon could learn from! generally Workington were poor in my opinion other than campton and Jensen and with all that went on should’ve won more comfortably but 3 away points and well done when will the luck ever favour us witches!? Season after season blighted by injury going all the way back to career ending injuries of Chris Louis and mark loram!!
  12. My understanding was if declared at the start of the season by the same team he was riding for in the season a rider qualifies for the Grand Prix then they can continue to ride in the championship - if it’s simply because he has a 2017 average then surely we would be able to sign sam masters who also has a 2017 average but been told those averages and now invalid as they have a current uk average and therefore it would have to be a converted average - so I’m assuming Cook will be on a converted average at Glasgow?
  13. Richie worrall replacement for king anyone!? Been dropped and replaced with Craig cook at Glasgow - subject to approval having said that and I didn’t think gp riders were allowed in championship....?
  14. Richie Hawkins says in his match report Cameron nursing a concussion but it’s not too bad and won’t be out for longer than the compulsory 7days which is good news! Lucky from such a big off! Hopefully lasse be good soon too!
  15. The witches getting anything from this meeting hinges on heeps to be honest - he was superb around owlerton when I watched a meeting there last year so let’s hope he can fill in with 7/8 points to support big guns and hopefully we’ll come away with something
  16. Another point I’d like to make in light of recent issues raised regarding riders being owed significant sums of money, and whether we could afford jack holder - while John and chris Louis have been in charge they may not have been the biggest payers but I’ve never heard of riders not being paid - correct me if I’m wrong on this down the years but I’ve not heard of it
  17. Even better! Has to be a better option than using guests week after week
  18. Surely if holder was willing to come then between Louis and guy nicholls they’d pay him
  19. I said that regarding masters but people said his current average would be converted rather than last years champ average so neither masters or lambert would fit
  20. There’s only 1 fixture clash in the whole of July and August so not a massive issue......
  21. Good news on danyon hopefully be back for next week! is the conversion rate from prem to championship 1.3?? If it is, is David bellego eligible for championship? 6.9 x 1.3 = 8.97 temp replacement for Danny? Typically looked fairly quick around Foxhall in the past and has improved vastly last couple of seasons
  22. Cook wouldn’t be allowed - gp riders aren’t allowed to ride in championship unless retained by team they rode for the season they qualified! masters final average at the end of last season was 8.57 so why can’t he come in for king??
  23. Josh G another strong option - personally I feel masters is more formidable around Foxhall so would be my preference but obviously both well proven at championship level
  24. Very true but we’ve got loads of meetings in the next month or two - a suitable replacement would be more stable and favourable. A question that I have regarding my suggestion of masters - is there a limit to how many riders can double up with same teams?? I think there used to be because of fixture clashes but with fixed nights this now shouldn’t be a problem article just been tweeted from mike bacon - Louis stating they’re actively looking for permanent and semi permanent replacements for both Danny and Michael, with Michael confirmed as being on the sidelines for at least the next 6 weeks
