  1. From the second bend it looked very close but obviously a fair way away and an awkward angle - couldn’t say with confidence either way but was surprised they gave it to Connor rightly or wrongly the awarding of that point I’d like to just say Connor was fantastic value all night his confidence looks up and hopefully over the next few meetings he starts to come out on top in more and more of these battles turning great effort into more points - but even if he didn’t I would happily pay to watch him put in that level of effort every meeting!
  2. Curious statement from Edinburgh management - Danny’s arm injury tonight considered to be a new injury which then allowed us to use injury r/r when he was clearly struggling from the start - have to kind of agree with this and say we were fortunate to be given this facility instead of just the reserves replacing - a little while until our next meeting but have to say Danny really needs to get fit and not ride until he is, it’s a big risk him pulling out mid mid meeting and not get injury r/r!!
  3. With the way campton rode for ipswich in several guest appearances at the back end of last year I harboured some hope that he may perhaps be a full time witch this season - proved once again tonight that maybe should’ve been the case!! Great to see nico back flying again tonight! Roll on next week with a bit of momentum....oh no wait joke fixture list year 3 weeks to wait....again!
  4. Schlein a class above reserves both much improved - for sure benefited from both banging in big scores in NL last few weeks covatti looking much better for a bit time on the bike since the injury heeps average - a big disappointment so far this year with high hopes given how well he progressed last year sarg did ok guesting danny blew up bike while leading his first - did ok but not looking 100%fit and confident
  5. Surely josh Pickering or Ben Morley would’ve been better guest choices than sarg
  6. Have to be riding home and away next year the lack of meetings is really disappointing - we managed to get loads of people through the gate for the big meetings at the end of last season but there’s zero momentum with this season to get them coming back with meetings so few and far between doesn’t help riders or the sport - the regionalised trophies and cup meetings are a joke
  7. Difficult one to call this! Hopeful our top 5 can do a good job as I expect us to outperformed at reserve by greaves and in form Etheridge - lewi a good choice of guest a paid max at Foxhall already this season and going great guns the last few weeks for Glasgow! kerr Schlein and I think haertel will all contribute what’s expected from each of them to add up to a winning score really depends on which heeps and covatti turn up!!
  8. Haha fair one! brennan head and shoulders above all of them though from I saw in terms of bike control!
  9. louis got to be looking at trying to get brennan at foxhall on last nights performance hasn't he!? next season at the latest!
  10. I’ll go for 45 each and another valuable 2 points on the road for us! Hoping Michael takes well to a big fast circuit more like what he’s accustomed to back home!
  11. The harshest thing about the new rule is the other rider who then has to go off 15m is at a disadvantage which harms his opportunity for income which is bit unfair - agree it’s the most frustrating thing when riders lay on the track and I can see why they’ve tried to address this but it’s penalising the wrong rider financially
  12. Very much agree, powerful top 5 and two local prodigious talents at reserve next year for sure
  13. Difficult to take your opinions seriously on how riders are performing when you openly admit you don’t attend meetings
  14. You’d think they could find a guest surely that stronger than using the reserves and Michael!? To be honest I’d be tempted to use ash Morris!
  15. Fair comments on rose if he was hurt - stand by though riders will know in their hearts if they can race or not - teams don’t stand a chance going away from if their no.5 can’t race and it doesn’t attract fans that are new to the sport when riders are giving up! hope Lewis is back race fit as soon as possible
  16. Morris could conceivably go from reserve to no.1......average has quite probably only going to have to jump to 6 something! heeps seems to have found some better speed with the new equipment Michael fantastic in first couple and learning fast every week danyon looking a lot steadier and Connor good value in his last ride unlucky not hold them both off - coping with an inside and outside attack simultaneously proved just too much! forgive me as I’m unsure, is rose coming back from/carrying an injury? To be honest if I was the Newcastle management I’d fine him for his efforts tonight - he’s either clearly not for enough to ride and shouldn’t have declared he is or he just couldn’t be bothered, either way he’s let Newcastle down don’t stand a chance when your no.5 doesn’t do more than 2 laps a race at the back!
  17. Lots of people blaming Danny for nico’s crash but in all honesty can you say nico would’ve got round Danny and nick given ten goes..... Danny was always going to be taken to the fence with Morris knowing what was as stake and did well to stay on himself - I agree Danny doesn’t really ever look for a partner and that’s frustrating but these guys should be talking a game plan before races and even if not nico surely could’ve forseen where nick and Danny would likely be headed!? For me no one really at fault more a racing incident with 3 riders desperately racing to come out of the bend at the front but the sensible option from outside gate for nico was the cutback! hope nico heals up quick and can soon get himself back to last seasons form!
  18. Our reserves will for sure have to up their game for this one against decent opposing 6&7 pair
  19. Couldn’t tell you - just took it as is and copied straight over from ippo website mate! Maybe the Newcastle management see a better opportunity of heat advantages targeting heeps/Kerr at 3/4 than Schlein at 5 by putting palm Toft there?
  20. Better start this off then! Nico confirmed broken ribs so out for a few weeks - a revert to last years riding order of heeps at 3 and Rory 5 with Lewis Kerr in for nico at 4! must win for the witches need to start getting some confidence in the camp! palm Toft an astute choice of guest for Newcastle given how well he went for Peterborough the other week - but I’m confident we can get the first win of year nevertheless! although cam only scored 4 points Monday he passed and held off kildemand for a third place and finished with a win over grazcjonek so let’s hope he can get going at Ipswich now too! Just needs to make some starts! riding orders taken from witches website Ipswich: 1. Danny King 8.87 © 2. Michael Härtel 5.20 3. Cameron Heeps 6.93 4. Lewis Kerr (g) 7.49 5. Rory Schlein 8.58 6. Connor Mountain 3.33 7. Danyon Hume 2.00. Team Manager: Ritchie Hawkins Newcastle: 1. Ludvig Lindgren 7.21 © 2. R/R for Tero Aarnio 5.02 3. Michael Palm Toft (g) 7.02 4. Matthew Wethers 5.65 5. Lewis Rose 6.49 6. Carl Wilkinson 4.97 7. Ashley Morris 4.88. Team Manager: George English
  21. Second bend was dreadful today - you could see them bouncing over a couple of bumps so then as they land grab a handful of grip and get launched towards the fence fairplay to lakeside rode hard and deserved the result felt sorry for nico found himself in the wrong place a couple of times needs to maybe make better decisions! heeps needs to make some starts desperately german looking more and more confident Reserves need to work hard - need more from them both at home impressed with Ellis last Friday and tonight - all on the new godden engine will be interesting how long before we start to see more and more of them! If people keep getting beat they’ll soon be wanting one!!
  22. Here’s hoping there’s more grip on the outside for this one!
  23. There’s not an automatic right to all four back no - but standing on the second bend it was clear to see all four made a good start together it got nipped up and Bowtell from gate two made clear contact with haertel and haertel with Morley on the outside - both continued on trying to save it and subsequently fell of on their own but it was a clear case of first bend bunching and the ref denied the paying public of a speedway race with all four riders back in! Wouldn’t have made much difference to be result but just seemed a very harsh decision on the two young lads racing hard for the first corner!
