  1. Hope Ryan is ok...... Don't envy him a trip to hospital, hope he gets seen quickly Well done Sommerset and good luck to Jake in the U21's
  2. Still stuck at home and gutted not to be at OTA tonight (or Sheffield tomorrow) Safe meeting for all. Tough meeting ahead
  3. I have a question too plz...... I was under the impression that every race in a GP had to be decided over 4 laps and could not be awarded. I was happy for poor Bomber that the race was awarded BUT ........ What is the rule?
  4. Sorry but I may be the only person happy with a rain-off last night as I wasn't well enough to go and was gutted at missing Cookie! Sad news for Panthers89 but I'm glad Graeme sorted your refund quickly and I hope you enjoy Berwick tonight. Cookie is usually majestic round Shielfield
  5. Thanks boys, wish I'd been there to cheer you on but at least it kept my mind off my sore leg for an hour and a half....
  6. Ryan was hit by the Rye House rider which caused him to lift in the first instance so ref called it right - 1st bend all 4 back
  7. Damn rain, spoiled a great meeting. Nip and tuck all the way with neither team giving up. Nice to see and hear the Rye House fans enjoying themselves - enjoy the rest of your tour folks Hope all the crash victims are ok today..... Quite a few bikes needing repairs tho' I guess
  8. Cany argue wi that George....... Well done Glasgow (ouch!)
  9. Congratulations to Poland on a well deserved win Cracking result for Rosco and team GB brilliantly led by Tai - SILVER medals - happy days
  10. First meeting I will miss at Glasgow for years ggggrrrrrrrrr!!! Safe meeting for all.......
  11. Now hopefully the rule books will be graciously put aside and we can talk about what was really important...... The racing last Sunday!!! IMO both teams deserved so much plaudits for the entertainment served up and win or lose, speedway was the winner. The video is excellent but no substitute for actually watching the race unfold in real time with the outcome in doubt for 4 full laps and it was only one of many brilliant races
  12. Yesterday was what Kelvin Tatum would call " speedway out the top drawer" ...... Huge well done to both teams, simply superb!!!
  13. Just want to say how good it is to hear Scunny fans got early confirmation they are running next year after previous years of doubt. Must be great for their fans and all concerned. Best wishes to Alex Davies
  14. Where were you at 5.30 Blobby, it was hammering down...... I thought Gazc was going to get his way!
  15. Why...... Danny is perhaps a wee tad OTT but IMO not enough riders interact with their supporters nowadays. The other Glasgow riders normally do similar celebrations too and you only have to watch the crowds response to see how much it is appreciated. It all adds to the "fun factor" and it's working for them
  16. Huge well done Glasgow..... What an atmosphere. My ears are still ringing
  17. Whatever the score...... Safe meeting for all and good racing for the cameras
  18. We are usually criticised for waiting till the last minute....... But this is the problem, when do you call it off? Early to save people travelling - last minute when fans are queuing at the gate - after a few non-event wobbly races or a few crashes - damned either way!!!I definitely don't want to watch "non-event speedway" and I definitely don't want to see riders injured This problem will remain until we all have roofed stadiums........... Or the damned rain stops
  19. For pity's sake George..... You live in Scotland....... Pouring rain wets things, including speedway tracks Does there have to be surface water for it to be completely sodden below?
  20. They keep coming back for John Anderson's delicious pies, just like the rest of us
  21. Ok boys, I was at the track when the call off was made and it was no surprise at all. The two afternoon downpours (1 was more of a monsoon) and the weather forecast made the decision easy. Sadly, the forecast rain changed its mind and the evening was dry....... No way of knowing that would happen. The damage was already done tho' and I'm afraid promoters are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I hope you have better weather on Wednesday but, as I said on your thread, you'll be ok as you will have tv cameras to prove it Good luck as I am really looking forward to it....... C ya!
