  1. It has been very succesful in ice hockey with 10 out of the 11 teams doing it. Crowds don't seem to have been affected too much as I have been told 90% of the viewers are away fans.
  2. The idea is to attract away fans and neutrals to watch it who wouldn’t want to travel without stopping locals from attending. Price of around £10 is lot cheaper for an away fan then travelling etc. Ice hockey been doing this for years and have learnt this you don’t want to affect the the home crowd but gain from mainly away fans watching steam who don’t want to travel.
  3. £5 too cheap, what would happen is locals would stop attending, would need to be around £10. Ice Hockey been doing this for several years now.
  4. The Manchester Evening News hasn’t really covered speedway or other minority sport like Ice Hockey etc for years. Occasionally there is a few inches but not often, nothing to do with the current promotion, I would say since Richard Frost retired from MEN.
  5. We had some very heavy thunder storms last night and drizzle this morning so practise was quite wet and grippy. It’s warm and sunny now so tonight I predict track will be lot dryer and slicker (makes for better racing) could play into GB hands a bit regarding setups.
  6. Belle Vue have been heavily advertising it on social media last few days, they have also been advertising it on digital billboards around Manchester. You are right about SpeedwayGB, nothing from them about it all week then this morning several tweets from practise few hours before meeting when its too late for most.
  7. I doubt there will be a stream, can't see a Polish company coming over to stream it.
  8. Not really as usually British Final crowd isn't that big with it being on a Monday and live on TV.
  9. Few weeks before hand, its ages away yet.
  10. That large car park is Showcase cinema and the entrance is on Hyde Road (exit on Kirkmanshulme Lane). It was an official car park for speedway of nations and although isn't official for regular speedway meetings I've never heard of anyone having a problem parking there. With a disabled badge though you can park right next to main reception of speedway stadium although spaces are limited so get there at decent time.
  11. Depending which stand you are going in, disabled parking for grandstand is right next to the main reception on Kirkmanshulme Lane, very short walk to grandstand and there is a lift. South stand has its own car park on Pink Bank Lane and can park right next turnstiles if get there at decent time. South stand is standing with disabled area at each end.
  12. Poole fans still going on about their patched up team even though their replacement facilities did better.
  13. Mark Lemon not swapping Bickley and Berge in heats 7 & 8 was big mistake,
  14. Taking no risks lol, he nearly clipped his back wheel several times, he was giving it everything!
  15. True, thought Vissing was well below both Wells and Aarnio but he isn’t.
  16. Officially the guest might be for Wells but that doesn’t really matter.
  17. Exactly thats another reason why it goes patchy and holes develop.
  18. It’s 27 degrees and they watering with a hosepipe. By the time they done one part it will be dry again.
  19. Poole to hit 52+ and the fans to see very little through the dust.
