Read carefully, I wrote ‘ if it lifts ‘, which despite the previous comments, it CAN do , under certain circumstances . Yes, they are heavier than ‘air ‘ panels but a bike going in first is still capable of lifting a panel.
-
Won’t make one ounce of difference , if it lifts, it’s the Armco that they hit that causes the majority of injuries.

and as you don’t know the answer perhaps you get your own house in order before trying to stir things up. Even I don’t think the chairman of the sport would run a practice session on his own track without insurance in order. -
There’s some lovely soft Armco barrier before you hit the concrete., you are buggered if the bike goes in first and lifts the air fence panel before you get there as Steve Worrall and a few others will tell you.

As Ashfield is twice the size of Redcar I struggle to see the connection, but hopefully the lad will settle in and do well.

2023 Season Riders Without Clubs.
Fortythirtyeight replied to rearingtogo's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
At least 5 of those have retired, two have declared they aren’t riding in the UK and another two have long term injury issues. -
Heat 1, followed by heat 2…. oh ! , you mean riders wearing what numbers ? Go for King, Hume, Riss, Edwards, Wright, Shane’s, Mulford but that’s just a guess as I don’t know the averages.

Having now read the Star, thanks to a shopping trip to Tesco’s, I see nothing wrong in what has been stated by the SCB. They can have a say on what happens with ‘ speedway ‘ events on their SCB licensed tracks. There’s no apparent ‘vendetta’ merely a concern over insurance, which is currently a high profile topic in motorsport generally with Ireland cancelling all 2023 road racing events because of the insurance costs. The possible difference in what other events run is the term ‘ speedway ‘ as most NORA events run at current SCB licensed tracks are ‘ Flat Track ‘ or ‘ Dirt Track ‘ events, but from the looks of the article that may now be frowned upon by the SCB. -

To be quite honest I stopped getting the Star when it became just another propaganda tool of the BSPL and mis quoting promoters and riders and generally just printing the ‘ official line ‘ and not representing the supporters and questioning those in power. If that is what Lawrence and Vatcher are saying ( if accurate ) then it is just another cover up led by we all know who, who does what he wants and not what he preaches. As for a ‘ Vendetta’ ? well I’m not sure about that but the IOW are entitled to do what they wish and now must follow the path they have chosen. I do feel it’s a great shame that they are lost to the NDL but that’s their decision. The SCB/ BSPL ( virtually the same body these days ) cannot dictate to stadium owners as to what they stage but they do have the power to revoke a SCB licence for whatever reason they choose. Basically , as we all know, the sport is in one hell of a mess. -

A little clarification is required. SCB run speedway events such as the three leagues etc. require SCB licensed officials , such as clerk of the course, start Marshall , track curators etc. Nora obviously have their own rules and regulations including sorting the insurance cover. There is / should be no issues for a track to run both events as does happen at a number of tracks now, Kings Lynn, Scunthorpe ( chairman’s track ) and others. -
4……he’s in Poland too.
-
What integrity ?
-
Just £10 more than Redcar charged then.

Just to clarify, Redcar do not run ‘Nora’ speedway events. They do rent the track out to Flat Trackers who run under Nora but no speedway is run under those regulations. -

If you read the latest news from Eastbourne then it’s championship only from the landlords. -

Which one ? The IOW version or the British Amateur League ? which is run at Scunthorpe by Richard Hollingsworth, who runs all the amateur events there. -
My apologies.

Boston and AMSA ride at Scunthorpe in the British Amateur League using the same format, perhaps they would be interested ? -
Not new as Scunthorpe ran the same events last season with four teams taking part and are looking to expand the ‘ British Amateur League ‘ in 2023 but good to see more opportunities out there .Pehaps I.O.W. could join in with Scunthorpe and have a seven team league ?
-
Insurance is all sorted by the organisers , as for the S.R.B.F. ……you would have to ask them, but my assumption would be you’re not competing in a S.C.B. controlled event so you may miss out on that benefit.
-
Incorrect. Any officially licensed rider competing in an ‘ official ‘ SCB controlled event is covered by their minimal insurance. Hence second half juniors are covered etc.
-
Looks like the same format as Scunthorpes ‘ British Amateur League ‘ but perhaps aimed at a slightly lower standard ?

Yes, 77 Jubilee year if I remember rightly, v Teesside . Very different to a permanent speedway track but it did the job.
