  1. Just quite sad really, I’m sure many like me log on to see what’s happening in the speedway world. But have to scroll through pages of nonsense.
  2. Can we go back to speedway? Or carry on talking waffle?
  3. I feel like Pooles team this year is built to have Rushen in it, if Rushen wasn’t signing. Then I think they’d of looked to of had a Hagon or Foord at reserve. And maybe of missed out Bowes. I think those Poole fans who are in the know, would’ve of said if Rushen wasn’t signing also.
  4. Yep was just about to say this, when lt mattered last year Zach beat Howarth 2 times in a row on his own track, and would’ve been 3 had Howarth not rode through him earlier on in the meeting. it’s tough to compare Pooles team to Glasgows as 2 or their riders I’ve never seen. I fancy us over Redcarr and also over Oxford, although we don’t know Oxfords reserves yet so it is too early to say. I agree that Glasgows have certainly laid down a marker, but we will be there come the business end which is when the medals are up for grabs
  5. Lawson’s average would be higher if he didn’t pullover to let Thompson pass him. masters on paper is a better points scorer yes, but Lawson interms of team riding I’d say is better. I certainly prefer Lawson but then I’m Bias, but Masters is a good argument. I disagree that Howarth is better, would take Zach all day long over him, Rowe and Palovaar. Morris is a little unknown for me, did look good on his comeback, but then he’s capable of being the best rider in the league. Riss has had some horrible meetings round Poole. And Nichols is a great number 5 but again, I think Zach has passed Nichols now. If Morris hits the form he can then I’ll give you that!
  6. I know a fair few people who have given up on the forum because of what’s written above. Speedway has enough problems, it doesn’t need all us fighting each other. We should ALL be doing our best to bring people to the sport, not name calling and insulting each other. As a Poole fan who’s attended for as long as I can remember, I enjoy being able to post on various pages, it’s what makes the forum enjoyable, enlightening and most importantly SPEEDWAY!
  7. Bit dramatic I think, Lawson was the best rider in the league last year, and certainly can do that again, Kerr improved as the year went on, if he picks up where he left off his average will certainly go up. Cairns has potential to be one of the best reserves in the league, so does the rumoured other reserve for the pirates. I can’t comment on Bowes other than he looked lightning quick in a few of his races round Poole last year. Gilkes will relish riding with Lawson and if he stays fit he could hit a GSA of 5. If Zach signs he will probably be the best number 5 in the league, so Poole would have the Best 1 and 5 and potentially the best reserves. And then 3 riders I expect averages to go up
  8. The plan was always for him to start the season at reserve, be interesting to see if he can get into the main body
  9. As always Pooles aim will be to win titles, if they feel at any point there’s a chance to strengthen within the season, they’ll take that opportunity. I’m not worried about Bowes, he outscored many riders last season in his debut champ season, riders often go to another level when riding for Poole. Cairns Rushen Gilkes could all put up to 2 points on their Ave, Cook Kerr Bowes should all put a point on theirs and Lawson just needs to do what he did last year. (assuming it’s Cook and Rushen)
  10. I would only compare Gilkes to Thompson as that’s who he’s replacing, which I think he is capable of beating Thompons 4.81 of last season. I think if he stays fit he should hit the 5 mark. Although if he has a slow start to the season then he could get a spell at reserve. Either way it Poole want to compete with Oxford and Glasgow and maybe Bewick, Zach and Rushen is a must
  11. Great side, but I think that number 6 will be Pooles 7 😉
  12. 4.91, so would not fit if the expected Mitch and Luke return, the top heavy team might just work if Rushen signs for the team his pen had on it… Looks like they will have a top 5 that can compete with Glasgows either way
  13. Don’t think he would fit. Think his average plus a 2pointer would put us over the limit? Either way, his sulking for Poole a few years back means he probably won’t return for a long time.
  14. So far it’s 5 riders that could certainly put a point on their average, maybe apart from Lawson, but if he rides like he did last year I wouldn’t put it past him
  15. Good signing that. A strong number 2. if Zach and Rushen follow him aboard the pirate ship for 2026 it’s a very good team.
  16. A very good top 4, but would need to get the bottom end spot on.
  17. I think a 4 pointer is looking likely, not many riders fit within the points limit we have available other than the couple mentioned that are likely to of already been snapped up. So am expecting someone new to British Speedway.
  18. For me, that teams closer to Glasgows level than Redcars
  19. Next signing announcement is tomorrow at 7am, Luke Killeen?
  20. So safe to assume Rushen is done. Zach/ the number 5 position is done. And then at the time that it was said, it was just the number 2 position not sorted.
  21. If it was 6/7 riders all signed and ready and it was Rowe who was the 7th and said no, then if Zach has been persuaded to stay the whole team should be signed sealed and delivered? or were we hoping for Beau and since he’s had a change of heart it’s now a bit of panic? I wouldnt mind Gilkes but it seems strange us needing a rider around the 4.8 mark and not snapping up Toby, makes me think that we have already signed the rider in the number 2 position. Have we heard anything about Jack Thomas? I know he had that horrific crash at the start of the ‘23 season, he would fit the points nicely, but I’m assuming he’s retired? Real shame if so.
  22. I’m not sure if there’s any news on when the next announcement will be? The next 3 are the interesting 3, Lawson Cairns were always coming back. Kerr was almost always coming back, and we all knew Bowes was in his way. Hoping the next one is Rushen putting those Oxford rumours to bed
  23. Glasgow certainly could be in the premiership, but business wise it isn’t smart. Oxford and Birmingham prove that. Poole could be but financially would be a silly idea. If for example belle Vue decided to drop down like Poole did. They’d never want to move back up. The only difference between the leagues are the big names. Entertainment wise there’s not a huge amount in it.
  24. Pooles number 1 will be at Pooles home meetings, and any rearranged meetings Poole will pick Wednesdays he is free or do the odd Friday evening meetings. Don’t worry
  25. I like to think Rushen was signed and sealed Months ago. As soon as Rowe asked for more money and was told no, hopefully Zach was signed (would assume so due to no announcement that he won’t be back). Leaving just the last one that the Fords announced is the only one not confirmed. I have hope that the one not confirmed at that time was Beau Bailey. Don’t think he will do premiership, so championship Germany and Poland will keep him busy. If it’s not Beau, then Dan Gilkes fits and would be a good signing. Or I’d guess another Aussie with no current experience over here.
