  1. They also beat Scunthorpe, who won their group. So if you mean we've not met Poole yet, you're right! That's the final!
  2. Yeah, great track tonight. There was racing in it for those who were up for it. 16 passes I think.
  3. To be honest, not the worst match to lose give to he state of the tie, but all the boys got beaten in races they shouldn’t tonight. Some credit to Redcar, especially Charles, but the Tigers looked like they didn’t have the starts, the setups or the stomach tonight. 6 point loss flattered them - Redcar were better than that.
  4. Yeah, I'm with you on that one this week. He's a weak link. Marcin not good tonight but has been in other home matches. Ace was always going to find it harder tonight as he learns to ride the track in different conditions but he made a pass before his crash in his first heat and made two cracking passes in his last. Lee's just been off the pace. He looks entertaining but half the time it's because he's struggling to stay on the bike.
  5. I've seen plenty Redcar folk tonight even with the off night - decent following.
  6. Very true, but Justin has done a decent job in his place in the two rides he brought a decent bike to. Ben missing doesn't help the tie but it doesn't look to me like it's the reason we're losing on the night. In fairness to Redcar, they've been good. Charles Wright has made some good passes, including on Bomber. Danyon Hume excellent at 2.
  7. I know it's not the usual night and people might also be making the best of the weather, but I hoped the turnout would be better.
  8. Track is definitely well watered. With Basso out, I think the tie is gone, but I also suspect the track won't give the Tigers much home advantage tonight. Might be a close one. Could be very interesting.
  9. If you put enough down, yes. Maybe not on top. I guess the principle is that you need to get ahead - if you wait until the sun's out, it must become a lot more difficult. But I don't know anything about track curation.
  10. They were watering until 1am and started again at 7am. One of the downsides of a well-draining track, I guess.
  11. He was always going to be the weakest rider as the season went on, especially as Ace is looking better by the week. I’d say his value is in being able to help Ace and to bank points at home. He’s generally done what I think he needs to. We are reliant on the top 5 away, and they should all be up to the job of delivering on that.
  12. I’m a neutral, I don’t really care! Wouldn’t mind Kilmarnock finishing second bottom, then I might be able to go to both legs of the final final. I’d support the Jags if I was going to that… Although speedway at Ashfield wins over all other sporting events!
  13. I missed this as I was in Ayr watching their team get pumped by Partick Thistle, but definitely Redcar are in the driving seat for Tuesday. Glasgow are well capable of turning it around at home though.
  14. If this year's final finishes before last year's final, does that mean last year's champions never won it?
  15. Yes, although Scunthorpe are, funnily enough, the one exception I can think of.
  16. 6 and 7 can be ordered as desired, as long as they are the two lowest averages.
  17. Yes, I wish you could just put all four back. Neither really did much wrong.
  18. He's been great. Scunthorpe started well but they're getting demolished now. Shame we've hit the interval. Watch Glasgow ride like they've never seen the track before, in ten minutes' time...
  19. Yeah, that was quality. The 250s provided a few good races. There were a few unrefined but decent riders there, which is exactly what you want to see.
  20. They were as fast as many reserve times. He’s got talent.
  21. Well of you want to be picky, it was 34 heats. I think it was more like 150 people, but definitely well up on last year. The 500cc was a bit of a joke, although Ashton was fast! Incidentally, what is the technical difference between the two 125cc classes? The heat times were about 6 seconds apart.
