A pretty good summary of what was and where we are now, except I think the old Norton Cannes greyhound stadium has been pretty much built all over, I think the biggest stumbling block has always been who actually owns the Chasewater site ?, and secondly on the borders of three different Councils, I actually think Chasewater could be a goer if ownership could be established. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Chasewater+Railway+-+(Brownhills+West,+Station)/@52.6585993,-1.938304,549m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x4870a0f593bb74c7:0x4362b64655aeadec!8m2!3d52.6627769!4d-1.9528404!16zL20vMDNiem5w Thats the outline of the old Trotting Track, Long Track that was held there years ago, and I can still see the outline of the Greyhound Track, which gives you an idea of how big the whole site is.
  2. Can't imagine actual facts, and the facts are this is happening far more at Scunthorpe than any other racetrack in the Uk.
  3. Yes Jim they are tenants, but if the ARC end game is showing products to the shops (which it is) then surely they can do the same with the Brummie Promotion, I know for a fact a previous tenant at Perry Barr (Maurice Buckland) never wanted nor allowed Speedway at PB.
  4. So where does that leave the Brummies yet another ARC racetrack ?, are we going to see Speedway wiped out in the West Midlands.
  5. Sad to see this happening but as an ex Greyhound trainer/owner I'm not at all surprised seeing how that Sport has evolved since covid, I would have thought the first place to call would be Wolverhampton racecourse see if they want the additional income that Speedway would bring.

Sad to say Greyhound racing does not have to rely on paying spectators visiting their tracks, in actual fact that probably loses them money, since Covid they have all survived by just streaming their race meetings into the bookies which generates far more income at considerably less cost than maintaining and running a Stadium 3/4,s empty, and all the expense that entails, however I fail to see how staging Speedway meetings impacts on that revenue, unless it's the fact that buildings have to be maintained and staff employed for those speedway meetings.
  7. And that's a very big part of the problem, very few new attendees not helped by ridiculous rules, bending of the rules, and making it up as you go along all of which simply don't help, another example being the NP situation at P,boro.

  9. Reference the recent serious injury to Jack Thomas. 1. Was he covered by the personal accident cover provided by the training organiser ?. 2. Is he entitled to any funds or benefits from the SRBF ?. If the answer is no to either or both then I suggest the SCB gets it,s own house in order before preaching to Nora 92.
  10. I would suggest Jason Doyle is 1 month younger than Freddie at 37 and Emil is 34, so how you can say both those are nearer the end of their career's I'v no idea.

" sums up what I feel the SCB are indeed trying to do, which is to stop Nora in it's infancy.

Nora regulated Speedway might be exactly what a few people are wishing for as BSPL regulated Speedway hasn't exactly brought the crowds flocking in over the past 20 or so years, nor has it done a great deal to help British riders find team places once they have reached a certain standard, hence we have fewer British riders riding Speedway than at probably any time since the 1950's.

I read the article in the SS, and Jim Lawrence said they had investigated every way to make it possible for Nora 92 meetings to take place on SCB licensed tracks, one could also turn it around and say they had investigated all ways to stop Nora 92 meetings taking place on SCB licensed tracks, imo the only way that they could find to hinder Nora 92 meetings taking place on SCB tracks was by inventing the red herring of insurance being invalid and under that guise have basically told Kent and Plymouth make your choice SCB or Nora 92 but not both, why choose when their is insurance in place for both organisations?, oh I forgot it's the BSPL dressed up as the SCB trying to dictate again what riders/clubs can and cannot do.

I thought that visa was only applicable to that rider for that particular team, if he changes Teams does he not have to obtain another visa ?, I have to admit I am unsure what the home office rules are with regard riders and sponsors, what I will say is that I think it is wrong that British riders are without Team places when visa riders can obtain Team places, but hey its what it is..
  15. I presume young Pearson needed a visa so perhaps Brum can get around the visa issue in the same way they have done with Pearson ?.

  18. I think you may have the overseas bit right, but look to the Stars and add some stripes That seems to be the general opinion where he will be from.

Looking at the list Proctor seems to have lost his appetite for the sport, Smith NDL level rider, McDonald has yet to reach his average, Andersen if he sorts out his engines has the ability, Royno love the guy but should stick to the Mic now, Kinsley gate and go in the NDL cant gate in the Champ, which leaves Gino he would be my guess, but Kasper is more than capable just get someone to sort his bikes out, is the delay in announcing the final rider due to work permit issues ?, so rule out Kasper for the UK next season.

With the signing of James Wright that leaves the Brummies 8.5 to play with for the last 2 riders, which way will they go ? 2 x 4+ riders or a 2 pointer with a 6+ rider, personally I would choose the later because if Sedgy has an off night you are relying on a 4 pointer to back up Nick in the later heats, with a 6+ rider at least its a better balance than Nick and Sedgy with 5 x 4+ riders, unless there is a new overseas rider coming on a 4 that will average 6/7 points, an interesting choice to be made by LR.
  21. I would hope that LR would have considered Dan Thompson and Sam Hagon , both have the potential to improve.

  23. https://www.devonlive.com/news/local-news/torquay-united-chairman-says-still-7651025?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar I never knew that he was involved at Oxford but I do know he closed down Bristol, Milton Keynes, Reading, and now Swindon Speedway, every one of them their were promises of new Stadiums being built but we are still waiting for the first new build Stadium from this guy, Torquay fans need to be very careful when this guy becomes involved because he is full of Bullrubbish and false promises, I know he still has the lease at Poole Speedway but has closed the Greyhound side of things Iv no doubt he is playing a long game down there possibly hoping the Speedway closes then the Stadium becomes unviable, incidentally who does own Torquay Uniteds ground, is it the Council or one of this guys companies ?.
  24. RIP Swindon Speedway, yet another added to a long line of Tracks being developed, but with GI as owners of the Stadium this was always going to happen.
