You jest but i wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Nazar Parnitskyi* riding at number 2 for Glasgow come August *19-year-old Ukrianian lad who scored 6 points in last night's GP

The product is fine, the expectation of the fans seems to have become that of the prawn sandwich brigade football fan. You're not going to get executive boxes, perfect weather and the same 1-7 every week but I'm perfectly happy with modern day speedway and judging by the size of the crowd for the hastily cobbled together (first ever) Northampton meeting there's still an appetite for the sport.

Here's a question: how much Weetabix is Kye eating for breakfast this season? He's been nothing short of fantastic. I noticed this during the latter part of last season and he's been doing everything right - gating, being strong into the first bend, overtaking and taking all the right lanes. And his confidence is sky high. What's changed?

I'm betting your ancestors were those people who walked the streets with billboards proclaiming THE END IS NIGH! Glasgow had to field two guests last week against Plymouth but the fans didn't start throwing themselves from the stands onto the concrete below. I'm confident Berwick and Edinburgh fans will remain calm and steadfast and do nothing rash. If Christians could face lions whilst singing and dancing I'm hopeful that the Berwick and Edinburgh fans will be able to handle the inconvenience of having to find a guest or use rider replacement.

The racing at Ashfield is always exciting but the crowds have been falling away recently. Friday was one of the hottest days of the year but the attendance was poor. I'm not sure why this is the case.

Cammy is a tactical mastermind and he's playing 4D chess. Rest assured the Tigers will comfortably win tonight and his genius will finally be recognised.
-
I'm already a bit concerned about Mario Hausl and Freddy Hodder. Hodder looked dreadful at Ashfield last Friday and Hausl only achieving six points and a bonus point from 3 meetings after arriving on a 5 point average doesn't bode well imo. Maybe he will get better but i can eventually see him being shipped out like Ashton Boughen was a year ago. He just cannot gate.

It's a phenomena which produces everything from sunshine to rain and snow but that's not important right now -

Where did my comment about the weather go? What's the point in this forum if every comment disappears? -

What about Northampton?
Nickinho replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Very true. Same thing happened to the Monarchs last year. -
Less than 2 weeks until kick-off! I can't wait. Good line-up for the Ben Fund too. I just hope this bad weather won't continue until the end of March and we have lots of sunshine on the 28th

What about Northampton?
Nickinho replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Northampton is a great example that setting up a speedway club isn't like planning a space mission to Mars it actually can be done without too much fuss if most of the infrastructure is in place. It reminds me of Linlithgow in the 90s and how a local garage owner built a track on a plot of land and before you knew it a hundred fans were attending each week. Granted, the racing so great, as it was even below the modern day NDL level but it was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. If a local farmer can be convinced to part with one of their many fields and are paid a small monthly fee, a lot of them would probably jump at the chance of an easy income and piecemeal set-ups like Linlithgow and Redcar can start to come into existence. After all, farmers are always complaining how farming generates no income at all now so why not open these kinds of dialogues? -
What about Northampton?

If speedway manages to get even half the amount of supporters that the stock cars get there then the new club will have no concerns at all and will be a successful addition to the top flight. -

Ever since Abba -
Bit of a width apart there...

You must live in Shangri-La where the police bother to track down certain groups of people after they've committed crime 🙃
-
Should make for an interesting reserve duo 😁 Lee was a great character though and he's a loss to speedway. Hopefully he will make a return one day even if it's just to the NDL to help along the young riders.

SGB Championship 2026 Confirmed Signings
Nickinho replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's not a bad team that's shaping up down Scunthorpe way considering that they have a (very good) rider taking up a quarter of the average space. Plus, it leaves room for both Max Perry at reserve and Worrall to come in at 5 if he decides to race this season, leaving a team which looks like this; Pickering / Harrison / MPT / Mountain / Worrall / Perry / Ingram -
SGB Championship 2026 Confirmed Signings

You mean like the miracle of 2024 when Scunthorpe won nothing? Or the miracle of 2023? Or the one in2022? Or... -
Max Perry

Probably an average of around 4 or 4.5. He's certainly the one under the most pressure imo.
