Glasgow on another upset over track conditions

Next week from what I think I heard at tonight’s meeting. if Doyle has come to Lynn, rather than Ipswich, the Stars would have been very good. anyway, I’ve seen some decent racing in the meetings I have seen at the AFA , none more so than in tonight’s meeting against Wolves. Old fashioned speedway in a couple of races where lead changed hands more than once. track seemed really good for racing

It was said on another thread that stox crowds were down at Arlington this year.

If you read the history of Eastbourne you will find that attendances have frequently been a worry with the club closing more than once. Arlington is out in the country. There is no walk-up crowd. You have to drive. Not on a bus route. Miles from railway station. Not in Eastbourne. Wrong side of the Hailsham bypass.

Speedway has one compound for every track. Why not let riders chooSe from soft, intermediate or hard? Also have a set of full wets. Then you can race when it rains

I’m told the stadium shows on a map issued by planning authority of sites that could be developed. Emphasis on the could. My friend who told me this also said loads of new houses going in at Hailsham despite drainage concerns

Won’t be long before people are buying a new house on Dugard Drive or a bungalow in Norris Road

Thank you. I look forward to reading. I am not surprised by the news about The Dugards not approving of NDL. Last year at Arlington some of the NDL stuff was less than impressive and should not have been put on before a paying crowd.

Any updates? Two months have passed by since last announcement

Gating has been a big problem for the Stars all season. It has been woeful at times. Klindt nailed it last night but that was exception rather than rule. Pickering held back in 3rd by classy bit of team riding In one race. Muesilak was racing for fun. Stars season has petered away after such a bright league cup group. Injuries and NKI situation largely to blame.

I think Lynn should get their full share of the Tv money. 10pc of Nothing will hit them hard

Arlington Stadium has been put forward for housing more than once under a procedure where land owners can ask the planning authority to consider their land for new houses. Anyone can put their land forward and even if accepted for consideration there is no automatic right to planning permission. No formal planning application has been made, as far as I know.

I would not have gone to Sheffield but Poole is a possibility and maybe Leicester. 3 best teams in league. Good pragmatic decision.

Not the point I was making. If you travel from further afield you often need to book trains to get best deal and book hotels. Hotels can be cancelled but trains rather more tricky.

Sheffield - certainly a track for travelling fan to swerve.
